China Marine: A final performance for 4th Marine Band
From 1927 to 1941, members of the 4th Marine Regiment were stationed in Shanghai, China, protecting American citizens and their property in the Shanghai International Settlement during the Chinese Revolution and the second Sino-Japanese War. On Nov. 29, 1941, the final element of the 4th Marine Regiment marched to the city's waterfront led by the 'Last China Band,' bound for the Philippines. It would be their final performance.
