Instapundit on Brett Baier, Discussing a World Where Everything is a Crime

Sometime in the hour -- assuming he wasn't already on and I missed him. Which I doubt, because the first 15 minutes is all news, no think-stuff.

Important article.

Kurt Schlicter has argued the same premise.

Update: @rdbrewer tells me the segment had a glitch, and it will appear instead on Fox's website.

Why would that be? What kind of person would be inclined to write laws like that?

He said with the tax law, if "they" wanted to get you on something, it's so easy to do with the tax law. So, he more of less protected his ass from feds. If feds do come after his butt, he no doubt would raise a stink and create a huge movement.

"Did you really think we want those laws observed?" said Dr.
Ferris. "We want them to be broken. You'd better get it straight
that it's not a bunch of boy scouts you're up against. We're after
power and we mean it. There's no way to rule innocent men. The only
power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals. Well,
when there aren't enough criminals one makes them. One declares so many
things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without
breaking laws. Who wants a nation of law-abiding citizens? What's there
in that for anyone? But just pass the kind of laws that can neither be
observed nor enforced or objectively interpreted and you create
a nation of law-breakers and then you cash in on guilt. Now that's
the system, Mr. Rearden, that's the game, and once you understand it,
you'll be
much easier to deal with."

Fuck him.

I was already pissed off at Fox for the way they treated Rick Perry during the primaries...and pushed Romney 24/7.

I was talking about your attempted takedown of Beck, Rush, and Levin.

They've all rejected Rove and his political philosophy. I consider those three the true broadcast voices of conservatism. Savage is conservative, but he's also bitter at things unattached to politics. To me, he sounds like a mean drunk.

Posted by: Soona at February 15, 2013 07:01 PM (TdMZc)

99 72-- The leftists in the NEA have been working for a FEDERAL curriculum for a long, long time. The last big attempt to mandate one was in the 90's.

Nancy Katzenbaum was the senator who led the resistance to it. At first, being something of a RINO, she was sold on the idea, but she soon found out that what they were after is imposing left-wing indoctrination across the board.

The feds need to get OUT of K-12 education completely. This is exactly like the establishment of religion.

I used to have Fox News on all the time while on the internet and or reading email. I've shut them off. I still listen to Rush and Levin. Levin will never go along with Rove.
Rush stays out of republican infighting.

Hannity is not on my listening list. I usually listen to a local host at three in Boston, unless he has a fill in that I can't stand.

Posted by: CarolT at February 15, 2013 07:02 PM (z4WKX)

103 ........levin and lindbaugh are not saying anything that doesn't completely dovetail with the rovian status quo.

They must be listening to a different show than I do. Levin chews Rove ass contstantly.

107 What would the Supreme Soviet do?

At some point in time, I can't point to the exact day, the Russians became capitalists, and the USA became socialists/communists.

I cited an example of 'central planning' although I did not cite whether it was a five year plan or not. I suspect it is only four years, until the next socialist/communist (D) wins the next presidential election.

So we all blithely purchase our 'Made in China' shit, 47% believing that some midget chinaman standing in front of a tank actually brought democracy to China. Wrong. They are a nation of 1.2 billion communists. American people are pretty damn stupid.

Wheatie, my computer keeps changing your name. Rove started Fox News treating Perry the way they did. There is a Bush/Perry feud that goes way back. GHW Bush and the rest of them endorsed Hutchinson over Perry for Governor in 2010.
Fox was horrible to Perry, and they loved Romney.

Whoeveredited/produced Insty's segment did a pretty shitty job in identifying the people giving commentary on the issue. Nobody who hasn't seen him on camera before would have any way to know who he was or why he was talking about the topic.

113 In The collapse of the american criminal justice system, the late author Stulz said we should take a hard look at the US Constitution, in particular the bill of rights.
Amendments:
1. Leave as is.
2. same.
3. same.
4. narrowly interpret it to apply to "papers". Who the hell cares about a warrant for a crack lab?
for the rest, only things that harm others are criminal.
I could go on stealing from this book but you can get it at the local library and anyway I didn't unnerstand half of it.
