Taliban Spokesman in Pakistan Replaced by Sockpuppet More Willing to Jerk Hakeemullah Mehsud Off

This is .... interesting:

he outlawed Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan has sacked its central spokesman, better known by the name of "Ehsanullah Ehsan", and appointed "Sheikh Maqbool" as his replacement....

According to the document, a copy of which is available with Dawn.com, the Taliban central council believes that the central spokesman had issued a statement which "may have caused rifts and misunderstandings between the TTP and the Afghan Taliban."

I'm not 100% sure what to make of this. Given that Ehsanullah Ehsan doesn't exist, maybe they just told the guy making the unpleasant remarks about the Aghan Taliban to cool it and assume a different name?

Then again, this is the Taliban we are speaking of. People notorious for labeling any all all disagreement as treason. So, maybe they offed the guy behind the Ehsunullah Ehsan sock-puppet and replaced him with a more acceptable propagandist? I hope this is the case, as we know what the Taliban does with "traitors".

Going to work for the Taliban is a bit like going to work for the mafia. Never go against The family.

2 The difference between the Mafia and the Taliban is at least when the mafia kills you, it's not personal.

3 Yeah, this story is about the Pakistani Taliban. Alemarah Studios is, as you know, the Afghan Taliban.

4 Uh, Ehsanullah Ehsan does exist. He even appeared in a video last Decemberwith Hakimullah and his now dead right hand man Wali Rehman.
