1 The IRS probably denied that document.

Political organizations aren't allowed tax exempt status without the filing requirements submitted. Lesson to be learned: Don't behave like a political entity and you won't be scrutinized like one. Pretty friggin' simple.

3 If the IRS had the same broad discretionary powers as the DHS they'd be able to combat these radical Constitutionalists.

On a side note, does it feel like late winter 1933 to anyone else?

4 Seems to be the same regardless of where the pendulum swings. It's not a football game. Maybe we should stop treating all of this like it was. Yeah, it's scary...

5 I usually have a copy of the Declaration, Constitution, and Amendments in my pocket. That way, if asked by anyone, I can explain it chapter and verse.

6 Very cool on your part. Now I ask: Does "tax exempt" equal welfare? Does a political party make that decision? Tax exemption doesn't exist in an economical vacuum, so somebody has to pay for it. Who will it be? When political parties make it obvious that they do not want to pay taxes publicly and then ask for exemptions, does that not seem a bit silly? Yeah, you're gonna get audited/scrutinized. Do all Americans have to pay for YOUR party's welfare? I would say no! Just pay your part for now and vote when the time comes.

So the IRS is fine with a non-profit Jewish group which zealously advocate views on Israel that's the same as the Administration? Like J Street?
And any group which says they want to 'make America a better place' in their purposeis suspect, even if they want to build homes or improve children's health?Because that's what the IRS was doing.

8 Nothing new here folks. Nixon did the same thing and I believe the result for Obama will be the same as for "Tricky Dick."

9 When it all comes out we will find that the IRS and EPA was directed is some way by our Black sheep president and/or his cronies. Selecting one group to target is criminal and should be treated so.
BUT IT WON'T BE. WILL IT? That would be RACIST. Fair play for all is RACIST.

Over 500 Tea Party organizations have been targeted by this corrupt administration. Senate Democrats and the Obama cronies are responsible for this corruption.

Kenyan politics in America. Obama talks shit but does nothing to punish the guilty which means he's part of the quilty.

10 Jay Carney is nothing but Obama's butt boy. How is it the Obama's 1/2 brother got his illegal charity approved in less than 30 days? Yet conservative groups wait for years. The Obama admin is corrupt. Takes a real bonehead not to see it.

11 TYKC: Say what? I didn't get the message. Can you be a bit clearer for those of us are slow. I really can't see your message. Thx

12 @ 6-
You don't know what party (if any) is mine. Don't assume. You know what that leads to.

13 The fact that political repression by the government in power while working to keep the party in power by any means necessary overt or covertly is what we are seeing here.
We have seen this type of power abused before in this nation, with audits, enemies lists, surrendering and quitting the battlefield of a long fought war.
Break-ins and wire tapping of a rival political parties campaign offices.
The POTUS then was Richard Milhous Nixon, He resigned along with his VPOTUS to keep from being Impeached and possibly jailed for perjury and outright lying.
Just as the Current POTUS, Barack Hussein Obama aka Barry Soretero aka Choomey.
All in all, Nixon is what Obama has evolved into, and that's what Obama is. A Nixonian POTUS with all the ruffles and flourishes, bells and whistles. A lying Politician by the common known name.

AW: The claim being made in comments is that the IRSis going after non-profits which are engaged in politics, with all the questions and demands for documentation, and not only Tea Party/conservative groups/pro-Israel groups. But the IRS isn't going after groups like J Street, which is a non-profit that is involved in politics. The difference? J Street is shillsthe sameviews on Israel as the White House.

And the IRS was going after groups that had said they wanted to 'make a bettter America' or something similar. It's hard to see how that automatically makes the group a Tea Party or a conservative organization (The group might want to build houses like Habitat of Humanity, or improve the lives of Children.) - unless you are a leftist employee of the IRS who thinks those are buzz words for the Tea Party.

15 Get off Tricky Dick Nixon. Why? Because he kept unemployment at 5%. Anyone who does that gets a pass.

16 I see. Isn't it a shame that political hatred has now entered the government workplace. Democrats and Republicans (conservatives) are more like enemies than political groups. Not quite Sunni and Shia but getting closer everyday. It started with unions and the venom they spread toward those that don't agree with them. They took up the violent method of getting what they wished. Look what happens in the Soviet Union between the Reds and Whites or Germany with the National Socialists and communists. These things build and build until they explode and the most vicious always wins the first round. Who is the most vicious here?
