Samir Khan's Father Led US Branch of Tanzeem al-Islami
I was reading this article by a Pakistani "journalist" lamenting that poor misguided Samir Khan's UN rights were theoretically violated when the US targeted an al-Qaeda cell in Yemen.
pakistankakhudahafiz.com: Awlaki is now dead. What is saddening though, is that along with him, a young Pakistani-American named Samir Khan was also murdered. His brief profile is available for everyone to search on the Internet. Samir was just 25. One might ask, “Even if he was young? Why should he be exempt from the law?” This is precisely my question. Since when have drone strikes become a tool of justice? Killing people extra-judicially is known as murder in the civilized world which America rants about, why then this discrimination?Lets set aside all the BS about killing an enemy combatant during a time of war being unlawful for a minute. I mean the charge is laughable at best. But there are more interesting facts here. First of all lets look at the charge that Samir was misguided. The author, who also adds comments in the article, is one Zaki Khalid. His comments link to. http://www.tanzeem.org/ which is the website of the Pakistani based group Tanzeem-e-Islami. You can find other examples of his work here, on his blog here, and on his twitter page here. The link to Tanzeem is significant in that as reported by the The Anti- Defamation League
Samir Khan's early writing concentrated on Tanzeem al-Islami.Samir Khan's first inshaAllahshaheed blog, launched in 2004, mainly included materials about Tanzeem-e-Islami, a radical anti-Semitic group based in Pakistan that has a presence in the U.S. Khan, who became involved with Tanzeem as a teenager through a summer program in Queens run by local members of the group, has identified himself as a member, specifically with the New York Chapter, on various posts to online forums over the years.
Tanzeem-e-Islami, which describes itself as part of a movement to establish a global Islamic state, or the "khilafah," has a long record of anti-Semitism. For example, in August 2004, Tanzeem's Pakistan-based leader, Israr Ahmed, warned during an appearance at the Peshawar Press Club that "the evil genius of the Jews and the world's only superpower, America, had joined hands" to "eliminate [Islam] from the face of the earth."The Investigative Project notes that Tanzeem-e-Islami has a North American branch called the Islamic Organization of North America. The author above who is obviously a shill for Islamist interests in Pakistan notes the following...
Samir’s father Mr. Zafar Khan is a respected Islamic scholar who was once the Ameer of the Islamic Organization of North America. So who was it again that was the basis of Samir's misguidance? The author then continues to assert that al-qaeda does not exist and in the next breath states that Samir was a member of al-Qaeda. Repeat after me, Osama bin-Laden is NOT IN PAKISTAN! We swear. The argument is not so much over the goal but the means to the goal. Tanzeem claims it wants to implement the same goals as al-Qaeda yet it wants to do it peacefully.
Investigative Project: Ahmad's views are not limited to anti-Jewish rhetoric. He's also a leading advocate of Islamic supremacy and the revival of the Caliphate. A simple trip to the Islamic Organization of North America's website would have led the FBI to articles calling for this. Some of the links are now defunct (perhaps due to bad press from the National Post), but their content can be judged clearly by their titles. According to the National Post, the Tanzeem-e-Islami's "goal is to establish the system of social justice of the Caliphate [Islamic state] firstly in Pakistan and then in the whole world," and that Ahmad's "ideal state" would include the following three principles:Tanzeem advocates that peaceful inner struggle Jihad to destroy the Jews and rule the world. That same peaceful inner struggle that we see every day in Pakistan."(1) Sovereignty belongs to Almighty Allah alone; (2) No legislation can be done at any level that is totally or partially repugnant to Koran and Sunnah, and; (3) Full citizenship of the state is for the Muslims only."
