Like the Taco Bell Doritos Taco?

Wait until you try Doritos Taco Bell-flavored chips.

The snack food giant plans to roll out its Doritos in a "Taco Bell" flavor as a limited-time product this spring, aiming to capitalize on the popularity of the Doritos-flavored tacos introduced by the fast-food chain last year.

Frito-Lay says it will be the first time since the 1990s that it has offered Doritos branded with the logo of a national restaurant chain.

Nacho Cheese Doritos Locos Tacos has been one of the biggest new menu items in recent times, with Taco Bell selling more than 300 million of the tacos with flavored shells since their introduction in March.

Wanting to parlay the success of the Doritos taco launch, Taco Bell is considering its next shell flavors – Flamas and Cool Ranch.

The two flavors are being tested in various regions, including some Orange County Taco Bell restaurants. The chain declined to reveal the test locations. There’s no guarantee the flavors will roll out, Taco Bell said.

During our taste test, I enjoyed the chili lime flavor of the Flamas taco shell over the less interesting Cool Ranch shell. The Flamas offered a two-dimensional flavor experience. At first, you taste a hint of lime with a hint of cheesy spice. Then, the heat follows a few seconds later. It’s a great pairing with Taco Bell’s signature seasoned beef.

"An impudent little taco..."

I gather from the Fox article that Cool Ranch won and is the next flavor to be offered. Which sounds -- horrible.

In 1980 and even in 1990, you would be correct. But two things have happened:

1) punters have gotten far better. The difference between the best and worst punters is about 20 yards per game on average.

2) with the opening up of the passing game, especially since 2003, field position has diminsihed meaning.

I'm spoiled by having the Patriots as my home town team. On offense, there is almost no difference for them in terms of degree of difficulty between a 70 yard drive and a 90 yard drive. And on defense, they don't even wake up until the other team gets inside the 20.

It's just a different game than it ever was at the pro level.

233 Ray Guy was the first and only punter ever to be selected in the first round in the NFL Draft as of 1973. Ray Guy retired in 1986. During his career, Guy:

Played in 207 consecutive games
Punted 1,049 times for 44,493 yards, averaging 42.4 yards per punt, with a 33.8 net yards average
Had 210 punts inside the 20 yard line (not counting his first 3 seasons, when the NFL did not keep track of this stat), with just 128 touchbacks
Led the NFL in punting three times
Had a streak of 619 consecutive punts before having one blocked
Has a record of 111 career punts in post season games
Had five punts of over 60 yards during the 1981 season

I love (and own) dogs and cats, but how can you consider cats the "liberals of the animal world" when cats are much more independent and self-reliant than dogs?
Honestly, domesticated dogs are blindly loyal even to the worst master, will listen to whatever command you give them without thinking (and regardless of how stupid it makes them look), and are pretty much 100% dependent on their humans for food and shelter. While those are qualities that are nice in a pet -- that pretty much sums up the left's relationship with the government, IMO.
Cats, OTOH, are basically the complete opposite.

It's my understanding that a lot of the "greatness" of Citizen Kane is because of innovative camera techniques Orson Wells used while filming it that changed the way movies were made. It's often said Wells "revolutionized" film making with that movie.

The whole morality tale about the main character's longing for his youth on his death bed (the name of the sled being his last words) despite all the wealth and power he accumulated in his life is meh, IMO.

You are correct. That, and he had the Tarantino effect: writing, directing, and starring in it while only 24 years old.

But....as Pajiba lays out in their review of it, if a film is going to be labeled "The Greatest Film" off all time it's got to deliver a helluva lot more than that.

I would put the Godfathers I and II ahead of it by a mile.

Interesting points re dogs vs cats. Cats expect to be served for doing absolutely nothing except existing, and (to me) show little appreciation (liberal). Where as a dog is willing to labor for his care and feeding (conservative).

Not to mention, if a murderer broke into a cat owner's home, a cat would continue to lick himself or even rub against the murderer's leg as he stabbed the homeowner to death. Most dogs, even the little purse dogs, would at least try to protect the owner.

LOL Well, I guess it is all in how a person views the different qualities dogs and cat each possess.

I have to agree on one thing -- cats aren't grateful like dogs -- but I think it is because cats have higher self-esteem/aren't people pleasers like dogs are. IMO, you share living space with a cat in a partnership -- you feed him; he kills any rodents or bugs that come in the house, and if you let him outside, he'll bring back some of the spoils from the hunt to you.
You never really are a cat's "owner" like you are with a dog -- heck, if you let him be indoor/outdoor there is a good chance he will not come back if he finds a place he likes better.

506 GGE- Re: Broke gun. Let me fast forward to the "Rosebud" ending for anyone who has seen "Citizen Cane". I broke a $2 pin on a damn battle rifle on the first cleaning.

