Zarqawi Arrested

Jeff Quinton just e-mailed me with a report that Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, the man who brought you such beheadings as 'Kim Sun-il' and 'Nick Berg', has been captured.

Since the source for the info is an internet posting, I'm not holding my breath on this one. Fingers crossed, expectations low.

Update: Looks like all of us are a bit skeptical ---and Dr. Stotch (see comments) wonders when the ACLU is going to get called in.

Udate 2: Kevin says US command is denying the report.

1 Technically the source of the Lewinsky thing was an "internet posting" too... just have to qualify and say it was info posted on the Internet and then reported on by a Russian news agency and then recycled by a Bulgarian one :)

Novosti (the Russian source) didn't have their English language site updated to reflect it last I checked. I'll check their Russian site and see how rusty my cyrilic recognition is shortly.

2 I'll keep my fingers crossed that he "resists" arrest and takes a slug in the skull. Otherwise the Democrats will sue to get him a jury trial.

3 Get Johnny Cochran!

4 I pray the posting is correct. If it is though, can we start taking bets about how long something about the timing will appear in the NYT? I bet one day.

5 It's definitely not true. No way, no how.

A jury trial and confinement would be much better for the country because he would be a vital source of information. Winning the war isn't about vengeance.
