Two Czech Women Abducted in SW Pakistan

hanka_tonca_domu_unosx.jpgIf we can put aside for a moment the stupidity of traveling to SW Pakistan, for any reason, let alone being female and western, two women are missing.

Radio Prague: The Czech Republic has intensified diplomatic efforts to try to secure the release of two Czech women kidnapped in south-west Pakistan last week. No one has claimed responsibility for the abduction or asked for a ransom. Although the Pakistani authorities are working on the case, previous kidnappings in the troubled province suggest it may take weeks to find them.

The two young women, both in their mid-20s, were on the road to Quetta, the capital of Pakistaní south-west Baluchistan province, accompanied by a police escort, when their van was stopped by a group of armed assailants and all three were seized. The police guard was later released and the young tourists were forced into a brown Land Rover and smuggled away to an unknown destination. The identity of the assailants remains unknown and no request for a ransom has so far been made. The Czech Foreign Ministry says that while communication channels with the local authorities are open no immediate results can be expected. Foreign Minister Karel Schwarzeberg:

We pray they are found and returned safely, but its not very likely and we don't expect it.

1 Islamisists aside, there are plenty of old fashioned bandits in the hill country. If some warlord sent his goons to grab the girls for ransom or involuntary matrimony he isn't going to claim credit, but that would have a dim chance of seeing them still alive at the end of this month. But it's not very likely and we don't expect it.

Sorry, I can't.

3 I don't even want to know why they were there.
Stupid jihadis will kill them.
A smart warlord will sell them.

4 Ain't olla pleased when they rape the woman they have 'taken with their right hand'?

5 They are either dead, after the usual "treatment", or in the hold of a stinking dhow / executive jet, bound for Yemen or some other M.E. slave culture.

6 It is a tragedy that millions will be tortured and killed before the world wakes up to the evil of Islam. That is if it ever does wake up. Think about it. It took over 400 hundred years to unify and fight back the first time Islam tried to conquer the world. Alas, we are going to repeat the process because we are not to teaching what really happened between 620 and 1090 AD.

7 A devout and unified Christiondom stopped Islam the first time they attempted to conquer the West. In France, Spain and Austria. Do you believe the Christians are that united in their religion today? All were Catholics then. The numbers are about equal but what about the will to conquer? One wishes to conquer the other defend what it has. Not a good outlook when one side believes in fair play and the other conquest as their religion teaches. The non Islamic world needs to do some serious re-evaluation. Islamics never ease up on the pressure. They play by different rules and take advantage of every misguided sense of what the west considers decent and equal. At this time we are the fools. We even import the enemy and at time pay them to live in our midst. Take a look at Dearborn, Mich. 8th largest city in the United States.

It's the same all over. Young people are naive. They have the idea bad things only happen to others and if confronted by dangerthey can "negotiate" their safety.

Darwin was correct.

Those that survive a horrific experience usually don't repeat their idocy again.

9 They probably wish they'd never heard of Pakistan.

10 They are going to end up servicing the Valiant Lions of the Magreb or some such bullshit Islamic Jihadist group.

11 Apparently these women were in Iran travelling and wanted to go to India and stay there for 2 months to go more travelling. They couldn't afford the flights to India and decided to take a land route from Iran to India via Pakistan. Obviously they took a very big gamble, when they should have known that Pakistan's Baluchistan region or even any territory within Pakistan is very risky for a foreign tourist. Yes they did pay for police security, but Baluchistan is infected with suicide bombers and kidnappers, who have more weapons than the local police force or even some army units. I hope these women are found and released.

12 Normally leaving Iran is a good thing.

13 I have lived in Europe and have never understood the urge for 19 and 20 year old youth to go out "backpacking". These young people literally go to some far off place (like all of Europe, Turkey, Asia and North Africa) and live like vagrants.

Perhaps it's because I was wearing a uniform when I did the same thing.

But the problem is the young ladies seem to think they can wear skimpy clothes wherever they visit.

Sucks for the loved ones of these travelers.

14 @dc

The young ladies certainly wouldn't been allowed to wear skimpy clothes in a place like Iran, where women by law are forced to wear veils around their heads when going outside. So saying that they wore skimpy clothes is ridiculous, when Iran doesn't allow any women, whether they are Iranians or foreigners to go outside without a scarf around their heads. Also when they entered Pakistan, I guaranteed they didn't strip their clothes off and worn G-strings and bikinis !!

WT F are these women thinking?
Why would anyone go to such a place....were they looking for a rich romanticsheikh???

16 Teenage girls fall for multiculturalism propaganda, and will probably lose their lives, or end up enslaved.

Too bad.

17 Ooops. Oh well ... mid Twenties is still young and stupid.

18 Take off your clothes and run backwards through a field of ripe corn for a general idea of the consequences of their actions...
