3 Would-be Bombers on Trial in UK

The three men are using the "it was just all talk" defense. Ok, but what kind of sick bastard thinks it's cool to claim that you were trained by al Qaeda and that you were going to kill British soldiers on UK soil?

Three men discussed using suicide vests, rucksack bombs and guns to kill British soldiers, a court has heard.

Irfan Naseer, Irfan Khalid and Ashik Ali, all of Birmingham, deny conduct in preparation of terrorist acts.

Prosecutors told Woolwich Crown Court the three men had "glorified" the 9/11 attacks and that Mr Ali made the claim about the plan to attack soldiers during a police interview....

Mr Naseer told the jury that, in his conversations that were secretly recorded, he was in fact only pretending to be a terrorist to make himself look big.

I've no idea if these guys actually intended to kill anyone. But the important point is being missed by the BBC: there is a sub-culture in the UK where it's not only ok to claim that the jihadis are the good guys, but it's a point of pride to claim that you are in al Qaeda and you want to kill British soldiers.

Thanks to uptight

2 I think we should help that poor guy out. Spending 10 years in prison will help him look even bigger than pretending to be a terrorist. Hopefully a judge will make that happen for him.
