Oklahoma Democrat Wants Christian Businesses To Identify Themselves With Notices In Windows

I'm sure the last group to try this thought they were justified as well...

Oklahoma Democratic state Rep. Emily Virgin wants Christian businesses to post a public notice of discrimination if they intend to claim that they have a religious right to refuse service to LGBT people.

State Rep. Chuck Strohm (R) introduced a bill, the Oklahoma Religious Freedom Act, earlier this year that would allow businesses like wedding cake bakers and photographers to deny services if it was "against the person's religious beliefs." [...]

The amendment to HB1371 introduced by Virgin on Tuesday would require religious businesses to come out of the closet.

Virgin is proud of her original idea, and so are many of her followers.

The last time fascists tried this, it worked out so well for the business owners.

1 I would like to see a bill that makes Emily Virgin declare to every person that she meets, that she is a moronic dipshit. There are only 2 ways that she can do this without being imprisoned: 1. Hi, I'm Emily Virgin and I'm a moronic dipshit. Or 2: I'm a moronic dipshit, my name is Emliy Virgin.

2 This mindset of passing laws to make people feel better instead of looking at the long term ramifications always ends up hurting more people than it helps.

3 "Any person not wanting to participate in any of the activities set forth in subsection A of this section based on sexual orientation, gender identity or race of either party to the marriage..."

Is there anything in the bill that mentions race? Or is Virgin trying to create even more controversy?

4 It was the nazi's who came up with the pink triangle to wear. You don't want to warn people that this business discriminates against lgbt community so people can decide if they want to do business. You want them to go in not know so they can be told maybe in front of other people "We don't do business with queers!" Hey it may gain them business with homophobes like you.

5 Whatever happened to "We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone?"

6 Ok arizona, what if this catches on and people start putting signs up on who they don't want in their buildings? Whites only, no blacks, no asians, no jews, no straights, no gays, etc. We've been down that road before. I'm sure the number of businesses who don't want to serve people based on "whatever" isn't even measurable as a percentage. So what's the point in putting up signs? What is gained from any of this other than feeling vindicated for the moment?

7 What Alan said.

Every business should have a sign in the window or near the cash register that says "We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone." Problem solved!

9 The guide at Dachau last summer, talked for 40 minutes on these type of things that took place as the Third Reich took over.

My wife and I said it sounded like the past number of years here. And now one of the most popular bullet calibers is being arbitrarily banned.
By unelected "officials".

10 Christian's will now be made to carry crosses.
Be cool Folks, take the homosexuals money and use it against the homosexual's. Let them pay for their own petard.

11 When the queers put queer marriage on the ballot in your state they ask ...How can it possibly harm anyone?
How long before the queers demand that the teaching of the Lord be labeled hate speech and banned.
The Harm the queers will inflict on Christians is to demand that we invent a Lord who approves of sodomy, or be fined, or jailed for our religious beliefs.
It's coming.

12 All Oklahoma Democrats should have to put the word Democrat on their campaign signs.

13 A marriage is supposed to be an event that you celebrate, that you hold special for years to come. Also the stories are legion of weddings being ruined because the caterer screwed up or the photographer farked up. Why would a pair of queers or carpet munchers want to risk ruining their special day by hiring a caterer or photographer who DOES NOT want the job? It's obvious that they don't. To the homnosexual activists, it's an opportunity to persecute those who disagree with them.

The homosexual activists are no different than any of the other liberal hypocrites out there. They claim to want tolerance, but only coerced tolerance and ONLY ONE WAY. They want you to be forced to tolerate them no matter your own personal religious beliefs. However, they believe they are under no obligation to tolerate your or what you believe in.

14 To the liberals out there who call us bigots because we don't want to be forced into something we don't agree with, follow me for a moment.

Let's say you're a vegan and own a catering business. Since you won't touch animal products, you specialize in vegan food and cater to the other vegans in your area.

One day a man or woman comes in saying they want you to do the catering for an upcoming event. The two of you start discussing the menu when the customer says they want meat and cheese. You politely decline and tell them you're a vegan and won't touch animal products. The customer leaves. Later you find the would be customer has filed a lawsuit against you and fighting this lawsuit will likely force you out of business. So you have the choice of violating your deeply held beliefs or losing the business you worked for years to build.

You wonder why does this person not go to another caterer who has no problem with animal products. Why do they seem hell bent on forcing you into bankruptcy.

Libs, this is how the people feel who do not want to handle events involving homosexual weddings. It's a deeply held belief among them that marriage is not a union between two men or two women.

You have no business asking others to tolerate your beliefs if you won't tolerate theirs.

16 This sounds to me more like a ruse to allow Muslim business to refuse such service. Notice that we have not read of any bold, brave, in-your-face activists trying to have a gay wedding cake made at a Muslim bakery.

Then they came for the photographers...

20 Why be in a business that serves the public if the owners want to put restrictions on who they serve (dress code, cleanliness, the usual associated with restaurants and schools)? I mean, who cares who pays for and eats a freaking cake? This is all so childish.
