USGA issued some statement "clearing the way" but I gather the final decision hasn't been made. PGA Tour issued an objection to the ban yesterday, but watching the golf news, it seems no one was particularly convinced by their argument.
I agree about how in hell can you use one, btw. It looks awkward as shit. I guess it goes to show ppl can adjust to anything if they think it's giving them an advantage.

You have to use ammo purchased at that range. Couldn't find any restrictions that tracers weren't allowed. But they also don't reference it in their products section, just ball and self defense rounds. So did an employee sell the tracer rounds or did the shooter bring it in unknown to the employees.

I'm a golfer that doesn't use an anchored putter and I think its silly that the argument is that it is not in the spirit of the game. No offense because its not only you that say this but a number of all time greats too.
The 'spirit of the game' was to hit the ball with the head of the stick. It didn't care how you did it. Because there was an optimal way to do it, it basically came down to just one way everyoneeventually did it. If you want to anchor your driver by all means do it. It will be a disadvantage. Stats also show that an anchored putter holds no advantage.And anchoringalso has been a legalpart of the game for over 80 years in one form or another. If it held any significant advantage you could be assured that everyone would have gone to it.

It's surprising to me simply because the Oscars are so politicized, and JL doesn't fit the mold. She's anti-Hollywood in a lot of ways, (planning to move from H'wood and just work there) she's famous for her "Screw PETA" quote (I love her just for THAT!) she's pro-gun and she starred in The Hunger Games. Now, JL may be a lib for all I know, but in the highly-politicized world of the Oscars, having starred in an anti-Big Government film should have disqualified for life, or at least until she rehabilitates herself by making a good little propaganda film that pleases the Regime.
Don't know how or why they let Lawrence get the win, but I'm glad she won.

Concerning sequestration, defense cuts and the like...
Part of the cuts should be closing West Point, the Naval Academy and the Air Force Academy. These are antiquated institutions that perpetuatea culture ofisolation between the services which needs to be eliminated, along with 90% of the field grade officers who won't be able to accept the change.
While we're at it, the "intellegence" services need a complete housecleaning. When is the last time they were right about anything?
We need the strongest, most effective military and intellegence agencies in the world. Sometimes you need to stop what you're doing and go back to square one to accomplish the goal.

Yes doing my own reloading would be an option and beneficial since I'm hording what I have now and reducing my range time.

There was a study on this back in the old days, about who made a better officer - someone just out of the academy or someone who spent time as enlisted and came through OCS - I don't remember the outcome.
There was lots of pushback when there was a big RIF (reduction in force) and captains ended up as staff sargents. Good arguments to be made on both sides.

The only "wrong" answer to me, back in the day when I interviewedoh so many people, was the blank stare of someone who was surprised by that question.
If it's a standard interview question, one should be prepared to answer it. And if you're not prepared to do this interview right, why should I have faith that you will do the job well?

I'm torn. I really should set up a mini-RAID box but that's all efforty and effort is bad. I'm thinking two 1 TBs for separate desktop and laptop backups because I have met me and I know damn well that partitioning out a 2 TB won't work because I'll forget which partition is for which backup, yes, even when it's labeled. I'm snowflakey like that.

Used to be that they had to have a seperate Officer class, fromt the edumacated, because they were the only ones who could run logistics, and... read maps...
Now? with todays College Grads? there is very little Military benefit to the education they get in College.... and it would be a huge benefit to those on the Line, to know that those in Charge... actualy knew what the hell they did for a living.

Any change to the current institutions should be made with added emphasis on the NCOs. We all know they are the core of the services.
It'd have been nice to see how the IAF progressed in this respect. Now, I imagine they will regress into their former incompetence. Shame, they could have developed into a formidable force, given their teachers.
