Judge Rules That Trayvon Martin's Toxicology Report May Be Entered Into Evidence

This will show marijuana in his body.

I think this is kind of a no-brainer ruling, but the cries of "Racist!" are as loud as you'd expect.

Mind you, I don't think having pot in your system makes you more aggressive. Quite the opposite. And I don't think they can even tell if he was high at the time or if the THC was from a week ago. But it is probative as to the possible state of mind and judgement of Martin.

A no-brainer decision, I think, as both Zimmerman's mental state and Martin's are in question. (The prosecution keeps pushing the theory that because Zimmerman cursed ("f***ing punks") that proves the "ill will and depraved heart" requirement of Murder 2.) But not especially probative.

But oh the screaming by people who know nothing except They Want Their Racial Justice.

An expert (I think) over at the Treehouse says that a marijuana hangover would make him "angry". Also, Trayvon was looking unsteady in the 711 footage.

Compared to controls and to the pre-withdrawal data, chronic marijuana
users displayed more aggressive behavior on days 3 and 7 of marijuana
abstinence. These increases in aggressive responding returned to
pre-withdrawal levels after 28 days and were paralleled by small,
non-significant changes in depression and anxiety scores.

Maybe this was day three of non-use of marijuana? Or maybe M was on more than just marijuana? Or maybe etc etc.

I really wish somehow it would be brought out that Tray was buying 2 of the 3 ingredients needed to make "lean". Or that they would bring out that Tray met with 3 guys in the 711 parking lot.

Due to dextromethorphan's SSRI (selective serotonin re-uptake inhibitor)-like action, the sudden cessation of recreational dosing in tolerant individuals can result in mental and physical withdrawal symptoms similar to the withdrawal from SSRIs. These withdrawal effects can manifest as psychological effects, including depression, irritability, cravings, and as physical effects, including lethargy, body aches, and a sensation of unpleasant tingling, not unlike a mild "electric shock". I don't usually
listen to Hannity's radio show, but Guiliani was guest hosting today. He
had good insights into the case, felt the prosecution has completely
failed to present a case. Said they should never have entered the
Hannity interview with Zimmerman as evidence, you never give the accused
a way out of appearing on the stand if you can help it. Also thinks
that the defense needs to show pics of Trayvon at the age he was when he
died, no more of these angelic kiddie pics, and needs to stress how
tall the kid was. Also that zimmerman should have been kept to his
weight during the night of the shooting and not been allowed to stress
eat. He looks bigger now, and harder to knock down in a fight.

Oh, an
apparently Guiliani once served as foreman on a jury when he was mayor.
It was a ridic suit, they threw the case out. A legal underling handled
the jury selection, he is pretty sure that when the bigwigs in the law
firm realized how stupid he'd been to let guiliani on the jury the poor
underling got canned. Was an amusing story.

This. The defense can easily put the notion out there that Martin was slightly paranoid that night, and attacked Zimmerman without reason. Personally, I think that Martin wasn't high. Instead I think he was walking back slowly because he was looking for an easy score; an unlocked vehicle or a house to break into. When he realized that Zimmerman was following him he decided to take matters into his own hands and beat up the cracker in order to scare him out of talking to the cops.

1.) I do think Martin being ticked at suspended the day before is a possibility, and he had all he was going to take of "the man", in the form of Zimmerman, keeping him down. Especially as Z-man was a runt he could take.

2.) The trial judge knows the jurors will have full access to Zimmerman's and Martin's pasts post-verdict. And Jeantel's also. Given the state's case so far, this prevents a juror saying "if we had known this, we would have done x".

Actually, it very much depends on a lot of factors, including how intelligent you are to begin with and whether you're doing sativa or indica. After awhile, you can function quite easily while stoned -- and it wears off quickly -- if you're one of those genius types. A friend of mine, a lawyer, is one such. Posted by: Jay in PA at July 08, 2013 07:51 PM (WSgyE)

155 The tox report is in because the state admitted Zimmerman's talk with the non-emergency number operator. The state claims that Zimmerman followed Martin because he was black. But Zimmerman explicitly states:

"This guy looks like he’s up to no good or he’s on drugs or something. It’s raining and he’s just walking around looking about."

The State prosecutors introduced that statement. But that wasn't enough to allow the tox report. It was Dr. Bao's notes showing that the amount of drug metabolites in Martin's blood stream may have actually been impairing. These two things together that convinced the judge to allow the toxicology report to be introduced.

Posted by: Xmas at July 08, 2013 08:01 PM (3z3kT)

Just standing and walking around is difficult on high doses of DXM. That shit knocks you on your ass. At lower doses its possible to be out and about but your coordination is shit and your senses are dulled so you're only vaguely aware of what's going on around you. There's just no way.

158 The prosecution's own witness may have opened the door on this as he testified that he had consulted a specialist and changed his mind on whether the amount of MJ in Trayvon may have affected his behavior. He had something like 7ng of metabolized MJ in his system and some more that had not been metabolized. Apparently 5ng is enough to change your behavior and 10ng is enough to make it unsafe to drive. I haven't seen an explanation of if the unmetabolized amount was significant.

Dr. B: I do not know if stomach contents were tested in this case, as I do not know the protocols of tester peoples, as to be precise and/or manage lab people are not in my expertise. I did read a book, once, about testing stomach contents after death to determine toxicology, content, and time of death. You Morons got it Wrong! I have been paying attention to the MFM and the reverend Al so I know what happened.
9-year old Trayvon Martin was on his way home from choir practice and delivering hot meals to the elderly.

He stopped to hold umbrellas for a Girl Scout Troop which was raising
money for quadriplegic AIDS victims in Africa. After he helped the
Girl Scouts, he then delivered 10 Golden Retriever puppies which were
breach birth.

That's when George Zimmerman pulled up in his Hummer, on his way home
from a White Hispanic KKK meeting. High on meth and shouting racist
slogans, GZ saw TM and opened up with his twin roof-mounted 50 caliber
machine guns.

TM saved all the Girl Scouts and then went back to save the Golden Retriever puppies.

GZ ran out of ammunition so he unholstered two Desert Eagle .44 magnum pistols and started firing at the puppies and TM.

That's when TM was hit in the back by 32 rounds of hollow-point, teflon-coated explosive ammunition.

With his last breaths, TM prayed for GZ and forgave him.

Then GZ called his cop buddies who were at the KKK rally. They
cleaned up the site and made the Girl Scouts and Golden Retrievers
"disappear" in the Everglades so there would be no witnesses. They
washed the blood from GZ's jowls after he gnawed on TM's still beating
heart.

It must be true! Justice for Trayvon (and his mother's merchandising rights)!

Oh yes, GZ is the current world champion for ALL schools of martial
art and had just escaped from a mental institution for the criminally
insane. A few years earlier, he was indicted for murder eight times but
got off only because his father was a Supreme Court Justice.

This just keeps getting weirder and weirder. Apparently, one of the locomotives caught fire some distance out of the town, and the local fire department responded, and extinguished the fire. The train was then immobile, and had no crew on board. At some later time, the brakes (were) released, and the dead train rolled downhill into the town and derailed.

Sounds more and more like sabotage to me.

169 Recall that Zimmerman stated that the person he was observing was acting oddly, he thought they might be on drugs.
So, I think the defense will introduce this to provide evidence that Zimmerman's observations had a basis. That is, Martin had enough THC to influence his behavior- walk slower, perhaps stop and focus on something unusually long, whatever THC does. I don't think their intention is to show it made Martin mare aggressive.
