3 Convicted Rapist Organizes Demonstration to Support Disarming Potential Rape Victims

A recent gun show in Ohio was protested by a dozen or so by opponents of American’s 2nd Amendment civil liberties. Included in their denunciations was the commonly spouted lie of illegal gun sales. The irony, of course, in McCorry insisting that any gun is useless for self defense, is that McCorry is actually a convicted rapist, as revealed by Chad D. Baus at the Buckeye Firearms Association

34 Ohai, ONT!

It's been asked why I'm in the john again. Last week I started my new job - and ended it, I found out, on Saturday.

I still had stuff left over there and I had to return the company's laptop. So today at 7 AM sharp I showed up to deal with all that. I didn't want the drama / everyone to watch the humiliation / whatever. Figured it was best not even to give the APPEARANCE of causing a scene. So - break of dawn it is.

There were a couple others there and one, interestingly, was one of the folks who interviewed me in the first place. It turned out that he didn't even know that I'd been flushed. He looked pretty upset that it had happened; like the recruiter was upset.

Am guessing that today was a rotten day at that office. Because (I'd been told) there were a lot of other layoffs as well, some of which (I suspect) might not have got the news until today.

I'm glad I'm out of there, although it does suck that I'm back "on the market" again

Posted by: AD at February 04, 2013 10:01 PM (oOaA8)

42 We talk a lot about trying to retake the culture and the media, and there's a show that deserves particular attention for advancing a Conservative perspective on a major network. Not only that, it's really entertaning.

ABC's "Last Man Standing" with Tim Allen is very funny and has a definite rightward bent. For example, last week's episode was about one of the daughters' decision to join JROTC and finding inspiration in a wounded veteran. The protagonist is an unabashed critic of Obama and there's some really humorous material. (Responding to a hippie who uses unbleached toilet paper, "Toilet paper and presidents are two things that are just supposed to be white.")

The show comes on ABC on Fridays and of course you can find past episodes online. The show doesn't just deserve your support, it's the rare sitcom that's actually funny these days. Check it out.

63 Former Texas representative Ron Paul is qualifying his contention that the murder of former Navy SEAL and ace sniper Chris Kyle demonstrates that “He who lives by the sword dies by the sword.”

Paul has taken to both Twitter and Facebook to respond to the outrage elicited by his commentary. “As a veteran, I certainly recognize that this weekend’s violence and killing of Chris Kyle were a tragic and sad event,” he wrote on his Facebook page. “My condolences and prayers go out to Mr. Kyle’s family. Unconstitutional and unnecessary wars have endless unintended consequences. A policy of non-violence, as Christ preached, would have prevented this and similar tragedies.”

101 So, looks like I finally finished arguing with a random Slashdotter on the plausibility of a future robotic dystopia.

He claimed we needed to worry about robots eliminating the majority of jobs, leaving the masses with no possible method of earning a living and needing a socialist state to take care of them. He didn't grasp the concept that jobs are a function of human want; and if there's want, there're jobs to be filled. (and the ability of robots to undercut humans in *all* jobs is limited)

Basically, it's a doomsday scenario based on linear extrapolation, ignoring the law of diminishing returns and negative feedback loops that apply to the robots and the economics. He insisted at the end that my skepticisim was "denialism", and that my "extraordinary" claim required extraordinary evidence.

Just had to get that off my chest. It was amusing, at least.

Isn't Anything and the 12" singles released from it got much harder and faster; with that album you could see the influence MBV had on Ride, Swervedriver, the Boo Radleys, et al. I think his defenders have very good arguments that he wasn't the tyrant Shakespeare portrayed to be (in fact, I'm not sure that's even debatable at this point), but there's still that princes in the tower bit. I have yet to come across a substantial argument that he shouldn't be considered the prime suspect.

179 Regarding the finding of Richard III's body (may he rest in peace):

When my husband visited a Yorkshire coal mine in the 90's, the company tie was the White Rose of York.

York petitioned to have his body buried in their cathedral.

Richard III was the first king to allow bail, and to grant some freedom of expression.

My personal opinion is that he was treated by the Tudors much as Bush is being treated by the democrats.

I hope they have a huge and solemn Catholic funeral mass for him (he was Catholic as all of England was prior to Henry VIII).

God rest his soul.

The burial of Richard III, last English king to be killed in battle, will be "Christian-led but ecumenical".

In other words it won't be a Christian burial at all.

Richard III was a Catholic and deserves a Catholic burial. This ritual is a desecration of Richard's remains.

