Awesome: ISIS Takes Ramadi

Over 80 Marines and soldiers died taking Ramadi in 2006. Their sacrifice, it seems, now in vain:

Iraqi and U.S. officials are maintaining that the tide will soon turn back against ISIS, whose fighters seized control of Ramadi on Sunday after a prolonged offensive using explosive-laden bulldozers and other vehicles driven by suicide bombers.

But many observers say that recovering from the loss of the strategic city -- the capital of Anbar province, Iraq's Sunni heartland -- will take a long time.

"This is a huge setback to Iraqi forces and to the U.S. strategy to degrade and ultimately defeat ISIS," said Peter Mansoor, a CNN military analyst who was a colonel in the U.S. Army.

The ISIS victory in Ramadi, after more than a year of fighting, shows the Sunni militant group's broader resilience in the face of sustained airstrikes from the U.S.-led coalition and pressure from Kurdish forces in the north.

It's funny how a few weeks ago the media was busy celebrating the fall of Saigon, and none of these asshats seemed to want to make the connection with Iraq.

1 Never start or fight a war you do not intend to win.
Never start or fight a war your political successors will lose deliberately for political gain.
As it was in April of 1975 here we are again today.
Reversing a win just to turn back the political clock is anal.
Next time you need a soldier to fight for a democrat.

9 Remember the highway of death when the US managed to destroy almost the entire Iraq military in one day? And yet Obummer cannot seem to stop bull dozer driving suicide bombers? How hard is it to put a hellfire into a bull dozer? Or do they have some sort of super dozers over there that can outrun a jet? Time to take command of the air campaign away from the bummer and put an Aussie in charge.

13 Obsidian wants someone else (Obama) to order other people (the US military) to do what HE thinks best
How about this Ob YOU GO over there first and YOU put your butt on the line for what YOU think should be done
Phil we spent 30 billion "training" the Iraqi army. They don't want to fight ISIS if YOU want to fight ISIS follow Obsidian he seems to think he knows the way
And Qid you should also join them
Tony Montana maybe he should just be kept in reserve.
Iraq has been a clusterfick since the beginning. Should we go back to the "no its not a civil war" from 2005?
And Rusty 'Nam ??? Really ??? The reunification of Viet Nam is like Iraq?
Sound Awake ISIS was and is supported by the Sunni block of Saudi arabia Qatar AbuDhabi and Israel it is Sunni vs Shia with Iran supporing the Shia. Just which side would you be willing to put your butt (as opposed to someone else's on the line) for
Lot's of people seem to want others to fight ISIS very very few will go over and volunteer to fight them. And before you send others remember 50% (according to Stars and Stripes) of conbat deplyed vets are claiming permanent disability from service related injuries. How many more do YOU want to send?

20 Actually, truth be told, Daddy and I had a "discussion" after I introduced my non-white crackhead wife to him, a "discussion" sort of like the one Harry Reid and his brother had.

Luckily, Daddy has Medicare to ensure he didn't go bankrupt from the damage done by my very powerful "arguments".
