Enemy of the State: Juicebox Mafia Brands Bob Woodward a Rightwing Turncoat

All because he reported the truth about the sequester -- a truth even Politico concedes to be true, that Obama hatched the scheme and the White House has been lying about it since -- and because he doesn't like being threatened.

Woodward's complaint is a bit more nuanced than claiming a "threat," though. He does see it as a "veiled threat." But the main thrust of his complaint is that while he, Bob Woodward, is immune to such threats, what about young reporters? When young reporters get yelled at by the White House for a half hour and told "you'll regret this," what do they do?

His suggestion is that more often than not they "tremble, tremble" and accede to the Chicago Thugs' wishes.

And for saying so, the guy who brought down Nixon is now being called senile, a rightwinger, a new David Mamet, etc.

Anyone who opposes this gangster administration must be destroyed.

The Gramsciite Left is too close to their goals now. They feel the creaking in America's beam, they can feel the ship about to burst in two. They want this so badly.

If all the other reporters, and their bosses thought Woodward was a crank, they wouldn't be putting him on the air.

So this is a message from the media to Obama.

Too extreme.

I'm just sayin' the other reporters are getting some heat from their official sources, which is why Woodward gets on TV. They all know it's happening. So what is interesting now is to see if Obama's peeps go after Woodward personally.

On the other thread I made the same point. Woodward had a scoop in his book that it was the Obama administration that first suggested the sequester. But now Obama doesn't want that known, and Woodward is bragging about his book. So, for Obama it's personal. Woodward is messin' up the narrative, and Obama doesn't like it. This is Nixonian; enemies, list, IRS audits, opposition research, sudden discovery of dirty secrets, secrets made public.

Go for the popcorn. It'll be a short movie; you'll be able to save some for later.

The MFM is all about chasing power. Woodward was useful to the extent he was able to topple Nixon (anti-Russian socialist) and replace him with Carter (dupe). Now he's going after Obama, he's going to find out how many friends he's got, which is none.

109 "Nixon" was when the media began interferring directly in the political process for purely partisan reasons.

Since then they have stepped up their push to be at the table and with the Clintons and Obama, they're getting their chance.

The press is free in anticipation that they would compete for the hearts and minds. After Nixon they took the attitude that they would endeavor to emulate the Robber Barons and cooperate towards one goal.

It took the internet to finally allow them to do so in real time.

Journolist only scratched the surface. Think they didn't do that at other levels then or now?

They should be charged with anti trust violations but the Repubs are willing to look the other way in return for . . who know?

I cannot, nor would I ever try to legally threaten Ogabe, Slow joe, Stretch Pelosi, Searchlight Stalker et al...

but if MSNBC wanna-be tough guy lawyers can threaten Trig Romney I can start to make life as uncomfortable for the juiceBox pro-Am circuit as certain assholes who lived close to the Brickyard here where I'm at have made right leaning media....

Those reporters i DC are scrabbling for money. I follow a lot of them on Twitter and they are enchanted by the stuff they see from the high elite (expensive restaurants, fancy cars, foreign trips, clothing, etc.). They aspire to that life style, despite their faux concern for the poor.

So I say tempt them with the idea that for the rest of their lives they can live the "lifestyles of the rich and famous."

215 Oh, Woodward's a prick with a giant hard on for anything that remotely smacks of conservatism. But he's committed to paper facts that Obama is trying to fudge right now to fool the Media LIV followers.

Anyone who's got more of an attention span than a gerbil remembers what was done and why and that Obama Owns the Sequester and that his scare mongering is patently obvious.

That's why Bob stepping up and stating the facts is so dangerous. Bob doesn't see that because he thinks it's a good thing that Obama owns the Sequester but Obama wants to push the Repubs as far as he can to increase the anxiety amongst the proles. To do that he's got to demonize them any way he can.

Bob apparently didn't get the memo or some bright spark forget to send one to him.

Now they've both committed to different facts and it's going to be interesting to see who blinks first. But not useful for any of us. Or the country.

Obama's been threatening/freezing out media that dare criticize him. In this case, Woodward had a detailed, published account of the 2011 Sequestration deal out there - uncontested by the White House - before Obama decided to rearrange the facts in the past few weeks. I don't think it will bring him down, but after 4 years, this sort of thing is bound to happen again. Here's hoping it happens in the next year (yeah, I know, fat chance).

Good idea, except for one thing: I don't think reporters have the final say on what actually gets broadcast/published. I think most of them are ego-maniacs who would love the recognition and notoriety that comes with bringing down a high-ranking somebody. However, their bosses can squash a story in a millisecond. And, I think the newspaper owners/network executives are the ones who are being told what can't be reported. Just a hunch...

Talked about this the other day.

the electrical style of system used in cars is not good for sensitive silicon substrates.

for most connections, there is no return line. The return is the chassis (frame and any other metal parts attached)

this opens the opportunity for corrosion (ferrous or alumina) to create differing electrical potentials at different places and all depending on what other equipment and loads are currently in use.

Back in the day when timing was done mechanically and the electronics were large type transistors for the radio/tape and everything else was lighting a chassis ground system didn't matter. NOW it does with the result that there are more and more electrical problems (actually electronic as everything is controlled by the computer) occur. And they are a bitch to find and fix.

OK, whatever. Chuck Hagel is in charge of our troops, what could possibly go wrong?

