Okay How About This One Then?

logprof, I think, nixed my Spacehog.

So here's Baby Chaos, Ignoramus.

I liked this song immediately. If you hate it immediately, I imagine you'll always hate it. It's not one of those that "grows on you" with its complexity and subtlety. It's a nursery rhyme with amps.

8 I saw the Katie Kouric thing earlier and ignored it. BUT I remembered, growing up in DC area, that she was a local anchor babe before going national.

The local radio DJ's (Don & Mike) would harass Kouric, asking her about what color panties she was wearing (red) when she would call in to discuss the latest cat that climbed up a tree. She was quite kittenish about it.

This reminds me of the physicist that Prager had on Monday. Prager immediately went after the whole concept of a 'scientific' version of Nothing as opposed to a secular one.

Which made me wonder about the idea that our existence is, as we are told by our physicist betters, is made of Things with Nothing interspersed.

That is to say our matrix has both. There aren't two sides to the racquetball court; Nothing and then Thing. There's only All with bits of Thing floating in Nothing. That's the only way I can wrap my teeny grey matter around All.

How did it go today??

Haven't been yet. One of my bass playing buds (who replaced me in a band when I moved to the left coast a few years ago) works there. He's supposed to come over in a couple of weeks with some song charts and show me what he does there. I can't read music, so I'm a bit nervous about it. I told him, he said not to worry, just think tuba parts.

According to him, he thinks I'd be perfect for the new band they're putting together soon. I'm sort of honored that he'd put my name in the barrel (to coin a phrase) and I want to do well at the audition.

426 Ktah-jon actually. Suffered a typo. Fictional character. David Brin's novel 'Startide Rising' Ktah-jon is an uplifted [gene tinkered] dolphin given intelligence by humans. Posted by: Hrothgar - LIB or SMOD (for the Children) at February 01, 2013 09:08 PM (Cnqmv)

Sorry, I stepped away for supper.

No, and I'm a newbie on the 5.56/.223 "black gun" platform (mine is actually FlatDarkEarth) . But now that I have a "brand new" one (I'm glad I have the rifle, but I wish I'd done it before the price run-up), and only 400 rounds of .223, I'm scared to "waste" ammo, until I have more in hand. And I have been looking pretty regularly (I have about 20 sites "favorited").

I have not even shot it yet, to "zero". I want 1,000 rds. of 5.56 in my possession. Then I'll feel good about taking this gun to the range.

I did, however, buy another 75 pack of 12 Ga, #4, "turkey" shells, yesterday, for the house. And I feel really good about that, and the .45 ACP. I am hopeful that AR ammo comes down in price sometime soon (but not making any wagers).

500 Where is Sven? Yes 62gr bullets could have problems. There are several different twists used in AR-15 clones. Twists are the barrel riflings. In a barrel designed for the earlier 55gr bullet, the 62gr bullet will fire but it will not go long range and will tumble in flight. Vice versa, barrel for 62gr will fire 55gr ammo, just the ballistics won't be perfect.

Berdan primed brass CAN be reloaded. Primer tools exist, the process is a pain but are used for the Russian 7.62x39 to enable the Moisin shooters to shoot cheaper.

587 Yeah, I've heard this band before. I think their previous name was Sum 182 Against the Machine. Or something like that.
