Army Exceeds Recruiting Target--Again

America, f*ck yeah:

So far this fiscal year, which ends September 30, the Army has recruited 51,612 soldiers, almost 2,000 more than it hoped to at this point. . . . Despite back-to back combat deployments, the Army is also retaining soldiers at high rate: some two-thirds of all soldiers eligible to re-enlist have done so, according to Army data which includes active and reserves.
This is especially surprising given the oft-repeated "fact" that America's soldiers have "lost faith" in the mission and are "demoralized".

1 And as always, good news for the country is bad news for the Leftwing and the jihadis.

2 Although a part of me felt that I should not view the images of these two heroic young men, another part of me was compelled to do so because I needed to see with my own eyes what these animals are capable of. The people that did this are not human. Less than human. They are demons. Satan's spawn. My heart goes out to the family members, especially to the parents of these brave young men and I pray to God that these young men did not suffer. As for the animals that did this, I hope they are caught and made to pay for this. I feel that this war is one big mess and is not going to end any time soon. But one thing I do know is that the young men and women serving over there are the most bravest individuals in the world. I support each and every one of them just as they support each other in the battlefields of Iraq and I pray for their safe return home. You see my son is one of them. He is a US soldier, on a tour in Iraq in the city of Momadiyah (not certain of spelling) as well. He has been there almost a year and has had many near misses (almost drowned when humvee overturned in a canal, a near miss from a hand-held missile launched at him, as well as gun battles). I pray to God every day and night for his safe return from that hell on earth as well as his comrades-in-arms.

4 Funny thing is that I'm constantly being reminded of the "True Fact" that Army recruiting is at an all time low.

5 Army recruiting is down... I am in the process of transferring from the Air Force (enlisted) in to the Army as an Officer.

Standards and quotas have been substantially dropped. Age to enter rose to over 40 years old, criminal records looked over (YES THERE ARE KNOWN ACTIVE GANG MEMBERS IN THE ARMY), etc. Out of the millions and millions in this country, its ashamed most will not step up. That's just the sad fact. More people will talk about patriotism and supporting our troops but will not put there own life on the line.

DO NOT believe everything you read. Retention is indeed up, the average soldier pulls in an additional $1000-$2000 + in benefits from fighting in theater. The price of freedom is more tangible than you may think. And the color of freedom is Green… Army green and cash green.

And PS – Approximately 15-25% of those in the military are democrats and/or leftist. Before you open your political pie-hole, ensure you have earned your credibility of who is really supporting the war and who is just giving us more lip-service.

6 I've read the same thing DarkStar posits elsewhere ("Standards and quotas have been substantially dropped").

At the same time, I don't see a shortage.

There are a lot more people who could sign up for service, but don't.

If recruitment was a seriuos problem, I'm sure it would be solved quickly by a steady series of Presidential appeals.
"Your country needs you. We are asking for all eligible Americans aged xx-xx to sign up now."

I think I've only ever heard the President make a side comment encouraging people to join.

Recruiting seems to be doing business as usual, with no obvious desperation for new recruits. I'm still tossing around the idea of joining up. I see it as civic duty, but not as a dire necessity.

p.s. 12-25%...so THAT'S where the sane Democrats went! :p

7 Agreed. I do not believe there is a real need for more people because those doing the job are more than enough, just tired, and the military is handling that already. I have met a lot of liberals and democrats in the military and although I do not care to listen to their rhetoric, they are entitled to their opinion and DO-DO what is ordered of them.

The latest news is that the Army is allowing in racist and known members of hate-groups... NOT GOOD NEWS!
