Illinois Teacher Accused of Giving Too Much

Kayla M. Trueblood.jpg(Mossville, Illinois) A 22-year-old gifted education teacher at Mossville Junior High and Elementary School, Kayla Trueblood, has been accused of engaging in sex with a male teen student.

Trueblood has been charged with aggravated criminal sexual abuse.

The alleged victim is a 16-year-old boy and a student at Illinois Valley Central High School. According to the Peoria County Sheriff's Department, he is not a student of Trueblood's.

One alleged incident of abuse happened at Mossville Elementary after school hours.

As a 22-year-old gifted education teacher, Trueblood apparently wasn't aware that there's a point at which a teacher should stop giving. Trueblood was booked into custody at the Peoria County Jail.(Tip: DRiehl)

4 She is a young teacher. She obviously is fresh out of college. Just think of the number of applicants that were tossed aside so the school could hire some "young" teacher, with whom they think students can "better connect." There are literally thousands and thousands of out of work teachers, and the school districts discriminate against older, more experienced applicants. Predators like this don't belong in our schools, and schools need to really re-think about how they screen applicants.