288 BREAKING......Famed newsman Bob Woodward will be found later this evening wandering dazed through Rock Creek Park, drunk and in his underwear. Woodward will be carrying an AR-15 style "Bushmaster" rifle when apprehended, similar to the rifle used in the recent Sandy Hook tragedy.

Park Police, who originally will be called to the Park in response to a report of shots fired, report he has not yet been able explain the circumstances and is speaking incoherently. Reportedly, several sheep, bound in leather straps and wearing Kate Upton brand clothing purchased from a northern Virginia Target store, will also be found in Woodward's car.

More on this developing story tomorrow on "Morning Joe".

289 I didn't think William H. Shirer's 'Rise and fall of the third reich'
would actually read like current events this close. With the GOP
thinking of 'ceding' power to Obama for six months.. It is a near exact
copy of the 'enabling act' that the reichstag passed, giving Hitler the
power of decree for six months. Six months.. riiiiight

The gangster tactics of Obama are a near copy of the NSDAP

I've
got a bad feeling my grandchildren will be reading something similar to
Shirer's genius works 50 years from now.. Our generation will be
laughed at and disgraced as the one who let democracy die.. right in
front of us, just because we were too afraid of being called a racist

291 That bit where Woodward started going on about what Obama would do/say if the President found out his subordinates are going around issuing thinly veiled threats was priceless. Woodward's not a stupid man, which means he knows perfectly well how the boys from Chicago operate.

The go-ahead to fuck with Woodward probably took the form of meaningful looks exchanged between the President and the 'highly placed staffer' when Woodward's story came up as a topic of discussion. That quote from King Henry II comes to mind: 'Will no one rid me of this meddlesome priest?'

It should be pointed out that many of the defendants in Stalin's show trials were genuinely contrite and completely sincere in their public confessions. They loved Comrade Stalin and praised his name even as the secret police entered their cells, put them on their knees, and shot them in the base of their very remorseful skulls.

293 Nobody should be surprised at the left's attacks on Woodward. Today's leftist differs from the Khmer Rouge, Uncle Joe's Russian and Maoist henchmen only in language. If they had their way, every "dissenter" would be silenced.

294 Now "tolerant and loving" liberals liberals on politics boards who applauded Woodward over the Watergate investigation are calling him a "right wing Donald Trump". They will say or do anything to achieve their ends-lying is no handicap.

295 Oh, the coming sheet storm is going to be so delightful! The economy hasn't even cratered yet and the Obama Fluffer Formation can't wait to pile on any dissenters to their naked emperor.

The one squishy moderate and the 2 liberals that were on WLS-AM Chicago (between Limbaugh and Hannity) Monday were ALL cringing over the Michelle Obama Oscar stunt.

Coming up Friday the budget cuts and unemployment! Geez, I wonder how that is going to play itself out?

Is this week going to be looked at by future generations as the High Water mark of Liberalism? Does Liberalism once and for all freefall into its inevitable death spiral?

Posted by: liontooth at February 28, 2013 01:19 AM (xk0Xg)

296 The press continues to cover President Obama.

The thing I have a problem with is that they no longer use the word "cover" to mean report on his activities, whether good or bad and let people know the implications of his speeches and actions.

The press today cover the President using the definition of "cover" as shooting at his enemies so that they will keep their heads down.

297 So, the ultimate answer is NOT for Texas to secede. No, no, the ultimate answer is for Texas to take (at least) Louisiana, the five states straight north (for access to Canadian resources), and Wyoming and Utah, or (at most and preferably) everything east of the San Andreas fault (carving out San Diego to keep as our Pacific port), south of Washington, DC, and whatever useful bits of the Great Lakes states we care to. We would take the Constitution with us, since the current administration and at least half of the population isn't interested in using it anymore. "When, in the course of human events..." seems to be coming closer and closer.

New capitol: Memphis? Nashville? Dallas? Somewhere relatively central and boring like Omaha?

It isn't "secession" if we're kicking THEM OUT of the country.

299 Interesting bit of breaking news on WMAL (DC talk radio)this morning. Lanny Davis, of Clinton White House and impeachment fame, and a Thursday morning regular, admitted that the same thing happened to him after a column he wrote awhile back. He pointed out that it seems even some of the same language was used. I'm not a big fan of Mr. Davis but at least he has the chops on how to deal with bullies. He said he called several Administration officials and made it very clear he was NOT going to regret anything he wrote.

The only useful thing you want from the northeast is ME!

Dallas will be the capital, count it. San Diego would be a great "get" for the port, but the civil unrest is going to be horrific in SoCal. I predict military rule there (DC's rule, not ours) in the not too distant future. Houston is a major port, as is Nawlins, but finding a way to get San Diego would be even better.

We need Alaska too, for the resources. Hawaii will probably return to self-rule, with DC keeping Pearl Harbor and a big chunk of Oahu,

Posted by: BlueStateRebel at February 28, 2013 09:11 AM (7ObY1)

301 As a native, you don't want Dallas as the new capital. The morons running the city would want in and if you think you've seen corrupt race baiting morons in your life, then there's plenty more here and they run the city. Also, traffic is bad enough here that we don't need any more people moving here. WHY WON'T YOU THINK ABOUT MY NEEDS AS A HUMAN BEING?!?!

302 The part about the Left seeing the end game for America as an explanation for this is spot on. They really can't afford to have any pausing in the moving of the American center goal posts to the far left and they react in a crazed Keith Ellison fashion now at the slightest beginning of a debate about anything.
