| CNN Economist Ali Veshi: I Sure Hope The Republicans' Sequester Doesn't Spoil This Blistering-Hot Economic Boom We're EnjoyingDon't tell me if I spelled his name wrong. I don't care. I bother to learn the spelling of names that matter, not this fat little hump. Looks like a lima bean that eats too many carbs. Of course, Obama had told him to push exactly this line just hours before. Obama spoke at 11:30am, Dr. Testicle spoke at around 2 pm. They've gotten it down to a bloody science.Comments1

President's budget coming in late March- http://bit.ly/13uhN67
"By law, the budget was due Feb. 4, and releasing it March 25 would make it seven weeks late. Normally, the president’s request is the beginning of the annual budget process and Congress relies on its detailed spending information to come up with its own budget resolution. This time the order will be reversed. House Budget Chairman Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) plans to put out his own budget — one that balances in 10 years — before the new Obama plan arrives. That budget is also slated to get a House vote before the House embarks on a two-week Easter recess March 22." Posted by: 80sBaby at March 01, 2013 07:43 PM (YjDyJ) 66

I like how the MFM was saying that consumer spending was up, and that that was a good sign. They went on to report that the spending is up because people are needing to spend more on energy. The Fookin' stupid should hurt. Like we are going to freeze in our houses this winter. Hey MFM! We have no choice BUT to spend more money. We are being squeezed. I think that we are rapidly reaching a tipping point, where even the LIv'ers are going to start asking WTF type questions.

She was telling all her patients that she is so angry with republicans for not compromising and just raising taxes on the rich since they should pay a little more (the previous raising of such taxes apparently didn't happen). She also bitched about the sequester creating furlough days for poor federal workers and hurting wages, while not even 20 minutes earlier, she was telling the whole staff that she will be cutting one day from the schedule EVERY WEEK due to the sequester and the slow schedule (but mostly the sequester). NWC,
You've got it. There are those that can be reasoned with. And there are those that can't be. I often make the most progress with those who are so-far-gone by kicking it into high gear, using huge words and formal phrases, then being condescending when they don't get it, "ahahaha, well I wouldn't expect one if the little people liberals like you to get it. Maybe you should leave the thinking to the adults until you can define some of tge basic rules of logic. Go read a book. I'll give you recommendations that you might need if you want them." Not for everyone, but with the right person it can start the conversion. In future conversations I will literally make them provide me with definitions of shit, like "the law of non-contradiction" and "the tu quoque fallacy." But truly, be careful with that approach. The Obama administration today moved one step closer to approval of the Keystone SL pipeline concluding in a draft environmental impact statement that the project would not accelerate global greenhouse gas emissions or significantly harm the natural habitats along its route. The report, done by the State Department, suggests that the proposed 875-mile pipeline, which would carry 830,000 barrels of crude oil per day from the tar sands of Alberta, Canada, to Steele City, Nebraska, has cleared a significant hurdle on its way to President Obama's desk for final consideration. "The approval or denial of any one crude oil transport project, including this proposed project, really remains unlikely to significantly impact the rate of development of the oil sands or the continued demand for heavy crude oil in the U.S.," said Kerri-Ann Jones, the Assistant Secretary of State for Oceans and International Environmental and Scientific Affairs. The State Department, which conducted the study because the pipeline would cross an international boundary, also suggested in a voluminous report that impacts on air, water and landscape would be minimal. That's until the evil corporations start herding toxic Canadian pigs down the pipe to the Omaha Spam factories. Posted by: PETA at March 01, 2013 08:31 PM (bGlsD) 221

