Holder Personally Vetted Rosen Search Warrant; Lied About It Under Oath

It gets worse.

They fought to keep Rosen from finding out about the warrant because they wanted to keep searching his emails for a long period of time. Years, as it turned out.

And it gets worse yet.

[The prosecutor, Machen] argued that disclosure of the search warrant would preclude the government from monitoring the account, should such a step become necessary in the investigation. Machen added that “some investigations are continued for many years because, while the evidence is not yet sufficient to bring charges, it is sufficient to have identified criminal subjects and/or criminal activity serious enough to justify continuation of the investigation.”

Machen insisted the investigation would be compromised if Rosen was informed of the warrant, and also asked the court to order Google not to notify Rosen that the company had handed over Rosen’s e-mails to the government. Rosen, according to recent reports, did not learn that the government seized his e-mail records until it was reported in the Washington Post last week.

...

According to recently unsealed documents in the case, the Obama Justice Department sought an extensive amount of information from Rosen’s e-mail account. In addition to Rosen’s correspondence with Kim, the government wanted to know about Rosen’s contacts with other government officials, including “records or information relating to the Author’s communication with any other source or potential source of the information disclosed in the Article.”

Do you see what's going on there? Not only do they want to see which of Obama's people are disloyal in the actual case, they also want to keep secretly reading a private citizen's email for years in order to find other sources of leaks in other matters.

In other words: It's nakedly a Traitor Fishing Expedition.

Question: What happens if we find out that one of Rosen's sources -- say his other government sources, who are not in possession of any confidential information, but who can offer some negative information about Obama personnel -- failed to be promoted due to his name surfacing in this years-long Loyalty Crusade?

At 5:00, Holder says -- under oath-- he stayed out of any decisions to spy on the press. And not just in the AP matter.

In regard to potential prosecution of the press for the disclosure of material. This is not something I’ve ever been involved in, heard of, or would think would be wise policy.

51 Amazing how much 2013 can feel like 1973.

But there's something lacking here. A certain important quote. A question quote. One that is just as applicable in 2013 as it was in 1973.

I'd like to start to hear that question quote revoiced. A lot. In fact, I would like to hear every single Republican on television or radio revoice the question quote in every single media appearance. Consistently and repeatedly.

What is that question quote? It is this:

"WHAT DID THE PRESIDENT KNOW, AND WHEN DID HE KNOW IT?"

Over and over again, please. The Palace Guard Media might be able to get away with not playing one iteration, but it'll get rapidly embarrassing if they have to cut away time after time.

Bonus points if you know who originally authored that question. It was Howard Baker who asked the question, but it wasn't Baker's idea.

Yeah.
When your JOB is to get other people to commit felonies, as a regular ongoing thing, then you're in what we call "organized crime".
Organized crime probes last a while, so the FBI can take out the whole organization.
And no, I don't know that's his job. I'm just taking Brit Hume's word for it.
Question: What happens if we find out that one of Rosen's sources -- say his other government sources, who are not in possession of any confidential information, but who can offer some negative information about Obama personnel -- failed to be promoted due to his name surfacing in this years-long Loyalty Crusade?
And that's why corruption is a nonpartisan issue. It poisons the well, even if your guy is doing something that ought to be done. There's a stain of suspicion that he's abusing the system.

I know that I am one of the people who you think sees conspiracies everywhere and that by the wording of your above statement it seems that you look down on those who "like conspiracy theories" dismissing them as having inferior thought processes.

However I don't hold to the idea that the obvious thing cannot be the
truth; the clever man, the wily man, always looks behind the obvious to
find the Real Explanation.

Evidently there are many things which are obvious to me that are not obvious to most people. For example how to design and simulate a computer in my head was something that was obvious to me the first time I looked at the subject; my first computer design set the world speed record. To simulate a computer design in ones head a person has to be able to see how an enormous number of things are related and function together.

This means when I look at an operation like Fast and Furious I see the functioning logistical and bureaucratic structure that has to be in place for the operation to occur. That structure can't be constructed by the low level field operatives tasked with implementing it - any more than a few troops could have got together and pulled off the Normandy invasion in World War II. It was obvious to me that Fast and Furious was an authorized government operation that had to come from the highest levels of the government.

Sometimes I forget that other people don't see the same obvious things I do. I'll try to explain my observations better in the future.

261 So as I turned to see Holder hanging over my shoulder, for "fun" I decided to approach the man who deep-sixed the Clinton Chinagate scandal while deputy attorney general at the Clinton Justice Department, sold pardons to such crooks as Marc Rich on behalf of Bill and Hillary, spearheaded the indictment of persons such as Commerce Department Secretary Ron Brown's girlfriend Nolanda Hill to try to shut them up (Hill had the goods on Hillary Clinton's selling seats on Department trade missions for $100,000 in illegal campaign contributions), covered up and refused to prosecute voter intimidation by the New Black Panthers in Philadelphia during the 2008 presidential elections, looked the other way when other voter crimes by an Obama front group named ACORN surfaced, lied to Congress about Obama Justice Department involvement in a gunrunning scheme to Mexican drug lords that became known as "Fast and Furious" and a host of other capers to suppress evidence and thwart prosecutions during both the Clinton and Obama administrations. The bottom line is that while presenting a nice image, Holder is one of the sleaziest operators in Washington, D.C. – a man of mixed black-white heritage who "cleverly" uses and plays the "race card," much like his master, President Obama, to defect criticism for his illegal deeds when it suits him.

Miss Maple,
I suppose but I can also see the stand aside and let it crumble argument. The holding action only really matters if you can see or expect real change coming shortly after the holding action, or perhaps it buys you enough time to make final arrangements for what you know is coming after. I don't for see any light at the end of this tunnel, not without the system as we know first collapsing completely (and after that it's still a gamble) of it own weight, till then it's just ever decreasing lumens. It's rather depressing to think about actually, for me personally though I'm done taking one for the team and voting for what usually and certainly in recent times has been the lessor of two evils (in both federal and state\local elections), if that speeds up the destruction so be it. Perhaps multiple needed miracles will happen soon that will change the nations current course but I'm not planning on that any more then I am on winning the next major PowerBall or MegaMillions.

I mean what difference, at this point, does it make?

275 The structure of the IRS was designed to prevent the kind of abuse that the IRS perpetrated on conservative groups. In order for that abuse to have occurred the entire oversight chain had to be corrupted. No GS-13 supervisor could have pulled this off without the knowledge and consent of his superiors. The treasury oversight had to be corrupted also.

All of these scandals lead ultimately to the White House.
