UK: Imminent Threat Against Westerners In #Benghazi
LONDON (AP) — Britain urged its citizens Thursday to immediately leave the eastern Libyan city of Benghazi in response to what it described as an imminent threat against Westerners. The warning comes a day after U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton testified to the Senate about a deadly September attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi that killed four Americans, including the ambassador to Libya. It also comes as French troops battle al-Qaida linked militants in Mali, and follows the deaths of dozens of foreigners at the hands of Islamist extremists in Algeria — though it remained unclear if those two events were linked to the U.K. warning about Libya. Who did the head count, anyway? Whatare the before and after numbers on this 'decimation'? 90% still seems pretty functional to me even if true.