If you haven't, read Thomas Sowell's "A conflict of visions". (or at least look up the short video by Bill Whittle of the same name.) Posted by: Tami at March 01, 2013 08:49 PM (X6akg) No, no, no, you see either a continuing resolution is just like a budget so it's really the same thing or of course there's a budget since there's a law that says there has to be a budget so there's a budget. I really don't understand this strategy by the White House/MFM.
The fact is that for 51% of the people last year, the economy wasn't bad at all and still isn't. Unemployment was extended pretty much forever, work requirements are all but gone from welfare, Obamacare gave people free checkups and mammograms, they kept their cheap student loans. So those folks voted for the black guy and against the rich guy. If you have a job, especially if you are a 20- or 30-something young couple starting out, things are GREAT, your stock portfolio is booming, you just bought a house that you could afford thanks to a 40% drop in prices and you got a 3% mortgage for it, gas prices aren't a problem because you don't live in an exurb with a 50-mile commute. So you voted for the cool guy and against the Gigantic Horror Conservative Rich Asshole. The problem Obama has, is none of those people will know if the economy gets worse because of the budget leveling off. The only people who will are the government employees and contractors who will lose their jobs, and they all voted for him. Where does he think he can actually gain votes in Republican Congressional districts? If some Republican voters actually do lose their jobs, they sure as hell aren't going to blame John Boehner or their Republican congressman. Posted by: rockmom at March 01, 2013 08:53 PM (Ea7Up) 294

Maddow is some petulant posturing lesbian idiot. THESE PEOPLE ARE IDIOTS AND A MAJOR NETWORK PUTS THEM ON EVERY NIGHT! That alone should tell just how incompetent and small our adversaries really are. Really. This is going to be a little long, but:
I give you Maxine Waters and Keith Ellison, two of our nation's "duly-elected leaders", who wish to replace Hank Johnson as the world's dumbest democratically elected national legislator. (Hank Johnson if you'll recall, was the man who asked a Navy Admiral if the Navy had taken precautions to prevent the Island of Guam from tipping over and falling into the sea). It may not appear so at first blush, but these two are even dumber than that. Democrats opposed seeing a real-time national debt clock during a House Financial Services Committee hearing on this week. http://www.usdebtclock.org/ Committee chairman Jeb Hensarling ordered the two monitors in the room to show the nation’s running debt levels. California Rep. Maxine Waters and Minnesota Rep. Keith Ellison complained. “Clearly, it is a political prop designed to message ideologically,” said Mr. Ellison, according to the report. And Ms. Waters, meanwhile, asked for the clock to be turned off while Democrats spoke. Mr. Hensarling complied with that request. “At the request of the ranking member, the national debt clock will not be put on the screens during Democratic time,” he said, according to the report. Like ignoring it will make it go away!! So the President and Vice-President can parade children across the stage and it is OK but to show the national debt clock is propaganda? Cry me a fucking river. It’s our grandkids that will have to deal with the debt. But heaven forbid these two clowns have to see it. And a special note to Maxine Waters: One of your very few actual Constitutional Duties Madam Congress Woman is to establish a budget for our nation to operate on. If there is no budget in existence, or being considered, that can only be so due to your and your cronies personal incompetence. Thank you for making my point for me, you idiot!!! http://tinyurl.com/cb5f22c Posted by: Capt. Backfire at March 01, 2013 09:05 PM (mkb9H) 334

#317 It matters because Obama's end game here is to win the midterms and get a rubber-stamp Congress his last two years. We stopped him in 2010 and we can do it again in 2014. He is throwing a Hail Mary here, thinking he can make the Republican brand so unpopular that there will be a wave election next year. It's really, really unlikely that this will happen. He is full of himself and his hubris will be his downfall. Now I don't mean downfall in terms of he will resign or be impeached or not ever ever win anything, but he will not get much of his Progressive Utopian agenda done unless he can get a Democratic Congress again.