308 Paranoidgirlinseattle - You can always quote a Supreme Court Justice:

"The Constitution is either a superior, paramount law, unchangeable by ordinary means, or it is on a level with ordinary legislative acts and, like other acts, is alterable when the legislature shall please to alter it. If the former part of the alternative be true, then a legislative act contrary to the Constitution is not law; if the latter part be true, then written constitutions are absurd attempts, on the part of the people, to limit a power in its own nature illimitable."

"Thus, the Constitution is either The Supreme Law of the Land, superceding all other laws, or the Constitution is a worthless piece of paper. If the latter, government can do as it pleases. If the former, tyrants have seized sovereignty illegally, it is the duty of the people to put them in their proper place in history." - Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, John Marshall - 1803

The Delphi Method:
" The following key characteristics of the Delphi method help the participants to focus on the issues at hand and separate Delphi from other methodologies:
Structuring of information flow
The initial contributions from the experts are collected in the form of answers to questionnaires and their comments to these answers. The panel director controls the interactions among the participants by processing the information and filtering out irrelevant content. This avoids the negative effects of face-to-face panel discussions and solves the usual problems of group dynamics.
[edit]Regular feedback
Participants comment on their own forecasts, the responses of others and on the progress of the panel as a whole. At any moment they can revise their earlier statements. While in regular group meetings participants tend to stick to previously stated opinions and often conform too much to the group leader; the Delphi method prevents it.
[edit]Anonymity of the participants
Usually all participants remain anonymous. Their identity is not revealed, even after the completion of the final report. This prevents the authority, personality, or reputation of some participants from dominating others in the process. Arguably, it also frees participants (to some extent) from their personal biases, minimizes the "bandwagon effect" or "halo effect", allows free expression of opinions, encourages open critique, and facilitates admission of errors when revising earlier judgments.
[edit]Role of the facilitator

The person coordinating the Delphi method can be known as a facilitator, and facilitates the responses of their panel of experts, who are selected for a reason, usually that they hold knowledge on an opinion or view. The facilitator sends out questionnaires, surveys etc. and if the panel of experts accept, they follow instructions and present their views. Responses are collected and analyzed, then common and conflicting viewpoints are identified. If consensus is not reached, the process continues through thesis and antithesis, to gradually work towards synthesis, and building consensus.

This made me think about something that happened to me the other day. I got pulled over by a cop and he wrote me a speeding ticket (deserved). But because CO law says there shall be no registration of gun permit owners, he could not check and see if I had a CCW to ask me if I was armed. (I was). That's a very neutral description of a non-neutral process.

In my experience it's pretty much always a process to make people accept a pre-defined conclusion and convince them they had some part in it.

They will *describe* their efforts as neutral, but they will marginalize people who won't participate, split people up into groups and choose only people who seem agreeable to talk, etc.

380 I thought it an eccentricity on my part that I liked that Scottish play better than Hamlet, but I see I have company. They're all a little bit derivative, you know; must have been interesting to hear people in the day compare different playwright's new treatments of the old matter. Shaw has a line, "To see The Spanish Tragedy, one pays," that points up that Shakespeare was, at least for most of his life, not even the leading writer. I do believe he existed, but then I believe Oswald acted alone.

Someday I'm doing a remake of Othello with a white guy. It's revisionism.

I've heard good cases made for Lear and the Tempest (Romiet and Julio not so much), but my personal fave is "Measure for Measure," which has a pretty strong political/cultural thing going on for us the last 40 years or so. Maybe even the last 140 or so.

I may have seen a BBC of it in the 80's, but AFAIK it's never been A Major Motion Picture, so of course it can't be recognized as one of the major plays.

404 Polydore Vergil, Henry Tudor's official historian, would later record that "King Richard, alone, was killed fighting manfully in the thickest press of his enemies".[39] Richard's naked body was then exposed, possibly in the collegiate foundation of the Annunciation of Our Lady, before being buried at Greyfriars Church, Leicester.[40] In 1495, Henry VII paid £50 for a marble and alabaster monument.[40] According to a now discredited tradition, during the Dissolution of the Monasteries his body was thrown into the nearby River Soar,[41] although other evidence suggests that a memorial stone was visible in 1612, in a garden built on the site of Greyfriars.[40] The exact location was then lost, owing to more than 400 years of subsequent development,[42] until the archaeological investigations of 2012 (see the Identification of remains section) revealed the site of the garden and of Greyfriars church. There is currently a memorial ledger stone in the choir of the Cathedral, as well as a stone plaque on the bridge where tradition had suggested his remains were thrown into the Soar.

