RUSSIAN LAWYER WHO CONNIVED MEETING WITH TRUMP JR. MET WITH FUSION GPS CO-FOUNDER BEFORE AND AFTER MEETING

#FusionCollusion.

As a friend kept telling me, and as I've only recently agreed: this was an op from start to finish.

By the way, I think this woman's name is pronounced vessel-knit-skya.

The co-founder of Fusion GPS, the firm behind the unverified Trump dossier, met with a Russian lawyer before and after a key meeting she had last year with Trump’s son, Fox News has learned. The contacts shed new light on how closely tied the firm was to Russian interests, at a time when it was financing research to discredit then-candidate Donald Trump.

The opposition research firm has faced renewed scrutiny after litigation revealed that the DNC and Hillary Clinton's campaign paid for that research. Congressional Republicans have since questioned whether that politically financed research contributed to the FBI's investigation of Russian collusion with the Trump campaign --making Fusion's 2016 contacts with Russian interests all the more relevant.

The June 2016 Trump Tower meeting involving Donald Trump Jr. and Russian lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya occurred during a critical period. At that time, Fox News has learned that bank records show Fusion GPS was paid by a law firm for work on behalf of a Kremlin-linked oligarch while paying a former British spy Christopher Steele to dig up dirt on Trump through his Russian contacts.

But hours before the Trump Tower meeting on June 9, 2016, Fusion co-founder and ex-Wall Street Journal reporter Glenn Simpson was with Veselnitskaya in a Manhattan federal courtroom, a confidential source told Fox News. Court records reviewed by Fox News, email correspondence and published reports corroborate the pair's presence together. The source told Fox News they also were together after the Trump Tower meeting.

It looks like FusionGPS wasn't just engaging in "passive measures" like research and smears. It looks like they were also attempting active measures to compromise Trump.

Why? For Hillary? Or for their Russian paymasters in case Trump won the election?

Or is it just a case of the interests of two different clients happily aligning?

Visual Representation: Below, a photograph of the collusion between Russia, Hillary, Fusion GPS, and Fusion's embeds in the media.

Honeypot? Set-Up?

PJ Media speculated that Veselnitskya might be a plant, and Rush Limbaugh said he suspected a "set-up."

I do not doubt that the #SmartSet and #NeverTrump crew called this all crazy conspiracy mongering by racist populist nationalists.

They're so smart. I wish I could be wrong all the time like the Smart Set.

70 So Democrat groups and the DNC conspired to illegally avoid election laws by laundering money through a law firm. They further colluded to carry out active and passive schemes in order to both fallaciously compromise the Trump campaign and gain a falsified cause for obtaining a FISA warrant, which high government officials used in order to have the U.S. intelligence apparatus spy on a presidential campaign. They further, illegally, distributed U.S. intelligence data to campaign officials and illegally leaked documents to the media. They further carried out a scheme to undermine the president-elect of the United States, by continuing to selectively leak unfounded, fallacious allegations and provide the appearance of a phony Russian influence peddling operation, which served the dual purpose of covering their conspiracy, which they knew would eventually be uncovered once Mr. Trump won the election. In the course of these actions, the former Director of the FBI participated in the scheme by meeting with the president-elect as a premise for an illegal press leak.

I made it easy. The DoJ and FBI can simply cut and paste this into charging documents and simply add the various USC cites.

124 I think it's as simple as it seems.

Early in the election (late primaries, I believe) the media was rattling on and on about Trump being so unqualified and that all world leaders hated him.

Then they (mis)quote Putin calling Trump "bright" (turns out a closer translation to the russian word would be "colorful," and not in a complimentary way.) Trumps asked for a response and he does his normal Trump thing -- "Putin? Hell of a guy. Great leader! Love him, said great things about me."

And boom, the Clinton campaign and media were off to the races to make the Russians (previously an ally who the D's liked) the enemy and to say "SEE? Trump only likes enemies!" and the rest of the meme was born there.

Fake dossier, Clinton campaign (or at least Fusion) trying to set up Trump, etc. etc.

That's the entirety of the story. It would have all gone away on election day if Hillary had won like she thought she would. but since she didnt, the left was like "hmmm... we got nothing, so lets run with this russia thing"

Why would they waste any time and effort getting involved in our election? The Clintons had been good to the Russians in the past, why risk getting on their shit list by doing something that made Hillary angry (or even happy) during the election?

They had zero incentive to waste time or money getting involved in the US election this time around.

So they had one world leader who said something less negative then that about Trump, and he said "hell of a guy!" or whatever Trumpian thing he said, and the media was like "hmmm... lets run with this angle" then they memory-holed the whole "Russias our ally and bestest friend!' thing and shifted gears to "Putin is a thug and the worst thing since literal Hitler" to "Putin and Trump are both literal hitler with a plan to imprison all gays!" (or whatever)

a) the sanctions (in the form of frozen assets) are only against a handful of people and companies with assets in USDs. The Russians / Swiss / Germans / Chinese / Japanese etc. also have big banks. Russian oligarchs also invest in a lot of real estate around the world. The sanctions aren't hurting the Russian government (much).

Someone of Russian nationality might have been involved in this (the russian lawyer chick), but I don't know why automatically say "Putin must have been behind some 19-th dimensional chess here to fuck over the presumptive next US president" when it's not at all in his or Russians best interest to have done so.