I mean, in our country? It is so obvious he is a Tyrant Traitor. When I think about my grandma, I'm glad she didn't have to live through this. Obama appears worried about that. He stressed Friday that Americans won't feel the effects right away. "The pain, though, will be real," he said. ------------- Finally, Obama's approval rating on the economy is weak and slipping, polls show, and the public supports some type of spending cut to deal with the deficit, even if they don't agree with the GOP approach. For his part, Boehner spoke briefly outside the White House to urge Congress and the president to pass a budget resolution. On a day of spin and blame-shifting, the president did hit the mark once. More of the same Fed tightening crap from the same commenter.
The Fed can't tighten. They are even admitting as much in whispered tones. The Fed's balance sheet hit $3T (20% of GDP) last week or so. They have nothing but long term Ts and MBSes making up the brunt of what they're creating M0 money against. Uncle has $16.5T in debt. Figure out just what the interest on that debt will be if rates rise even to their historical average. Hint, it ain't pretty. Japan right now is paying over half all tax revenue in interest, at 1% on their 10yr bonds. That's the box The Bernank has put us, same as the BoJ. Also, if Helicopter Ben starts trying to tighten, the market value of the asset side of his balance sheet starts declining. He will take a capital loss on paper and have to transfer it to Treasury to keep the system in balance on paper. That means more debt for the US Treasury essentially. So, if they tighten, the fuck the federal govt. and fuck themselves. Theend game is either deflationary ice or inflationary fire, depending on just what they do. The checks stop or they're paid in worthless dollars. The best you can hope for is a Japan-like stagnation. That's the only thing staying off the end game. And they are ALL, to-a-man, "Conservatives". Just leave us alone, and let us do our thing! We won't deliberately hurt anyone, and we will hire, and pay commiserate to ability. That's the way it is supposed to work. WORK and PAY!!! Duh! As Sven so beautifully and succinctly stated it: "If men were actually 'free' to gain. To try. Maybe fail. And if need-be die in the pursuit of honest gain, we would be a better society. At at the end of the day freedom is not about freedom from failure, or loss, it is about mutual interlocking self-interest." THAT IS CAPITALISM! The market is high because, frankly, there is no other place to stick whatever excess cash you may have. No one is investing in new businesses because, quite frankly, the environment to start one sucks. Savings and other conservative investments are offering practically zero return. Yes, Volcker tightened to kill inflation that was going to kill us. Short term T-bill rates hit 15%, FF rate hit 17% or so. Now, how much debt did the Federal govt have at that time? Hint, nothing compared to now. Oh, and how did Volcker tighten? Well inflation and velocity was such that all he had to do was cut the rate of the growth of the monetary base, not actually pull money out. The monetary base now stands at $2.8T. If the Bernank wants to tighten, he's going to have pull in a tremendous amount of base money, by selling the *long term* bonds he has. He has "twisted" away all his short term, and relatively interest insensitive to duration instruments. When he starts flooding the market with all the Uncle debt he's bought up to keep rates low, allowing Barky and the Clowns to borrow $1T/year for the last 4 years, he dramatically increases Uncle's borrowing costs. Interest payments skyrocket, going vertical. Uncle is then fucked, royally. And as he does, he starts off a positive feedback cycle killing his own mark to market value of his balance sheet. He can only sit on his ass and hope inflation doesn't get out of hand and the status quo continues. Or he hopes the BLS can figure out how to lie and hide any real inflation that showed up. Running some numbers here, my grocery bill has increased about 11% year over year. But no, there's no inflation, nicely at Ben's little target of 2% per year. My family is in development and during an earlier phase of my life I headed one branch of the business. And I agree with your description of people in the construction business; all of them conservatives. Most are self-made, which is a pathway that would be impossible today. Now you have to begin a building business with huge deep pockets, or no one will finance you. Moreover, Obama has made it nearly impossible to roll profits back to the war chest; and that move alone has decreased developments for the obvious reasons. We are the canary in the coal mine, but you would think he wanted to harm the nations building industry on purpose. uh huh Posted by: I'd rather be surfin at March 01, 2013 11:22 PM (g5wi5) 496

A note on the twichy twitter comments on her use of the word "feller" Ms.Judd is adapting her new acting role of "THE KENTUCKY CANDIDATE WHO HAS GENERATIONAL ROOTS" "Feller" is an affectation straight out of Jessie Stuart's novels of post-civil war Kentucky. We have people who massacre grammar, but "feller" has vanished from the lexicon. She is attempting to recreate Loretta Lynn as her role. The biggest hint that Judd does not know Kentucky is her conception that the state has a homogeneous culture. Inside her tiny brain, women talk and think like a cross between Loretta Lynn and Daisy Mae ( see the cartoon Lil'Abner). Quite the opposite. The state operates like four states within one, with very distinct cultures. Northern Kentucky is one giant subdivision of Cincinnati. Central Kentucky thinks it is still a British colony, and Eastern Kentucky doesn't trust foreigners- that means you, Judd.

Western Kentucky is more complicated. The Bowling Green area is a cross between Nashville and Eastern Kentucky, but Louisville is a cross between old South, Indiana and Detriot. You have to spend time there to understand their cultural confusion- and it is a doozy. The city is eating itself from within, and a possible candidate for riots within the next 5 years.
