R.I.P Lou Reed

Lou Reed dead at 71.

Update by Howie: Lou Reedís Stand for Israel and against Anti-Semitism.

Perhaps even more than other American-Jewish rock stars such as Billy Joel and Bob Dylan, Lou Reed was fiercely proud of being Jewish ó and included lyrics on behalf of Israel and against anti-Semitism in some of his songs.

I mention Reedís Jewishness because not a single obituary I have read of him in the mainstream press mentions it, when for Reed it was an important factor.

1 It's okay, Lou has just gone for a walk on the wild side. RIP Lou and thanks for the music.

3 How did he loose his old liver?
Booze? Drugs? HIV? All of the above is my guess.

4 Jack he is a banker.
And Jill she is a clerk.
Both of them save their money
When they come home from work.

5 Booze and drugs in vast amounts when young will kill you when you get a little older.

Except for me. It will never happen to me.

6 The Bush administration, they and all the other Republicans and CIA
before us got us into this mess weíre now in, and itís their duty since
the naive and easily strong right manipulative people elected them that
they got us out of it. History in America we always have these old
fashioned conservatives who use war as a profit and send a whole
generation of young men to murder other poor people. -Lou Reed

7 Bomp!, so, are you saying that Lou Reed's passing is Bush's fault or something?

RIP, Lou xoxo

Go Away, Bomp!

8 Sally can't dance no more.
She can't get herself off the floor
They found her in the trunk of a ford.

I was an adolescent fan of Lou Reed. I like the fact that he could give me a slightly sick feeling. I now listen to The Hoosier Hot Shots. I never did take a walk on the wild side. Good bye, Mr Reed.
