Virginia Lawmaker Who Brandished AK-47 Has History Of Violence

The Virginia lawmaker thought he'd use this stunt to show how easy it was to carry assault weapons into public places. But did he violate the law in doing so?

A Virginia lawmaker who drew gasps from his colleagues when he brandished a borrowed AK-47 during an anti-gun speech Thursday was found guilty in 2002 of committing a vicious 1999 assault, was sanctioned for legal misconduct while prosecuting a rape case, spent six months in jail for contempt of a federal court, and saw his law license revoked in 2003. According to legal brief filed by the victim's attorneys, Morrissey shouted, "I'm going to kill you. I'm going to beat your head in," before beating the victim and "smash[ing] his head into the corner of a brick wall."

Morrissey was charged with Aggravated Malicious Wounding, a felony in Virginia. He was ultimately convicted of a lesser charge of assault & battery, a misdemeanor. A misdemeanor does not usually limit a convict's legal right to possess a weapon. However, a history of violence should.

I find it particularly amusing that the same Democratic lawmakers who think law-abiding gun owners are not responsible enough to own guns don't even know how to safely hold a weapon!

1 Well he is not the only dumbshiite. Local news (Tampa area) reported that there were 3 "accidental" shootings at 3 different gun shows.

2 At some craft stores women are burning themselves and even their children accidentally with very hot glue guns.
Framers and carpenters are maiming themselves with the infamous rotary skil saw, the nail gun and 28 oz hammers.
Strippers along the entire United States are suffering from stripper pole burns.
Horse riders (Equestrians) are being injured and killed when cars driving wildly or loud motorcycles make them spook.
Bicycle riders are spending more time watching what cars and trucks and dogs will do as they ride by because that's what injures the bikers.
If the media focus laser like on just gun incidents all the other incidents with people using tools or being menaced by tools seem to just disappear.
An accident is when you or someone else unintentionally cause injury to them selves or someone else whether it's a gun, or hammer or swimming pool we are all capable of having an accident with any tool not just guns.
The worst accident is getting your hair or clothes caught in a spinning lathe which makes a gun shot look quite tame.
