NY State Middle School Forces Girls to Ask Each Other for a Kiss as Part of Anti-Gay-Bullying "Workshop"

It's unconscionable.

It's truly horrifying.

Parents say their daughters were told to ask one another for a kiss and they say two girls were told to stand in front of the class and pretend they were lesbians on a date.

“She told me, ‘Mom we all get teased and picked on enough. Now I’m going to be called a lesbian because I had to ask another girl if I could kiss her,’” parent, Mandy Coon, told reporters.

Coon says parents were given no warning about the presentation and there was no opportunity to opt-out. Both the school principal and the district superintendent are defending the workshops and advising they will schedule more.

“The school is overstepping its bounds in not notifying parents first and giving us the choice,” another parent said. “I thought it was very inappropriate. That kind of instruction is best left up to the parents.”

“I was absolutely furious — really furious,” a parent who asked to remain anonymous told reporter Todd Starnes, “These are just kids. I’m dumbfounded that they found this class was appropriate.”

There is a very real suspicion, held for good reason, that anything that is not illegal in a socialist state will be mandatory. That is, there are only two categories of actions: the illegal and criminal, and the mandatory and coerced. Only What the State Forbids and What the State Compels.

If the Gay Rights people are insisting that children must kiss same-sex children in order to make their lives more convenient, then I am going fully Anti-Gay-Rights.

You cannot demand that someone afford you the right of liberty while in the same movement stealing that very thing from everyone else.

How about this for an insane idea: Just as people have the right to be gay, other people retain their right to not be gay.

Or is that to "extreme" a position?

Keep.

Your Fucking.

Hands.

Off.

Other People's Children.

For God's sake. For God's sake.

Corrected: They did not actually make the girls kiss-- just ask each other if they could kiss each other.

Which is the difference between a 20 year sentence and a 5 year sentence. I'm going to need those 5 years just the same.

I do not give a rat's ass what someone's sexual orientation is, at any age. It's their sexuality, their business.

But I certainly give a damn if someone is creating a situation where sexual coercion is being used towards children.

The GOP is too scared to get involved in culture wars stuff because racist or something.
stuff like this should be easy gimmees for the GOP because even diversity hates this stuff.
but no, we buy into MSNBC explanation of why the GOP loses, because whatever common sense position the GOP holds that was not part of an election campaign but is decided on by the left as a point in the culture wars *is* determined as the reason why we lost.

Sort of like the lefty 2012 recaps which blame romney's loss on his insane rightwing hatred and viewpoints when we all know that obama won because of his super awesome "100,000 teachers and some taxes for the rich" platform that swept the nation and that's been constantly working on since being reinaugurated.

but the teachers /school are asking others to touch inappropriately(unwanted advance) for the greater good?

so why do we have some of the highest failure rates in the world ?

I would think a more effective anti-bullying lesson would be to barge into this class with a Louisville Slugger and use the bat/teacher kinetic interface to show these children how wrong it is to force yourself on someone.

As a bonus, I don't think an assault conviction carries any more prison time than molestation does and you don't get put on some pesky list when you get paroled. More cell block cred while you're inside too. Win win win.

239 I don't think I've ever seen such a look of misery
and dejection on the face of my daughter as I just
did a moment ago.

I sat down with her on the sofa and (as calmly as I
could) tried to explain to her why the Republicans
want to stop 12 year old girls from kissing other 12 year old girls in the front of the classroom as part of a classroom assignment. I tried to keep my voice steady, but it became increasingly difficult - the rage and feelings of helplessness were just too much.

She could tell something was wrong. I found myself at such a loss for words - nothing made any sense;
nothing makes sense anymore. I finally had to admit, " I just don't know - I don't know what's going on in this country anymore..."

When I finished her lower lip started to tremble and
her eyes began to fill with tears, "Mommy" she said,
"why are the Republicans doing this to the country?" Well, that was it for me: I finally fell apart. I just fell into her arms and we both began sobbing for several minutes. She had to comfort me and get me back on my feet. Sometimes I just think it’s too much, but seeing the strength in my daughters voice helped me to get through.

292 I'm lost. Presumably this is about bullying in school. So where does acting like "lesbians on a date and asking for a kiss" come in? The scenario makes no sense.
They are on a date. They are both lesbians. A kiss is possible. BUT HOW DOES THAT COME BACK AROUND TO SCHOOL? They aren't on a date with the school populace.

Now if they want to role play a girl who expresses a fondness for a fellow student at school and how that should be handled, OK that makes sense. However, I sincerely doubt 'asking for a kiss' would be part of that equation.

