INTERPOL Issues Global Alert For Terror Leader
An urgent worldwide security alert, or Orange Notice, has been issued by INTERPOL after the escape of an alleged leader of the Jemaah Islamiyah terrorist group from a jail in Singapore. Mas Selamat bin Kastari escaped from the Whitley Road Detention Centre on Wednesday 27 February where he was being held following his deportation from Indonesia to Singapore in February 2006. Mas Selamat bin Kastari planned to bomb Singapore Changi Airport in 2002, and further investigations confirmed that he had initially planned to do so by crashing a plane through the airport.
Jemaah Islamiyah(Islamic State) was added to the United Nations 1267 Committee's list of terrorist organizations linked to al-Qaeda or the Taliban on 10/25/02 under UN Security Council Resolution 1267. Jemaah Islamiyah terrorist group is known to have killed hundreds of civilians in the Bali car bombing. In the attack, suicide bombers killed 202 people, mostly Australian tourists, and wounded many in two blasts.I hope they find him soon before he meets back up with his group.
