Louisiana Welfare Program Prohibits Fund Use For Nonessentials

BATON ROUGE, La. Louisiana welfare recipients will be prohibited from spending the federal assistance at lingerie shops, tattoo parlors, nail salons and jewelry stores, under new limits enacted by state social services officials.

The Department of Children and Family Services announced the emergency regulations late Thursday. They cover the Family Independence Temporary Assistance Program commonly known as welfare benefits and the Kinship Care Subsidy Program. (Source)

Of course, recipients can simply withdraw the cash from ATMs and use the funds for unnecessary items and services.

Another program exploiting hard-working Americans.

3 I am loving the hell out of this one! In the early
90's I pulled into a Boy's Market parking lot right
behind a woman in a Rolls Royce Corniche. I ended
up right behind her at a checkout line where she
paid for her purchase with food stamps.

It used to be that food stamps could not be used to purchase liquor or luxury foods like lobster or
prime cuts of meat.

The EBT card now makes it possible for someone to
purchase all kinds of stuff that used to be off
limits.

Now you see them used at casinos, liquor stores,
cruise ships etc...

It is about time!

4 Well, in Montana food cards can only be used to buy 'cold foods'. Always been that way as far as I know.