Right, I mean, let's not pretend that the west was innocent in his latest round.

Part of our deal with Russia in the late '80s/ early 90's was "allow Germany to reunify and we won't encroach on your area of operations."

Next thing you know, NATO troops are on Russia's border.

Frankly, it's not wise to humiliate a defeated foe like that. You would think we might have learned that lesson after what the west did to Germany after WWI in Versailles and the results of that fiasco.

373 I should mention, I listened to NPR this morning, and the story was about how fake and phony Donald Trump was for insisting there was a significant voter fraud associated with illegal aliens. And about how it undermined the confidence in elections, and local election officials were NOW having to go to extraordinary lengths to reassure people that there was no voter fraud.

Naturally, in the SAME report they mentioned Russian interference in the election, as if that was a proven fact, and didn't have any impact on people's concerns. They themselves are hyping this idea of foreign interference in elections, yet are completely tone deaf about it. It was just a lesson in magical thinking and bad reporting.

Oh, and lastly, they faulted Trumps commission on voter fraud, how it had just sorta petered out, neglecting to mention that uncooperative democratic states refused to supply data necessary for them to even examine the issue, and in fact actively work to prevent anyone from investigating the issue. gee, I wonder why they would do that? Perhaps THAT would be a good target for an enterprising investigative journalist....

Yup. You also have to remember the context in which this was happening. It was in June, at the same time the FBI's Hillary email investigation was on. Comey cleared her in early July after the sham interview over July 4th weekend.

Also recall that Hillary and the DNC were reeling from the Wikileaks revelations. They needed to pin that on Trump and redirect people to blaming the ones who did it instead of the content of the leaked emails. IIRC, Seth Rich was murdered in June or July.

Hillary was desperate to create a Trump scandal on par with her scandals, so she and the DNC, and likely OFA, were working with Fusion GPS to create one.

That investigation, oh my. People were yelling about it but I was cheering it on and popping corn. It turned out exactly as I knew it would: Trump gained votes and she found horrendous malfeasence and fraud in heavy Dem areas. And overnight, suddenly it wasn't a story, just vanished. She took the left over money and went to the Caribbean to find some island boy to keep her company.

416 The only real question surrounding all of the lurid speculation
regarding "Russian interference" and "collusion" in the 2016
presidential election is this:

Would the Russians rather deal
with a known (Clinton=$) or an unknown (Trump=?) quantity when engaged
in acts of espionage and/or counterintelligence against the United
States?

Since we already know Clinton laundered information
through her private e-mail system and assets like Blumenthal and
laundered the corresponding payments for said information through CGI,
the answer is obvious to anyone with a room temperature IQ.

Comey's behavior WRT All Things Clinton was the big tipoff that this was all an op.

The question now is how many ops were designed and implemented. This was the big one because Hillary! desperately needed to redirect attention from RussoAmerican Fusion One corruption, so strong offense [however improper or illegal] was their only defense. But how many other acts have gone on or are waiting to be hatched?

This is not over. This is just the beginning. And we have a cross-party Deep State that is rogue against the People. We also have a Congress of dubious character and interest failing to defend our Democracy.

As more comes out - pray IF it comes out - they're going to get SuperTrump. And then we'll see winning bigly.

Speculation:
This is a silivoki vs Deep State war being engaged. For those that accuse the Russians of trying to destabilize us, they are probably on target as far as that goes

And here is the big BUTT
Those using that accusation in order to protect their own crimes (oblahblah, the corruption queen, the Deep State, the republican quisling club, etc) must be driven out of our politics completely, and into jail preferably.

If Trump can do this via legal methods (if he is serious about doing so), fine and dandy. But we all need to decide to what length we as individuals are going to do to preserve our freedom, security, and prosperity.

456 One poster commented that underlying reason for the Sessions recusal, lame as it was and is, provides a logical basis to call for Mueller's recusal. I agree and offer more.

Given that Mueller extended the investigatory time line to multiple years prior to the beginning of the Trump campaign [see Manafort], his participation in the Uranium 1/Russian bribery case is now within that time line. In other words, by going beyond the original mandate and expanding the scope of the investigation, Mueller brought his prior acts and omissions into the equation and as a result, needs to recuse himself.

467 It's all so fascinating. I don't think you need to say that the Fusion GPS people were trying to compromise Trump by setting up the Don. Jr. meeting. There's a much easier explanation: They were just hedging their bets and playing both sides. In case Trump won, they wanted to try and build a relationship with his people. That seems to have failed, but it makes sense that they would try that. And, I don't think there's anything nefarious about it; they were lobbying a potential incoming administration.

That's one of the thing that bugs me about this entire scandal. Everyone pretends as if presidential campaigns have no contacts with foreign governments. Not having served on a presidential campaign, I don't know the answer, but I imagine they all have an extensive network of relationships with foreign gov't officials. And, I'd be willing to bet that the Trump campaign, given its outsider status, had far fewer such international contacts that a behemoth campaign like Hillary's. Yet we never hear about what kind of contacts her campaign (or any past campaign) had with foreigners. It would certainly be a useful point of comparison for a journalist skeptical of the Russia angle. But there seem to be so few of those...
