Barack Obama, The Desperate Wimp

Today, at work, I was listening to random selections at Youtube and came across a segment from the Rush Limbaugh Show. It is a bizarre exchange between Rush and a liberal caller:

Out of curiosity, I sought out the article to which Rush referred.

In March of last year, Michael Ledeen wrote "What Would A Desperate Wimp Do?" In the article, Ledeen says he worried about how Jimmy Carter would try to turn around his "wimp" image during the latter months of his presidency. Those memories made Ledeen wonder how Obama might behave during the last year and a half of his first term:

But Iím starting to have the same worries about Obama. To be sure, heís got a press that is considerably friendlier than Carter had, but even so we are seeing quite a number of stories about a president who just canít seem to make decisions, who doesnít seem to get it when terrible things happen, things that cry out for American leadership. The wimp seems to be mounting a comeback. If he gets tarred with that brush, he might start considering options to recreate his image. [...]

To be sure, I worry just as much ó no, I worry even more ó about two more long years of appeasement and retreat, leaving us with a world of emboldened enemies and frightened friends and allies. But thatís the world weíve been given already by this administration, a world in which the current main enemy ó Iran ó is running amok (killing our guys in Iraq and Afghanistan, organizing an anti-democratic and anti-American mass movement throughout the Middle East, shipping weapons to the forces of evil in Gaza, Sudan, Yemen, Somalia, etc. etc.), just as the Soviets did during the last wimp in the White House. It could get much worse.

I believe that Obama is viscerally opposed to the effective use of American leadership and American power, believing as he does that the big problems of this earth are the consequences of past American sins, which in turn were based on the misguided doctrine of American exceptionalism. Some say that the minisurge in Afghanistan gives the lie to that picture, and there is no doubt that we are waging Obamaís war as vigorously as we know how. We shall soon see how serious he is about it, and I am rooting for him to stay the course, even though I am a military dad and I do not enjoy seeing Americans on the battlefield. I rather expect to see him try to wiggle out of his war, but I will be pleased to be wrong.

In any event, there are always exceptions, and I think the presidentís overall approach to the world is that of a humble penitent, not a proud leader. Ask Colonel Gaddafi. Better yet, ask those poor fighters in Bengazi, waiting to die in the next few days.

Remember, Ledeen wrote this before Benghazi, when the Arab Spring was in it's infancy before the US involvement with Libyan and Egyptian uprisings. He wrote it back in March 2011.

And how prophetic Ledeen was. Carter's attempt to shed his "wimp" image came too late, according to Ledeen. And it looks like Obama's was far too early. With the Arab Spring all but a failure that only succeeded in bringing Islamists to power, Obama has nothing. Except the killing of Osama bin Laden, which he makes certain we don't forget.

But his true "wimp" colors were shining through once more on September 11th, 2012. The Benghazi Embassy attacks were a somber reminder that what we need is a strong, proud leader, but what we have is just a wimp.

1 Greetings:

Personally, I'm more concerned that, if President Obama loses the election, he will go on some kind of Black and White and Red all over tear to see how much further damage he can do to the old USofA.

2 When Obama loses he will make Jimmy Carter look like a recluse. We will have to hear the asshole propagandize on EVERYTHING for ever.

3 Obama certainly is a wimp, but beyond that he is sympathetic to any third world revolutionary who hates America. Obama is a devout leftist and these people are his comrades. And that is about as far as Obama gets from his anti-white racism.
