Funny how a lot of broadway stage productions (like this and Rent) were celebrating the urban decay of NYC just as it was becoming much safer, richer, gentrified, disneyfied.

50 Senators Write Letter To Hagel Asking Him To Explain His Assertion That State Dept Is Controlled By Israel

AND:

In April the EEOC unveiled its “Enforcement Guidance on the Consideration of Arrest and Conviction Records,” which declares that “criminal record exclusions have a disparate impact based on race and national origin.”

The impetus for this “guidance” is that black men are nearly seven times more likely than white men to serve time in prison, and therefore refusals to hire convicts disproportionally impact blacks, according to a Wall Street Journal opinion piece by James Bovard, a libertarian author and lecturer whose books include “Freedom in Chains: The Rise of the State and the Demise of the Citizen.”

68 WASHINGTON (AP) -- Soldiers deployed to Afghanistan next year may see their war tours extended because budget cuts will drastically limit training for brigades to replace them, the top Army general said Friday.

Gen. Raymond Odierno, the Army chief of staff, said the military will be able to fund training and operations for combat units in Afghanistan now and for those deploying in the summer and fall. But he says there will be delays in training for those deploying in 2014.

If those training delays can't be made up, Odierno said he would have to send forces to war that aren't ready or extend deployments of units already there. A number of combat brigades will be deploying later this year and next year, even as the U.S. winds down the war.

"We will try to divert money so we do not have to extend people in Afghanistan," Odierno told a conference at the Brookings Institution in Washington. "That's a very big concern of mine."

Apparently not of obama's since it is off to another vacation to play golf. Disgraceful

Yep. I'm not worried about the left trying to destroy him as much as I am the right.

210 His entire demeanor is opposite Barry's. He's quiet spoken, friendly, smiling, and out-going. No fake mannerisms.

He comes across as a man any of us could meet and sit down with and have an intelligent conversation with. No snark, no attitude, just respect toward his fellow Americans.

I like.

He is saying that in our current state, the average voter is NOT educated about our form of government.
He wants to change that.
I swear....he is the quiet Moron.
And a new thread is up

212 Well, husband's scouting tonight (cold and rainy) and I've taken a half an ambien. So night, all.

(Hoping I don't have frightening dreams tonight as I did in the wee hours this morning...about my dead mommy and other family...UGH.)

I love it when the learning-disabled can have fun.
In private this > in public this.
Bongo fury!
Crescendo and collapse, percussion aposiopesis.
That wasn't excruciatingly long.

215 Can we have "Caravan" with a drum solo, man? At least that's got some music.

Sorta.

216 I saw it in Miami Beach and it was pretty good... a good pick for an audience with a tenuous grasp of English. Some bits were good and the audience dug it, others....like with plastic bags...soso.
However, my late husband and I saw Jackie Mason there during the Clinton years. And. He. Killed. We were quoting him to each other for years. He said that Hillary was reported as having a lot of different positions on health care and that if she was really that interested in different positions her marriage wouldn't be in so much trouble.

218 I have seen this live. I can't remember why. Starts out pretty neat but gets old quickly. They do a number with sweeping brooms, I assume to give the audience a break and cut down on chance of them turning on each other.

219 68 I think this might be a scare news story, we just had an article in the paper here in JAX that a deployment was cancelled. It was at the very last minute, families had flown in to say good-bye.
