American Youth Reportedly Kidnapped

The terrorist group Ansar al-Sunnah is claiming responsibility for the kidnapping.

Ynet: Palestinian security officials are verifying claims made by an extremist Islamic group that it kidnapped an American youth in the West Bank city of Nablus, officials said Wednesday.

A fax sent to the Reuters news agency by Ansar A-Sunna, a group affiliated with al-Qaeda in Iraq, shows a copy of an American citizens' passport and a copy of his entry visa to Israel.

Palestinian security officials said all terror groups contacted over the claim denied involvement.

Rabi'a Abu Layl, a senior activist with the al-Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades, told Ynet: "Not only we have no contact with them, but we condemn the incident. If this youth was kidnapped in Nablus itself, then the issue is serious since foreign teenagers staying here despite the situation are usually volunteers who come to help us on humanitarian missions."

Yes, it usually is those least deserving of being abused that the terrorists choose, those who work hard to help the Palestinians and Muslims. The terrorists have an interest in targeting those people lest the illusion that we are the Great Satan be shattered. Itís also a way to get the most sympathy and therefore a better chance of making some cash for bomb belts.

We pray for and demand this innocent non-combatants's immediate release.

Update. The victim one Michael Leighton Phillips, 24 has been released.

1 The kid is probably a moonbat. Anyone stupid enough to go to Nablus with the current situation there (or anywhere in Pali occupied Israeli land) deserves what they get. I have no sympathy for stupidity.

2 Much like Sister Leonella who was at the wrong place at the wrong time.

No sympathy, eh?

Well aren't you the big man.

Regardless of political leanings, no one deserves getting their head chopped off by a bunch of satanists.

3 I second that thang! Time to revisit disproportionate response!

4 Happens all the time Big White Infidel. I appluade his trying to help. Liberals need to learn that the terrorists have no sympathy for them. Seems like they often learn that the hard way. Ironic how they never realize this until they find themselves captive.

5 Yup. Moonbat city.

Enjoy you new buddies, dipshit.

6 I agree he shouldn't be kidnapped but he had to know the risks especially in that area. Maybe he was trying to be another Rachel Corrie? We'll find out.

My brother (Stan the Infidel) and I live in Indonesia and I've lived in Israel, Bahrain and India previously. Anyone can be in the wrong place at the wrong time by accident, but common sense tells you to cut down your risks. I've met lots ofex-pats working in those countries that thought the bad guys won't harmthem because they are helping their people. This is utter stupidity and this guy probably had the same mentality. Some of them are dead now.

White guys who convert to Islam here in Indonesia to marry Muslim girls get abuse hurled at them all the time from Muslims. They don't look at them as brothers, they look at them as some white dude who stole one of their women. My brother is more optimistic than I am. I love Indonesia but I hate Muslims. When you have a 6 year old Muslim kid that you're trying help call you infidel, you get cynical pretty quick.

Posted by: Big White Infidel at October 11, 2006 12:50 PM

7 I sure. You're better than I am.. I wouldnt help them (muslims) at all, no matter their age or plight.

Posted by: JeepThang at October 11, 2006 01:11 PM

8 I'm sure*.. was in a hurry.

Posted by: JeepThang at October 11, 2006 01:18 PM

9 Furthermore,

"White guys who convert to Islam here in Indonesia to marry Muslim girls..."

That must be some powerful ass to make a man change religions! Wow!

Posted by: JeepThang at October 11, 2006 01:28 PM

10 The (Islamic) Republic of Indonesia doesn't allow mixed marriages. So if a guy wants to marry a Muslim girl, hehas to convert or if a woman wants to marry a Muslim man, same thing because they aren't going to convert for you. One of my co-workers when I was in Jakartaconverted to get married. He had to stand in front of about 20 guys at the mosque and show that he was circumsized. And then do I love Satan there is no God but Satan speech. He had to go to Friday prayers for two months to prove that he wasn't just converting on paper to get married. He thought it was going to be easy. hahaha!! Sucker. There are tons of hot chicks here but if you want to marry one ya gotta convert. Not fun if Mr Happy is still wearing histurtleneck. OUCH!!!

11 Ever consider that these missionaries types might be fully aware of the dangers but proceed anyhow because they are braver than most of us bloggers sitting behind keyboards?

12 Jeep Thang, me thinks " I sure " is probably much more comprehensible to the simple minded mentality of the people who frequent this blog. LOL

13 The Project Hope Director blames the Israeli military for making the West Bank dangerous. Has this guy been there? If it wasn't for Israeli military and police still there the West Bank would be a zoo just like Gaza. I wouldn't have been able to go Bethlehem, Jordan River and Jericho if it weren't for Israeli security.

14 What is an American youth doing in a West Bank city? Simple. Being stupid. Now I wonder how much this is going to cost and who pays the bill?

Posted by: Greyrooster at October 12, 2006 03:53 PM

15 I agree rooster. You are right. There are other ways to support whatever the lad was doing besides putting his physical presence there.
