The Worst Thing About The Trump/David Duke SetupHlinko well done. So the only conservative not willing to jump on the Leftaction lies bandwagon was Mike Huckabee. The problem is everyone see's that every traditional politician is willing to say anything, anything at at all, no matter how dirty to take Trump out. They'll even ally themselves with the lowest of the low of the left wing guerilla marketing partisans. I'm not surprised at all by the left....

Those two will just have to accept the fact that they agree on something for once, just as I, a Trump supporter who dislikes both of them, will have to accept the fact that I happen to agree with the two of them on something for once.

Then on one of the Sunday morning shows Trump was asked about it and said he didn't know who David Duke was or anything about his group and he'd have to research them if he was going to disavow them.
It's the height of cynical politics. The so-called "alt-right" and actual racists might represent people mad enough and thus motivated enough to go vote in primaries, so Trump chose not to alienate them ahead of Super Tuesday.
Doesn't mean he's a Nazi, but he's certainly not above taking their votes.
Cruz Rubio just called him on it.

But he still won't get it.

I've seen a lot of folks who like Trump (and/or dislike the others) make points about this, but somehow miss what actually happened that led to it, which is important context to have.
It didn't come out of nowhere.
Ignoring what Trump actually said - first on Friday with disavowing David Duke, then on Sunday with pretending not to know and saying he wouldn't disavow without more research - and writing it off as "his competitors just hate him" is the same thing - and saying it's a lie... ignores the actual event.
Trump quote from the CNN link (from Sunday morning, after having disavowed Duke on Friday):
"I have to look at the group. I mean, I
don't know what group you're talking about," Trump said. "You wouldn't
want me to condemn a group that I know nothing about. I'd have to look.
If you would send me a list of the groups, I will do research on them
and certainly I would disavow if I thought there was something wrong.
You may have groups in there that are totally fine -- it would be very
unfair. So give me a list of the groups and I'll let you know."Tapper responded: "OK. I'm just talking about David Duke and the Ku Klux Klan here, but --"And
Trump said: "Honestly, I don't know David Duke. I don't believe I've
ever met him. I'm pretty sure I didn't meet him. And I just don't know
anything about him." ---
Rubio sucks because of his amnesty crap, but neither he nor Cruz is wrong for calling out Trump here.
Again, Trump, at best, was simply dodging the question so as not to alienate the so-called "alt-right" and actual racists on Super Tuesday.
It paid off... but it's probably not something really desirable in a candidate.
