The Worst Thing About The Trump/David Duke Setup

Is not that the media tried to hang a KKK anvil around Donald's neck.

Knowing fill well the history of Trump refusing to run in the Reform Party because of Duke's presence in 2000.

But that Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz never thought twice about joining with the media in the latest political attack. Since the Nevada Caucus the NetRoots on the left have been pushing, building a Trump KKK internet straw man.

Cruz and Rubio had no problem joining the party. Well done, Hlinko well done.

So the only conservative not willing to jump on the Leftaction lies bandwagon was Mike Huckabee.

The problem is everyone see's that every traditional politician is willing to say anything, anything at at all, no matter how dirty to take Trump out.

They'll even ally themselves with the lowest of the low of the left wing guerilla marketing partisans.

I'm not surprised at all by the left....

After all, they've played this card many times. But for the right to pick up this banner and carry it?

Personally I don't care much for Donald Trump as a personality. But he is a qualified candidate. What I'm losing faith in is the Republican Party as a party of principal, of fairness. Of a party better than the Democrats.

That Republican Party is gone. Both alternatives to Trump now squarely siding on a LeftAction talking point lie.

So tell me how I can vote for ANY OF THEM?

1 Reagan gave his first speech after he won the 1980 republican nomination in philadelphia mississippi and it didn't hurt him. If you don't know what philadelphia mississippi is famous for look it up.

3 David Duke has announced his support for Trump, but so has Louis Farrakhan.

Those two will just have to accept the fact that they agree on something for once, just as I, a Trump supporter who dislikes both of them, will have to accept the fact that I happen to agree with the two of them on something for once.

4 Of course the leftards will make a big deal of some KKK clown making an unsolicited 'endorsement' of Trump, while having forever ignored the fact that Obama sat in front of an anti-american hate spewing black 'reverend' for 20 years, absorbing the poison.

5 Apparently, we elect people on the basis of their PR presence. We elect the guy that gives the best off the cuff snark remark. To win a "debate" requires the clever come back, which the news media can loop ad nauseum, and the uninformed voter can latch on to. We don't elect people on the basis of substance and real experience. And these debates? These aren't real debates. What we have are questions like, "So and so said X about you. What do you think?" This isn't a debate question. This is a facilitated ad hominem. This is a reality TV tactic of creating conflict. This whole election cycle, thus far, has been one big joke.

7 Thing was that on Friday Trump was asked about David Duke's support at a rally and he immediately said "I denounce disavow David Duke and his group".

Then on one of the Sunday morning shows Trump was asked about it and said he didn't know who David Duke was or anything about his group and he'd have to research them if he was going to disavow them.

It's the height of cynical politics. The so-called "alt-right" and actual racists might represent people mad enough and thus motivated enough to go vote in primaries, so Trump chose not to alienate them ahead of Super Tuesday.

Doesn't mean he's a Nazi, but he's certainly not above taking their votes.

Cruz Rubio just called him on it.

8 ST: Well I suppose if Rubio is willing to Blow John Hlinko to be President who am I to judge?

But he still won't get it.

9 Just pointing out the reason for it.

I've seen a lot of folks who like Trump (and/or dislike the others) make points about this, but somehow miss what actually happened that led to it, which is important context to have.

It didn't come out of nowhere.

Ignoring what Trump actually said - first on Friday with disavowing David Duke, then on Sunday with pretending not to know and saying he wouldn't disavow without more research - and writing it off as "his competitors just hate him" is the same thing - and saying it's a lie... ignores the actual event.

Trump quote from the CNN link (from Sunday morning, after having disavowed Duke on Friday):
---
"I have to look at the group. I mean, I
don't know what group you're talking about," Trump said. "You wouldn't
want me to condemn a group that I know nothing about. I'd have to look.
If you would send me a list of the groups, I will do research on them
and certainly I would disavow if I thought there was something wrong.
You may have groups in there that are totally fine -- it would be very
unfair. So give me a list of the groups and I'll let you know."Tapper responded: "OK. I'm just talking about David Duke and the Ku Klux Klan here, but --"And
Trump said: "Honestly, I don't know David Duke. I don't believe I've
ever met him. I'm pretty sure I didn't meet him. And I just don't know
anything about him." ---

Rubio sucks because of his amnesty crap, but neither he nor Cruz is wrong for calling out Trump here.

Again, Trump, at best, was simply dodging the question so as not to alienate the so-called "alt-right" and actual racists on Super Tuesday.

It paid off... but it's probably not something really desirable in a candidate.
