Victory in Mosul?

So that seems so 2005!

The lesson here is if we don't do what it takes to win this peace.

If we again abandon and withdraw. If we again fail to support those who fought ISIS and make sure they get a fair shake and voice in Iraq, I will have to write another Mosul falls to.... (insert Islamic terror brand here) and then another "Victory in Mosul 2023" post.

There is no one else who can act as a fair moderator, insuring that the Iraqi Sunnis and Kurds are treated fairly by the heavily Shia and Iran dominated Iraqi government.

1 I am fine with withdrawing again.
Everyone we might have liked in those ISIS lands
is dead; there are no christians or tobacconists left.
We should give guns to every local family
and let them choose their next tinpot murder king.
So long as the new despot limits his atrocities
to his own people it's not our business,
and if the New Boss really is the same as
the Old Boss and exports terrorism
then we can do it again.
And again.
There is no fairness in the arab/muzzlum lands
to moderate. We can do no good by staying there.
Screw Mosul.

"Now there's another thing I want you to remember. I don't want to get
any messages saying that "we are holding our position." We're not
holding anything. Let the Hun do that. We are advancing constantly and
we're not interested in holding onto anything except the enemy."
