Sorry Not Sorry: Stephanopolous Says He Won't Moderate Debates, Just to Avoid Being a "Distraction," But He's Damnsure Going to Be "Covering" His Former Boss and Recent Recipient of His Donations

As @Tark31 said on Twitter: The media's "Fuck You" machine kicks into fourth gear.

Meanwhile, it just so happens that a former campaign manager of Hillary Clinton, who managed several of her state campaigns in 2008, was an intern for George Stephanopolous.

Stephanopoulos' book, described as "a new-generation political memoir" of a man "who got his hands on the levers of awesome power at an early age," was written after he left the Clinton administration and returned to his alma mater Columbia to be a visiting professor.

Mook was an undergrad student at Columbia during Stephanopoulos' brief tenure and was already politically active. He was a member of the College Democrats and was active in Democratic politics in his home state of Vermont.

Mook was also part of the team of interns who worked under Stephanopolous' research assistant at Columbia, responsible for "reviewing thousands of pages of public records and making sure I got my facts straight," wrote Stephanopolous.

Why it's almost as if Stephanopolous' connections to the Clintons are extensive, pervasive, and profound.

And undisclosed.

23 Let's be clear - its not that he failed to disclose the donations as I have seen some suggest (no one on this board). Disclosure does not remove the conflict. The obvious and more glaring conflict was that he worked in the Clinton WH. But even if we let that slide because it was over 15 years ago (and there is no reason why we should), he has still given to the foundation of a major candidate (not just the foundation founded by Bill Clinton as Dylan Byers suggest) - the legal name of the foundation includes Hillary Clinton in it.

He has never not been a partisan, I'd just like to see all of his connection publicized, and the GOP to (finally) say "No, not this guy - not a journalist."

Meh. It's nice and all that the complete, long-standing, well-known, fairly shouted-from-the-rooftops partisan orientation of this little shit-weasel (Stuffy) is causing him problems, but meh.

Whether it's this particular little mediocre Beltway cretin, or any other (i.e. almost all "journalists" today), a public figure or candidate should have the brains and character to reject and refute their false premises, mock them, and make the points you need to make. Not an iota's difference between Stuffy and 99.5% of other reporters out there, regardless of resume or donations.

And the NPR clueless who soak in the idiot marinade will only be reached, if at all, by someone demolishing false premises and forcing important but suppressed info into the public square. Doesn't matter who the victim is on the other side of the interview.

Sorry to be such a wet towel. But that's just on subtance. Otherwise, ace is *en fuego*, for sure. For example, from the last self-enstompennated post:

"Everything out of this shitty little grifter's mouth is insincere"

Sheer poetry. However, note that strictly speaking this is probably incorrect. I have no reason to believe that Obama doesn't actually believe most of the ridiculous, untrue, and illogical things he says. He is as unworldly as a 10-yr old when it comes to important adult matters.

Except that Napoleon at 5'6" was pretty average for the late 18th to early 19th century. The story that Napoleon was short came from a combination of British propaganda and the fact that the French foot and inch in use before they went to the metric system were somewhat larger than the British foot and inch. In French measurements, Napoleon was 5 foot two inches.

This carried over into other measures as well. During the Napoleonic Wars, the British often found themselves outgunned by the French cannons even though they were both using six pounders (the cannon balls fired from the cannon weighed six pounds). However a French six pounder cannon ball weighed eight English pounds.

The red tunics that the British wore were to prevent the enemy from seeing blood on the uniform and thus gaining heart. A little known fact is that the French, once they realized what the intent of the red tunics was, promptly issued all their soldiers brown trousers.
