Ann Coulter Has Some Minor Reservations About Comprehensive Amnesty

Just a few small details.

IF THE GOP IS THIS STUPID, IT DESERVES TO DIE

...

Who convinced Republicans that Hispanic wages aren't low enough and what they really need is an influx of low-wage workers competing for their jobs?

Maybe the greedy businessmen now running the Republican Party should talk with their Hispanic maids sometime. Ask Juanita if she'd like to have seven new immigrants competing with her for the opportunity to clean other people's houses, so that her wages can be dropped from $20 an hour to $10 an hour.

A wise Latina, A.J. Delgado, recently explained on Mediaite.com why amnesty won't win Republicans the Hispanic vote -- even if they get credit for it. Her very first argument was: "Latinos will resent the added competition for jobs."

But rich businessmen don't care. Big Republican donors -- and their campaign consultants -- just want to make money. They don't care about Hispanics, and they certainly don't care what happens to the country. If the country is hurt, I don't care, as long as I am doing better! This is the very definition of treason.

Hispanic voters are a small portion of the electorate. They don't want amnesty, and they're hopeless Democrats. So Republicans have decided the path to victory is to flood the country with lots more of them!

...

Listening to Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus burble a few weeks ago on "Fox News Sunday" about how amnesty is going to push the Republicans to new electoral heights, one is reminded of Democratic pollster Pat Caddell's reason for refusing to become a Republican: No matter how enraged he gets at Democratic corruption, he says he can't bear to join such a stupid party as the GOP.

She was flummoxed by Hannity's "liberal-like" commitment to Stupid Things.

8 Big donors come from big business. Big business doesn't hire illegals. Small business, maybe. That can't be the reason. I can't think of a good reason for a party to sign onto not only its own death, but the death of a constitutional republic at the same time.

9 So glad you posted this, Ace! I watched this live last night and loved every minute of Ann's epic takedown of Hannity. She pwned him. She not only had great zingers like "Rubio is the Jack Kevorkian of the Republican Party", but she cited FACTS about how Hispanics are not "natural Republicans" and how polls show just how LEFTIST they are. I also learned from her that foreign-born Hispanics are anti-Semitic.

Yeah, let's have more of them, they sound like GREAT Americans! /sarc

I'd love to hear the reason. Five years ago, it was because the amnestied would be paying taxes to keep social security from going bankrupt. Except - EITC. Last year, it was for security reasons. Now that we see the NSA spying on every American except those in mosques, where 99% of terrorism comes from, we know that is a lie too.

a. they will make an issue anyway just like gay marriage, abortion, etc

b. they would never ever ever give republicans advice on how to get MORE votes

c. its a bluff and a canard because they know puplic opinion is not on their side on this so if they pass it now maybe something else will be important next fall or the people will forget and if it goes bad they can blame republicans for it-its a win win for them

To do less than that *assures* that the march of Left will increase at an even higher rate. 140 I know that no one pays one bit of attention to things said by occasional commenters, but I predicted last fall that if Romney lost, the Republican Party would split wide open.

The reasons are obvious:
1) no philosophical or intellectual leadership
2) no real over-arching philosophy on what distinguishes them from Democrats, except "we can run big government 20% cheaper".
3) and every time someone like Paul or Cruz tries to articulate a better, clearer path, the Party assholes like McCain and Graham (media "go -to" guys for the Networks) pipe up to tear them down. The Wacko Birds.

What does this mean?

A bigger majority for Democrats to do ANYTHING they want for some years ahead. There is nothing left to unify the Big Government Republicans and the conservative/libertarian wing that wants government under control.

A new party could be formed and I think not a few elected Republicans might leave and join it if there was a clear and compelling intellectual idea behind it. But for those of us opposed to the crony-lying-corrupt rule that is the rottenness of the modern Democrat party,

Welcome to the wilderness. We will be out here a while. Get a Leinenkugels and relax.

Between now and the special conference would be a good time to let your Republican representative, if you have one, know that even bringing an immigration bill to the floor will cost them your support. But less than 5% of people agree with me. So it's not going to happen.

176 If the GOP wants to when the next ellection, here's how to do it: Pick up union and working class whites by sending the immigrants home, shutting down legal immigration, and ending free trade. Wages will go up, people will be able to form families with low skill labor and the GOP will clean the the Dems clocks. It's really that simple. The fact that no one in the GOP is calling for it really says a lot about their stupidity or their allegiances to liberalism.

another hugely complex mega-bill that had to be passed immediately,

And I think it's been pretty well established that any bill with a

Naming a bill the "Patriot Act" implies that anyone who opposes it is
unpatriotic. Fuck that noise.

180 Libertarians have been saying for decades that the D's and R's are just two faces of the same party. It's becoming increasingly apparent that they were right.

This is not to say that the Libertarian Party doesn't have serious problems of their own, especially a penchant for nominating cranks and eccentrics.

Maybe people who have their heads screwed on straight just don't want to have anything to do with politics.

Posted by: rickl at June 13, 2013 06:51 PM (sdi6R)

181 52 I fully understand the antipathy felt towards the Republicans. On the other, my rule is to vote for the most conservative person running, and hope like hell I can influence them. To do less than that *assures* that the march of Left will increase at an even higher rate. Those who say that there is no difference in the way that Romney would run the country, and the way that Obama has are simply full of it. Do you not think that Romney would have acted to defend DOMA. Do you really believe Romney would have reacted no differently to Benghazi, or the IRS scandals? Etc., etc., etc.

This.

182 My job is to cancel out the vote of an ass sucking progressive scumbag, that means voting against "their" candidate. If they want, it, I'm against it, and if means voting for a 3 day old festered fucking diaper then thats what I'm going to do.

183 "Here's an example.

I think the Feds should sell off much if not most of the federal
lands they hold. Pretty standard libertarian position there. There's no
need for the Feds to own most of the West. Sell it to private owners,
let them manage it.

But less than 5% of people agree with me. So it's not going to happen."

So give it away in 40 acre pieces as slavery reparations. The reason Republicans won't do this is because they are afraid of being called racist. The important thing is that at the end of the day millions of acres would be transferred from the government into private ownership. The fact that it pits the blacks against the greens is just an added benefit.

Posted by: Buzzion at June 13, 2013 07:18 PM (QwEhe)

189 I think what is going on is that the Republican Party, like the Democrat Party, is a statist party. They have no intention of reducing the size and scope of government, because that would reduce their own power. They are in the process of purging small-government conservatives and libertarians from their ranks.

They are becoming like the "conservative" or "right" parties of Europe. Take England, for example. Do the Tories ever run on a platform of privatisation of the National Health Service? No, they merely argue that they can administer it better than Labour.

The same is repeated throughout Europe. The major parties trade places in the majority and minority periodically, but their members are always close to the levers of power. Anybody who is dissatisfied with the status quo is relegated to tiny fringe parties and has essentially no representation.

That is our future, as I see it.

Posted by: rickl at June 13, 2013 07:21 PM (sdi6R)

190 I saw this yesterday and thought it was fantastic.

Nothing good will come of this and it seems your politicians are selling out the rest of the country for 11 million (likely far more) people who even if they are extremely hard workers and never accept a single dime of taxpayer money will contribute little to the economy. They won't pay income tax because they won't make enough money and their employers are already paying taxes on their own incomes or corporate profits.

I'm still waiting for someone to explain to me how this is good for any American, who these politicians are supposed to be representing.
