Each Terrorist in GITMO Costs US 80k Per Year

Of course there is a much cheaper way to deal with this issue.

1 Ahhh Howie most of those still being held there have already been cleared for release by the military. As for then rest: well if KSM had been tried in NYC 3 years ago when he was happy/willing to plead guilty then by now he would have been sentenced. The military commission have had a very poor track record on dealing with terrorists. The Federal Court system has had an excellent record.
Too much chance for command influence to play a part when the military are involved: under Bush the military commission got 2 life sentences, 2 not guilty and 2 time served + 6 months.
The Federal civilian courts have 500 plus convictions for terrorism. Many of our own military officers who have been assigned as attorneys for the defendants have requested to be reassigned.

2 Give them Xarifs HIV+ goat...
Cost savings ---- priceless...

3 Yeah but really wall we needed was three officers and a firing squad in theater.

Unlawful combatants may be subject to execution on capture.

4 Just set up a WWII style prison camp and be done with it.

Gitmo is warm all year. Leave the walls off the shitter, showers, and the barracks.

Set up machineguns, and throw food in. Make it all vegetarian, since they only want to eat halal meat.

5 Odie: If you want intel, and don't just shoot them, you give up the right to put them up against a wall.

Which is too bad.

6 2 dollar bullet would save the government loads of moolah, even if they are innocent.

7 Greetings:

BAck in my military daze, it was referred to as "the 9-cent solution. It was part of the POW calculus.

And once again, the POW calculus:

1) You don't ever want to fight anyone twice;

2) Some POWs may have useful information;

3) Capture, relocation and detention of POWs requires the
use of scarce resources.

If I catch them, I'll do the math.

8 I disagree! if we are to shoot them we can use a less powerful cartridge than the 7.62 x 39 mm I'd recommend a .25 ACP and point blank range right up the snoot.
It may take the scum longer to die but that will be quite a pleasant distraction.

9 @obsidian

Great idea!

Lets take it a step further and go with .22 shorts. I mean if they wiggle too long we can always bill the family for the second round.

10 But there's a terrible shortage of ammunition. Sequester, you know. Where would the government get a hundred rounds of real bullets? Jannet needs all hers for, like, target practice and stuff.

Posted by: Storm Saxon's Gall Bladder at April 10, 2013 03:43 PM

11 ... and .22s would be even cheaper than 7.62s.

no, wait - a sledge hammer

Posted by: Tyler at April 10, 2013 05:59 PM

12 Hmm, that ammo is dodgy. It says Mil Spec, but they are hollow points, prohibited under the Hague convention and banned for military use by all NATO countries. Unless broncobama has changed the rules and not told anyone. He wouldn't just make up his own rules would he?

13 Cheaper: 10-story building with a plank and a dumpster below filled with broken glass and bacon.

14 Since they like shria and wahabis, how about a shar... dull sword to the neck.
Or the Mid East favorite - Rocks.

Posted by: Kafiroon at April 10, 2013 10:48 PM

15 a rope is cheaper and can be reused.

Or, since I like shrimp and wasabi, how about a shark.... with them tied to a rock?

18 I always thought that the day they (GITMOP barnarians) would be transfered to the US that they would ALL be put on one plane and that plane would 'unfortunately' crash, killing all aboad but for some reason the crews names were never recorded and their bodies would never be recovered.

It happens.

19 Let's see, dial back the clock to WWII, and how many of these pieces of shit would be standing? That's what it takes, not a bunch of bed wetting Congress clowns and traitors. Yes, that means you, Obama.
