NBC Rules on Its Third Deceptive Edit In a Year: Some Say There Was No Heckling. Three People, David Frum and Our Own Martin Bashir and Lawrence O'Donnell, Disagree. You Be the Judge.

Wow, a media organization giving itself a clean bill of health on a hoax!

Well I never!

NBC, by the way, deceptively changes the terms of question from "was this yet another deceptive, political edit?" to "is it okay for people to characterize the situation in different ways?"

Of course the ignore the tough question and pretend the only controversy is about that.

What about the edit, NBC? You sure seem to be doing this a lot lately.

By the way: It's NBC, not MSNBC. We must no longer observe their preference that we pretend MSNBC is an independent news company nor pretend it's not really just NBC.

Anytime you guys want to boycott the entire network, stem to stern, I'm up for it.

51 It's too huge to boycott.

Why does MSNBC survive? Because the whole of NBC/Universal subsidizes it.

Universal Pictures: Focus Features, Working Title Films, Universal Studios Home Entertainment, Universal Animations Studios, Illumination Entertainment

NBC/Universal Cable: Syfy, Chiller, Cloo, E!, G4, USA, Universal HD

NBC Sports: Comcast Sports, Golf Channel, NBC Sports,

Other Media: Bravo, Oxygen, Style, Telemundo, mun2, PBS Kids Sprout [So NBC gets PBS bling? -ed], TVOne, DailyCandy, Fandango, iVillage, Television Without Pity

NBC/Universal News: NBC News, CNBC, MSNBC, The Weather Channel

What we really need is pushback from the Mainstream Media gatekeepers and media "critics". But we need a media critic who actually criticizes the media.

Another option: Demand your cable/satellite provider remove MSNBC or make it a pay channel and tell them you don't care if it costs more.

And lobby Congress for a la carte. The libs may go for it, they can get Fox off their TV.

62 ATF's Milwaukee sting operation marred by mistakes, failures

"When the 10-month operation was shut down after the burglary, agents and Milwaukee police officers who participated in the sting cleared out the store but left behind a sensitive document that listed names, vehicles and phone numbers of undercover agents.

And the agency remains locked in a battle with the building's owner, who says he is owed about $15,000 because of utility bills, holes in the walls, broken doors and damage from an overflowing toilet.

The sting resulted in charges being filed against about 30 people, most for low-level drug sales and gun possession counts. But agents had the wrong person in at least three cases. In one, they charged a man who was in prison - as a result of an earlier ATF case - at the time agents said he was selling drugs to them."

65 A la carte will wind up costing you tv addicts.

They will have to charge what the channel actually costs to produce divided by viewership.

Many useful channels will be wiped out and others will cost a lot.

What would work is say a minimum channel per tier.

You have to select a minimum number of channels to receive the price you can afford but you can pick them yourself.

They probably would have a rank setup so many from column a, b or c and the price or number available would reflect their popularity.

And by the way; why is cable or satellite immune from the laws of the market?

If a show is more popular, it's cost per viewer should be lower since it's spread over a wider base.

But then they setup cable to BE a monopoly to get the companies to invest in the infrastructure. After 50 years, isn't time to allow competition?

107 A la carte will wind up costing you tv addicts.

They will have to charge what the channel actually costs to produce divided by viewership.

No they wouldn't. They'd charge what the market demands.

I could count on one hand the channels I watch. In my case, being single, I really don't care.

Every channel would be like HBO.

I've always heard the horror stories of what would happen if we went a la carte. (I remember when the excuse was that it wasn't technologically feasible. But that's not true anymore with all of the pay-per-view and tiers that they keep track of.)

Well, cable/satellite is through the roof because the content providers have all the leverage. Let the consumer have choice. Then NBC can offer me a bundle directly and I can choose to accept or reject it.

Many useful channels will be wiped out and others will cost a lot.

Fine. That's the way it should be. Markets are miracles, don't put a barrier between the consumer and the market.

Hey, I agree with you. I don't watch any of it and for the most part aren't interested in much of it.

I was just soft pedaling it because I've gotten flack for being so "hardcore" about boycotting the InfoTainment Industry.

Anyone who watches any of it has to admit to providing money to their (presumed) enemies.

And it was a response to someone else making the claim a la carte would work. I don't see it. They have the power (so far) to set the prices and the format and until that changes (and with streaming video and such, it is beginning) they won't budge.

Even so. The market is what I was talking about. If a show costs 100K and it has 100k viewers then they have to pay 1 dollar to watch. anything else is just loss leading. Some producers won't bother and shows about history, science, technology and trades would be removed (the useful ones I mentioned) for the stuff they could sell.

I think a la carte would make things worse but I'm willing to see it happen cause I don't watch but I might if I could just pay for the stations I wanted to but that's not going to happen very soon.

The worst part of watching football? The promos for their bullshit tv shows. The incongruity volleys have started to make it unwatchable for me. Serious man football. Ten cocksucker soundtrack. In depth analysis. Then banal sarcasm. Desperate men sacrificing their bodies to make it rich. Then half-a-fag overacting.

The tv commercials are pretty retarded too. It's just becoming too unbearable. The worst thing --- super bowl parties where it's rude to flip the channel the Mechum Auto Auction.

273 "By the way: It's NBC, not MSNBC. We must no longer observe their
preference that we pretend MSNBC is an independent news company nor
pretend it's not really just NBC. Anytime you guys want to boycott the entire network, stem to stern, I'm up for it."

275 We are witnessing the downfall of the republic. With a corrupt media that embargoes everything that hurts The Party we are doomed.

Organize, boycott, buyout, take over the media and those who advertise on it.
