Awesome: Afghanistan Begins Releasing Captured Jihadists

Exactly how is our little project of state-building in Afghanistan going? Not good:

The US government has condemned an ordered release of the first wave of 88 prisoners from Bagram prison, saying that more than 40 per cent of the prisoners who are set to go were involved in direct attacks against the US and Afghan forces.

The Afghan Review Board (ARB), led by Abdul Shakoor Dadras, has ordered the release of the first 37 of 88 from Bagram, which the US military categorised them as “dangerous”.

Michelle has more.

As I've come to realize over the past 10 years of blogging, there's not much we can do to improve the sh*thole that is Afghanistan. The best strategy moving forward is to put them on notice that should they ever allow the Taliban to come back to power that we will not hesitate to wipe the country from the face of the Earth. And yes, I do mean that literally.

1 So if they kill each other, and yes that means a number of innocent die also, that is the results of their decisions. If they export their murder, Yes, Nuke'em and be done with it.

4 If the Taliban come back, but they don't allow AQ to resume operations, I might extend them a bit of slack. There's only so much civilization we can stomp into a culture like that.

5 Now damn it Rusty, talk of wiping Afghanistan off the face of the Earth is what we should have said to the Taliban the minute they told us to go fuck ourselves when we said hand over Bin Laden.

Would have saved a lot of good men and women's lives.
