Pandemonium in Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab's Pants
UPDATE: Pleads Guilty!

"Hey Dude, your pants are on fire."

Airline passenger Michael Zantow realized something was amiss on Flight 253 to Detroit when he heard a passenger tell Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab: "Hey, dude, your pants are on fire."
Over Abdulmutallab's objections, the prosecution also may show a photo of his burned genitalia. U.S. District Judge Nancy Edmunds on Tuesday said she didn't object to the photo being shown.

Update: Rather than suffer the humiliation of having his crispy junk exposed to the jury Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab has changed his plea to guilty.

Smartest move he's ever made, although I'm sure disappointed I didn't get to write a post on the jury's reaction to his overcooked wiener.

UPDATE by Rusty: Wow, I don't think any one saw this one coming, but his explanation is par for the course for a member of al Qaeada. I broke your law, but God wanted me to kill you!

Accused underwear bomber Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab pleaded guilty to eight criminal charges, including conspiring to commit terrorism, in a major surprise on the second day of his trial....

Abdulmutallab, in fluent English, then read from a lengthy statement saying he was guilty under U.S. law, but not under Islamic law, for the crimes charged.

He said he tried to carry out the bombing in retaliation for the murder of innocent civilians by the United States in Iraq, Afghanistan, Somalia, Israel and elsewhere.

He warned that a calamity would befall the U.S. if it continued to murder innocent Muslims worldwide...

"If you laugh at us now, we will laugh at you later," he said in the statement.

How about I laugh at you now, and then I laugh at you later, and then I laugh at you later some more??

It's not he who laughs last that laughs hardest. Sometimes, it's just the guy who didn't just blow up his own penis!