Took the new Barnes Patrolman's Carbine (AR) out for the maiden voyage, and to zero the scope. After discovering a loose riser under the scope after 50 rounds I felt idiotic enough, but had fun, and went home.

Disassembled the bolt to clean, and when reinserting the firing pin, didn't have the firing pin all the way in (didn't realize of cousre) but you can still reinsert the cotter pin, and it all goes back together, THEN FREAKIN JAMS, and you can't drop the lower. Finally worked it open to properly assemble the bolt and carrier, and in the process broke a $2 buffer retention detent (pin) A TWO DOLLAR PIN on a battle rifle. Any idiot could have done what I did tonight, even after watching multiple YouTube vids in advance.

I would have thought this 60 year old design might be a little more idiot proof. SHIT. Now the part is on back order.

It was I -- and thank you, I have seen Spellbound. Great flick.

Gregory Peck is one of my favorites (even though he was before my time, I'm a fan of old movies), so I've seen most everything he's been in. I also really like Hitchcock, so of course Spellbound is right up my alley.

Something about the older movies -- not only do the actors and actresses seem more glamorous, but they were much more reliant on *story,* IMO -- maybe because there weren't as many special effects then.

Nice! I looked at buying the springer version of this bike before I retired from the USN, could have gotten a good deal on it through the Navy Exchange, but didn't want to risk having a bike payment if I couldn't find a job right away. As it turns out I could have done it, I had a job before I got out. They don't make them now of course.

629 Skeet shooting is a recreational and competitive activity where participants, using shotguns, attempt to break clay disks automatically flung into the air from two fixed stations at high speed from a variety of angles.

Trapshooting was originally developed, in part, to augment bird hunting and to provide a method of practice for bird hunters. Use of targets was introduced as a replacement for live pigeons. Indeed, one of the names for the targets used in shooting games is clay pigeons. The layout of a modern trapshooting field differs from that of a skeet field and/or a sporting clays course.

Sporting clays is a form of clay pigeon shooting, often described as "golf with a shotgun" because a typical course includes from 10 to 15 different shooting stations laid out over natural terrain. For safety, the course size is often no smaller than 35 acres (140,000 m2).[1]

Unlike trap and skeet, which are games of repeatable target presentations, sporting clays simulates the unpredictability of live-quarry shooting, offering a great variety of trajectories, angles, speeds, elevations, distances, and target sizes.[2]

director of the San Antonio-based association.

Hampton said Obama's remark about "skeet shooting all the time" and

As someone who wrote press releases for a railroad, I can attest that there are now, as always, regular derailments.

Thousands of trains pulling tens of thousands of cars each day... the odds are on something happening. Most derailments are very minor but sometimes bad luck/weather strikes and there are several newsworthy events in short order.

I went to bike week one year. Took bicycle and motorcycle. Strange fucking people. Halve are going to AA and halve are still drunk

Believe it or not, things have calmed down considerably in recent years. And I say this after nearly 20 years doing gigs in the area at various bars. Did many years at the Boot Hill Saloon and now at the Cabbage Patch.

It's a fun atmosphere, with boobehs and booze everywhere (and coleslaw wrasslin), nothing to fear. Everybody's on the same side.

680 Ok thanks ndh I will take off the stylish tinfoil hat I donned.

It wasn't a bad question. If you don't work in the industry you really wouldn't be expected to know that they happen with regularity.

There are a LOT of moving parts on a railroad and the maintenance is constant, still.... rain can destabilize the soil under a track and exceptionally cold weather can cause cracks.

It happens.

681 Yeah, Sturgis is Daytona with hills. Still, there
has to be somebody who comes down here semi-regularly. If we could take
up a collection for bail...

I would love to ride my bike down to Florida. A lady I used to do stuff with is a bartender in Pompano Beach- that's on the way, right?

682 I think Dorothy Malone, was 21, when she did Big Sleep, Bergman, was more of a classic beauty, whereas Isabella was more exotic, and the reason Citizen
Kane's ending was not about a sled, ahem,

Pompano Beach is about 230 miles south of Daytona.

686 Took Mrs. EROWMER to the range today to catch up on her training. She shot the new AR15, and the Sig 556, and really liked the AR better. It has Magpul flip backup iron sights and is kinda cool. I prefer the Sig, maybe because of 22 years military with the M16. Anyway, I mentioned to another shooter that I might give her the AR15. He pointed at her heading back from downrange smiling at her target and said it looked like the AR15 was already hers. She is an accomplished shooter and really needed no training. I just wanted to know if she could fight with the AR. And NDH, nice to see somebody else has a cat named Monkey.

687 See Rick took no money from Lazlo. The money for his trip to the free french is from the French cop

The movie implied that the French police Captain was going to trade visas for sex with the young Bulgarian woman. Rick let her husband win roulette so that she wouldn't have to go through with the deal.

The visas Rick gives Lazlo are the ones taken from the murdered Germans.