Got a son in public high school. It pisses me off he's so hung up about cultural issues. Nature's got no small hand in it since the problem of pubescence is establishing yourself anew in the adult world. So there's a lot of stress just hormonally involved with figuring out that society, finding a place among your peers, etc. It's hard enough already, and here come the goddamn modern leftists exploiting that. I guarantee you every student at that workshop is dealing with these issues tonight over and above actual academics. What's going to be driving their thoughts next week? Graphing parabolas, or tween lesbian petting? Ah, rest assured, a credentialed bunch of professionals may even be brought in. To mitigate a crisis their class, of course, planted like a booby trap.

Interesting. So instead of trying (and failing) to teach kids not to bully each other, they merely wanted to teach them that kissing without verbal permission is wrong and not to consent to gay kissing if you really mean no. I'm glad they cleared that up.

And they were not trying to make the girls pretend to be gay when they told them to ask girls to kiss them so they could practice saying no.

I know I haven't got their actual intent correctly expressed here because I can't really see what it is but the kids were asked to role play in sexually charged ways that they were uncomfortable with and will be singled out for bullying over, and the school should really have been able to see that--at the very least in hindsight--the media really can't be blamed for making this much worse than it is. I can't believe I just defended the media.

398 On this infuriating subject: I'm so sick of the idiocy sophistry of the queer agenda regarding marriage and "equal rights" (and this assumes a starting point of "consenting adults, so we'll avoid the animal/child/inanimate object examples occasionally thrown up by some on the right and shouted down by the sodomite left).

Everyone in this country ALREADY has exactly equal rights to get married, namely: if you are yourself UNMARRIED, you may marry another UNMARRIED person of the OPPOSITE GENDER who is not a BLOOD RELATION. Gays - ignoring any traditional, religious, or biologically functional reasons for marriage as has been normally understood - agitate to do away with one of these four criteria (which does maintain equal opportunity among everyone - two straight dudes would be able to marry, say, for insurance or tax purposes). What reason do gay-marriage advocates give for keeping the other three restrictions? Why don't they advocate just as hard for bigamous, polygamous, incestuous marriage? Where are the defenders of traditional marriage - the basis for a husband-wife-children family unit, which remains the foundation of a functional society - who are pointing out this disingenuousness?

ace, or any of you other Morons, is this an argument being made by anybody and I'm just not seeing it?

442 To be perfectly truthful here: the presentation was put on by a college (they used college students to give it in fact), with the cooperation of the school principle and the school guidance counselor.

How any of the classroom teachers felt about it was immaterial. In such situations the actual teachers have very little say...although I suppose they could have pitched a fit, which would have likely gotten them censured (or fired, definitely blacklisted) and the presentation would have still gone forward as planned.

If you want to go looking for heads on this, I would suggest the school administration as well as the college's (and I think if you dig around a bit in this story, whatever GLAAD type group is at the college can be found at the bottom of this as well).
Somebody (namely the principle, the counselor, and some college profs and grad students) probably got some promotion brownie points for this...and that's exactly why they did it (plus the indoctrination -- they'll be falling all over themselves in the coming years to show how down and hip with homosex; it's the newest cause du jour -- big than race, gender, and religious issues).

445 You know, a major turning point (among many) in this whole gay agenda came from Seinfeld's "not that there's anything wrong with that" episode.

It's like it completely emasculated a whole generation of men in this country.

It was a stroke of genius for their side when you think about it. If a man speaks out about it he's labeled a homophobe or a closet homosexual and if he acquiesces he's helped pave the way to where we are now.

Even now you'll see the denial about the slippery slope.

God, turn on your television and you literally can't get away from the gay agenda. They've already normalized it that can only mean one thing...much further down the slippery slope as evidenced by this thread...coming for your kids.

451 Starting to get it, Ace?

If the gay rights movement was about equal protection under the law, I would sympathize.

If a homosexual couple wants to have a ceremony and call themselves married, I really don't care. I don't consider it a real marriage, and they should be free to disagree with me and live their life as they see fit.

But it's not about equal protection, nor is it about living life as the individual sees fit. Never has been.

You have to remember these are leftists, and therefore tyrants at heart. Vindictive tyrants. The endgame is not equal rights. It is the enforcement of the acceptance of the lifestyle onto people whose faith will not allow them to. It is the effective establishment of the thought police. It is to have Chrsitianity labeled "hate speech" and legal action enforced against churches that refuse to marry homosexual couples.

Ultimately it is to discredit and drive Christianity underground or force it into a leftist viewpoint under the threat of fines, imprisonment, or both. That's why I can't support it, because I know their motives aren't innocent.
