Big Weekend in Ukraine

Wow, over the weekend President Viktor Yanukovych was impeached, an interim government put in place. And now a warrant had been issued for his arrest. He and his top aids have apparently fled the country.

I'm not sure about the charge of murdering peaceful protesters. It would seem the regime change, exile and new government was what was wanted. It seems there was a lot of violence and the last days of the regime. But maybe that will prevent him from attempting to return from his exile.

Anyway its good this has so far been resolved without civil war, civil wars suck. Just as the Syrians.

1 Greetings:

Even though it seems to be heavily into "mergers and acquisitions" mode, I'm still having a hard time seeing the European Union as anything close to a "white knight" especially in view of its brow-beating of the Swiss for their referendum vote to limit immigration which apparently flies in the face of the EU's "free movement of people" ideology. It may be a large part of their culture that the Ukrainians are kissing off when they accept the EU's embrace. The EU may be less despotic, but it still will want its way and political and economic shenanigans are not, as history proves, beyond its pale.

2 My guess is that they are exchanging one corruptocrat for another corruptocrat. And maybe losing the Crimea

3 The Ukraine has about 1/2 of 1% moslimes. So the Syrian slaughter, to the well and good of Everyone else, will not happen.
BUT, going EUugh will open the doors to that pond scum.

4 Storming the palace was fun. I got a dinner plate and a spoon from the dining room!