450 It doesn't seem he was given a proper burial although, as I speculated above, maybe the Franciscans did something afterwards.

The grave was very irregular, with sloping sides and a concave base,’ said Richard Buckley. ‘It seemed to have been hastily dug – it was too short for the individual interred in it.’

Richard's remains seem to have been dumped unceremoniously into the grave cut; his legs were lower than the rest of the body, suggesting they had gone in first, and his torso was twisted, with his head propped up by a corner of the grave. Unusually for Medieval burials, his arms were not extended at his sides, but crossed at the wrists over his pelvis. While no trace of any binding survives, the team have speculated that this might suggest that his hands had been tied when he was buried. No evidence of clothing, a shroud, a coffin, or personal effects were found with him.

Eternity is beyond time (as we experience it.)
We usually think of eternity as timelessness or everlastingness (time in an infinite linear progression) but it is really time in the perspective of God, which made be infinitely multiple or singular, but beyond our reckoning, not to mention that it may involve an infinite multiplicity of speeds or a run-on sentence.

Did you know there is sound in space? True story.

That sound is so hushed that no ear can discern it. The vibration of atoms an arm's length apart is undetectable, but even if only in metaphor, it is still sound.

The sound is like a whisper, it is the voice of matter itself, caressing objects in deep space as they pass through the impossibly thin atmosphere of hydrogen, trace elements, and the dust of dead stars and worlds. Only impossibly delicate instruments, the imagination or the unconscious mind can hear the voice of the universe whispering against the skin of such objects.

If you listen carefully, in your sleep, you can hear the collected voices of primitive cultures vibrate like rushing wind or rolling water against the very atmosphere that surrounds you.

Put *that* in your pipe and smoke it, tripbot!

Ive also heard finger pointing at the local utility Entergy that the problem was on their end in some monitoring equipment detected feedback in the main circuits and they tripped some breakers. As for the lights in the game, if they were as i suspect either mercury vapor or metal halide lights, them bastards take some time (10 minutes) from when you turn em off till they cool off and are able to restart and come up to full brightness.

It definitely wasn't just the lights shutting off and waiting for them to warm back up though. The radio broadcast completely cut out and they had to resort to calling over the phone to get broadcasting back. Its likely that a lot of CBS's broadcast was running off some of those generators.

Boomer Esiason claimed that Beyonce's rehearsals knocked the power out in the Superdome twice

Roger
Goodell has stated emphatically that the Halftime show did NOT cause
the blackout. Since Goodell is a serial liar, I'll take that as
confirmation that Beyonce DID blow out the lights

original commercial did have him start by slapping the prom queen's ass after which she turned around and kissed him.

I don't mean Valerie or the Democrat Party or George Soros, but something not of this world? I guess I first got the feeling that something was seriously wrong with his soul when I heard about his vote on the babies born live whom he wished to let die. What kind of monster wants something like that? It is like our President is one of those severely emotionally damaged kids from the Romanian orphanages... 676 A scandal involving Nebraska's Lt. Gov. Rick Sheehy and thousands of phone calls he made to four women, none his wife, on a state-issued cellphone ended with his abrupt resignation Saturday.

So I'm reading this long ass article and it never did say if this POS was a R or a D. You get to the end of the Article and a state dem strategist is talking about him running for Gov. They even through in a little blurb that it doesn't matter if he's an R or a D. The Media needs a little rejuvenation.

No, it's a shotgun - some debate over whether beretta or browning, it looks almost exactly like models from both lines.

705 I'm working on the second one. It picks up right where the other leaves off. It's a little more difficult because I have to make it stand on it's own. Describing the Characters without rewriting the first book. I also made the Mrs. a deal, I have to make enough on this one to pay off the $3500 in publishing costs. Then I can publish another.

Oh yeah, she won't read it. She knows whats real and whats not. It upsets her.

I am of the mind, a time that tests the soul of a True man of the Republic.
There can be no doubt that the forces of EVIL...aka...Obama and his commie ilk, stand ready to take this country down and to hoist our flag on their petard.
THIS MUST NOT STAND! We must not seek diolouge with those that wish to just crush us outright.....

It is time to PUNCH BACK!!!! On every level...24/7....forget the civil, brush back with scorn, raise fists and threaten.. stare down. beat down. Elbow thrust the code pink... side swipe a PRIUS on the freeway.....pepper spray anyone that even LOOKS like an OWS POS and use a steel pipe on all Black-Bloc members within arm's reach. If we all take this attitude Things will go ALOT better...faster.
