Adam Levine On A Hot Mike: "I Hate This Country"

(Hat Tip: Gateway Pundit)

You can view the whole segment HERE.

Levine has responded via Twitter to say it was just a joke.

Am I the only one who stopped to ask, "Who the f*ck is Adam Levine?"

UPDATE: After tweeting it was just a lighthearted joke, Levine issued a statement saying he said it out of frustration. Which is it?

9 Grey, #6, I was right with you until "talented", but good rap.

10 I don't like the guy or his music. With that said, his remark is perfectly explainable in context. He's a coach on a teevee show called "The Voice" where actually-talented nobodies try to get their break in the music industry. A little like March Madness for vocalese. In the final eliminations, "America" (the viewing public) votes for the "best" talents by texting, tweeting, etc. Apparently Levine lost one or more of his team members (of whom he is paid to think highly) in the latest elimination round. So in frustration he says "I hate America", which one might plausibly assume is shorthand for "I hate it that America voted my singers out of the contest".

It ill-behooves us to accuse a celebrity of anti-Americanism when there is another reasonable explanation for such an out of context remark. Makes us look foolish.

Besides, I needed to write the word "behoove" today. Look! Twice! Yay!
