CNN's Dana Bash: Several Senators Are in "Shock" Over Hagel's Bumbling Performance

Sorry for all the Hagel stuff today. I certainly didn't plan it (or expect it).

125 Obama doubling down, that's a laugher.

Outside of being reelected (and kicking our ass including winning some red senate seats despite everyone in red states hating him, and surely not because of blue city voter fraud, stuffing the ballots), Obama is a lazy and boring loser who can't move the needle outside of fraudulent PR set pieces like Fast and Furious and Sandy Hook.

Obama doesn't double down, he just ignores all common sense, reason, dictates of good manners, tradition, and other things that would stop him from doing whatever dumbass thing he puts his mind to.

239 Poll: Hillary Clinton could win Texas
By Cameron Joseph - 01/31/13 02:26 PM ET

Hillary Clinton is popular enough to have a real shot at carrying heavily Republican Texas if she runs for president in 2016, according to the Democratic-affiliated Public Policy Polling.
Clinton's approval rating is at 50 percent with 43 percent disapproving, strong marks for any politician in the state — especially a Democrat. In hypothetical matchups, she leads Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) 46 percent to 45 percent, and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) 45 to 43.

well, yeah. That's kinda true. At some point, like most voting blocs in American history, they'll have to learn to hate the donks or become victim's of the donk's policies. The donk's ownership of major city urban voter fraud has made large cities the last resort for them during their dark days. City Machine Politics has never turned from the democrats. Meanwhile, the south has turned from the donks, evangelicals, and a few other groups.

Case in point, the electoral maps from FDR's second election to Nixon's 1972 election showed complete blue to red reversal of the nation. And in the meantime, once FDR finally croaked, some GOP presidents also snuck in (it helps having war heroes).

Well first off, we need to have a party that treats computers as tools and not glorified paper weights and puts more weight on what its base wants and not what consultants say they want.

We also need to start talking about the corporate welfare A LOT LOUDER. Populist tones resonate with the general public. People think that the two parties represent whoever pays the most to get their support.

We also must STOP COMPROMISING. The democrats used their power in the congress to beat the presidency over its head. Boehner could do it in a heartbeat. He has all the power in congress as all the spending starts at his front door.

Well, we did run Mitt Romney and Juan McCain. Two of the most feckless, flip flopping Republican lite candidates in recent memory. When you act like John Kerry (I'm looking at you Romney) and try to get it all ways, you lose.

363 I enjoy refighting the 2012 nomination wars. I thought Romney's positives were being a winning winner who wins and isn't afraid to fight just a wee bit dirty in a deniable fashion.

I don't think romney lost any votes in 2012 because he was too wishy washy. Although, maybe you've just cracked my skull because I think he lost the election in part due to his 2nd debate abdication of the issues,

not telling that feminazi to get lost with that wage disparity bullshit

and

not being snooty in defending W against that other feminazi who thought that W did a worse job than Obama's great depression 2.0.

but he also just took the foot off the gas pedal (and he did get jacked on the Libya question, sadly).

364 "not telling that feminazi to get lost with that wage disparity bullshit"

He had SUCH an opening on that question to turn it on Obama with his own problems with paying his female staff.

Romney played it safe and then started giving metric tons of money to consulting companies.

Romney couldn't close the deal, he almost did, but just like in the primaries, there was something about him that voters did not like. I can name several of my personal qualms, but Romney is just not a likeable person, and Obama is to willfully uneducated voters.

368 I think the liberals enjoy a bumbling, incompetent SecDef. That is what they think on national defense.

In fact, I think they get a good laugh out of it. Bonus he's a Republican.

I bet Journolist is on fire with laughter.

After all, they laughed off the murder of an ambassador and three other American's. One for the cause and all that.

Another AQ attack on America from across the southern border?

No sweat. Talk tough, blame Republicans and make a toast because they've fulfilled their objective.

I believe a large part of the public who voted for Obama could give a shit. So long as they keep getting their "taste" they don't care. Right now they relish the destruction of our country and the significant lack of defense capabilities we are losing- more for them- right?

369 On my drive home, the local radio station covered the Hagel hearing by saying that he had faced tough questions by his former friends, the republicans, "over not turning over documents."!!!!!!
They then played a clip of Hagel saying he had received the request for financial documents just yesterday, and was working on complying.

And... on to the next story. (And this was on John and Ken's station!) *sigh*

Kind of amusing, but why is such a ridiculous performance by such a pathetically unimpressive and unfit person even that noticeable?

We have somebody who could never in his life have worked as my intern as "president", and a buffoon as VP who is worse than fictional/comedy caricatures of dumb DC types (and was considered a buffoon for decades even within the dim Beltway). And Boxer, as noted above. And don't forget Murray. Try to imagine, in your wildest dreams, any GOPer saying something as idiotic as her bit about al-Qaeda being popular because of their support for day-care centers (well OK, lots of GOPers say idiotic stuff all the time, but it's a bit more complicated usually - not the jaw-dropping idiocy of a Murray).

Remember, it's not some anonymous "FSA" that has beclowned the country, rendering it unserious, and barfing on the graves and legacy of so much good done by the USA. It's your spouse, your brother, your co-worker, your softball team mate, your cousin, your boss, the nice guy at the auto shop, the nice retired fireman living across the street, the bright but politically idiotic/tribal surgeon in your golf foursome, the polite mother of three down the block. With obvious exceptions for those more fortunately situated, it's the people in your life who have wrecked the country. Not some anonymous "FSA".

Even with the catastrophic explosion in guvamint dependence and transfer payments, the actual voting public is not dominated by the FSA. They don't vote in nearly the %s that middle/upper-middle class folks do. The ones who can listen to NPR without sputtering (because their life experience is very narrow, and they're not given to critical thinking on stuff outside their immediate expertise but prefer to rely on bigotry and tribal default beliefs, and they are utterly in the thrall of the increasingly distorted marinade of "press" in which they have soaked all their lives).

372 Another take on this is, What's worse, allowing McCain et al to walk over you or coming right back at the same folks who're gonna be voting upperdown on yo ass.
