Yet Another Boston Area Man Arrested in Terror Plot to Behead Police (Update: Original Target Was Pamela Geller)

That's three guys in three days from the greater Boston area who have either been killed or arrested. Two days ago the Iraqis announced that they had killed two American ISIS members, one of which was Boston's own Ahmad Abousamra who was on the FBI's most wanted terrorist list. Yesterday, Usaama Rahim was killed as he wielded a large knife at a police officer and FBI agent. Today, an apparent co-conspirator with Rahim was taken into custody:

David Wright was taken into custody at his home in the Boston suburb of Everett on Tuesday night. No charges were immediately announced, and Boston police said the suspect was being interviewed. He was due in federal court at 3:30 p.m. ET.

Wright's arrest came as police and federal authorities continued an investigation into the man who was killed, Usaamah Abdullah Rahim. He had been under surveillance for several weeks by the Boston Joint Terrorism Task Force.

The pair, apparently, were planning to behead a police officer:
The man shot and killed by an F.B.I. agent and a Boston police officer Tuesday had been under surveillance by terrorism investigators because he was planning to behead a police officer, the authorities say.
Meanwhile, Rahim's brother, an Imam, is left eating crow after announcing yesterday on Twitter that his brother was on the phone with his father when he was shot in the back three times. Unfortunately for the good Imam, the entire episode was caught on a security camera at CVS. Civil Rights leaders, always too quick these days to blame the police, have seen the tape. They refute both claims made by Rahim's family. Not only was Rahim not shot in the back three times (he was shot in the chest and abdomen as he approached the retreating law enforcement officers with a large knife), the video also shows that he wasn't even on the phone as his brother claimed:
A Boston man whom police fatally shot after he waved a knife at officers was not on the phone at the time of the shooting and was not shot in the back, as reported by the suspect's brother, according to clergy members who met with authorities Wednesday to watch surveillance video of the incident.
So, you're not going to believe this, but the brother, Imam Ibrahim Rahim, was lying when he made those claims.

An Imam .... lying. What has the world come to?

Update: The full complaint against David Wright is here at Mashable. It includes transcripts of phone conversations.

Update by Howie: According to CNN the original plot was to murder blogger Pamela Geller.

Usaamah Rahim, who was fatally shot after waving a military knife at law enforcement officers in Boston, was originally plotting to behead Pamela Geller, an activist and conservative blogger, law enforcement sources told CNN on Wednesday.

But Rahim, a 26-year-old security guard who officials believe was radicalized by ISIS and other extremists, decided instead to target the "boys in blue," a reference to police, according to court documents.

"I can't wait that long," he said of the original beheading plan, according to an FBI affidavit filed in federal court in Boston.

Geller drew national attention last month after an off-duty police officer working security thwarted an attack at her organization's contest for Prophet Mohammed drawings in Garland, Texas. She's president of the American Freedom Defense Initiative, which includes subsidiary programs Stop Islamization of America and Stop Islamization of Nations.

"They targeted me for violating Sharia blasphemy laws. They mean to kill everyone who doesn't do their bidding and abide by their law voluntarily," Geller told CNN's Erin Burnett after learning of the alleged plot.

1 But,Rahim was running PEACEFULLY with that knife when he was gunned down, wasn't he? And I am equally certain that the beheading of police officers would have been accomplished with the same level of civility and mercy for which Islamo-fascists are (in)famous.
