Al Qaeda Breaking Ties to Secular Syrian Rebels

Given the recent violence between the FSA and al Qaeda linked groups -- including the latter's mass beheading of prisoners from the former -- it was bound to happen:

Several Syrian rebel groups, including a powerful al Qaeda-linked faction, said Wednesday they reject the authority of the Western-backed opposition coalition.

In a joint statement, 13 rebel groups led by the al Qaeda-linked Nusra Front slammed the Turkey-based Syrian National Coalition, saying it no longer represents their interests....

The rebel groups' statement called on all those trying to topple Assad's government to unite under a "clear Islamic framework" - an apparent reference to the al-Qaeda faction's aspirations to create an Islamic state in Syria.

Given that Salaafi jihadis represent somewhere between 24 - 50% of those fighting in Syria, are we now seeing the end game with Assad finally able to sit back and enjoy the popcorn as infighting tears apart the rebellion that started out so hopeful and ended in the cannibalism all of us thought wouldn't appear until after the regime had fallen?

What the hell is a "Rebel Group"? Is that the term we now use when we don't know what or who the group represents? Or is it just any oldgroup on an opposing side?(aka "the bad guys") I'm really getting tired of the way terms are morphing in this day and age. Bronco Bama is proven to have given arms to these "Rebel Groups". Or, were they"Freedom Fighters" then? (aka "the good guys") It's all so confusing, especially when you throw in some extremists, from either of these.
America needs some of these "Rebel Groups". Who do you think the clown in chief would consider these to be?

3 Ever notice how Obama supports the insane moslem maniacs over a secular Gov't every time? Remember, Obama said that if things got nasty, he would, and has, throw his lot in with the i-slamists. Now we must support and arm Al fuckin' Qaeda, because racism.

4 Is it just me, or is Al-Qaeda wearing out its welcome at increasingly accelerated rates?

5 In less than 18 months the whole shebang will be muslim brotherhood. And yes it is ubama's dream (of his father, too). Let's just plan to fight them here. Because that's their plan.

6 Personally, I weep real tears at being shunned by those manly men of Al Qaeda.

7 If Assad was smart -- and how I wish he were -- he should grant all the rebels amnsty (like North did to South in US Civil War) and mend their fences, and then with teir help decimate al qaeda.

8 #7. Ya never heard of re-construction jb?
Raping southern females, burning homes, killing men and boys of military age on sight, picking up southern babies by their heels and bashing their brains out on the ground.
History is written by the victors, but that doesn't make amnesty real nor does it make the south a part of the United States just by an act of amnesty. much as Mexico was invaded and had their land stolen by the US government so did the south. That is the one thing the southern states, Mexico, Germany, Japan, Canada and a whole host of others share with the United States, war and destruction brought to them by the US Government bent on making it the federal way or death.
The south did not really recover from the war and the aftermath before the 1950's.
By the way it's called the WAR of NORTHERN AGGRESSION in the south led by the tyrant Lincoln who was a war criminal as well as his general Sherman.
Amnesty was not given it was forced by bayonet and to not give allegiance to the Federals meant prison or death.
The southern states owe the US government nothing, the reverse is not true.
States Rights, Bonnie Blue and all that.
Assad is right in killing the rebels because 150 years from now those rebels will still want a piece of Government assadist ast.
Amnesty, like those old time southerners wanted amnesty, like sh it they did.
They wanted the US Government to get out of southern affairs and go home.
Many still do and it's not just the south these days.
