1 The Crusades were in response to Islamic aggression.

2 It took Europe 700 years to drive them back to the
M.E. This fiction is almost as blatant as the
idea that Arab Palestinians existed before 1948

3 DMartyr is right. Spot-on.

Islam had been *slaughtering* its barbaric way across the world for almost 400 years before the Crusades came along.

4 owillis would also like you to not google the numbers of people killed in the crusades and by the islamics through history through today/

Posted by: Kafiroon at September 26, 2014 05:17 PM

5 idiots like willis are ignorant. they think the crusades were an offensive war by europeans, an attempt to steal from muslims what had always been theirs; in fact it was a counter-attack by the west to attempt to re-take what muslim invaders had taken by force, by use of terror. the counter-violence used by the crusaders was no worse than the violence used by the invaders. attacking crusaders for the violence they used would be like attacking fdr for the violence he used to defeat hitler. sane and knowledgeable people do not blame fdr for any of the deaths in ww2; they are all the fault f the aggressors, th nazis, the axis. ditto the crusades: all the casualties are ultimately the fault of the invaders, the arabs, the muslims.

6 "if you want to believe islam has a lock on violence"..dont chant "islam is a religion of peace". Emphasis "chant"

7 Would somebody on twitter kindly forward this link to Mr. Willis. 120 Muslim scholars refute "ISIS" ideology.

8 Right now the rest of the world has a lock on civilization.
It's not that we cannot be barbarians, 'cause we have been. Recently. It was not fun. (We do not want to admit that it was fun.) Izzlam should not fool itself into thinking it has a lock on horrific violence.

10 Coming from a black man who probably has no idea or is willfully blind to the fact that black people are still held in chattel slavery by Arab Muslims in Africa. Useful idiot.

11 @ 7 Valerie: I wonder if it says the same in Arabic as it does in English.

12 Oliver "Filet-O-Fish" Willis, like flypaper to stupid since 2003.

13 Crusades were a military respond to the Islamic invasion of the Levant. Crusader violence was less than what the Muslims did. Crusaders war brutal, yes, but not bent on genocide and not the primary aggressor.

14 What a douche bag...!!!

Posted by: KUFFAR at September 27, 2014 11:07 AM

15 Catholics: personally held responsible for something that happens 700 years ago.

Muslims: Behead people this week, and it's either "workplace violence" or totally ignored.

/yeah, there's no bias in the world today...

16 Compare Crusader to violence to Moslem violence ( including piracy and slave raiding ) during the same period.

The Crusades were an act of self-defence ( with the exception of own goals like the Albigensian Crusade, and the sack of Constantinople ).

17 And DEFINITELY don't google Byzantine Empire...

Posted by: HAL at September 27, 2014 01:57 PM

18 Sad bit is that Willis and his readers, after 12-plus years of public education, really do have to use google to find out what the crusades were. I asked ISIS about the Crusades and they said, "You mean last night?"
Boom, baby.

19 #11. If it doesn't, MEMRI will let us know, and I will be watching for it.

20 This is one of those black idiocies that are grasped for justification of violence.
