Did anyone else notice in the last two weeks investment experts pimping and pumping the real estate market?

They predict 2013 to be a great year for real estate.

All I can say is beware. Maybe there will be a bubble, but it will burst and the pain will be severe.

The reason I think real estate is still no good: the market never had a correction.

It has been propped up artificially. There was never a correction, ie a significant drop in prices.

If we have do have a bubble, the bursting will be like Hindenburg.

I still have no idea why Paladino went so off the rails in the campaign. He's a reformer who has done great things, like taking on the thoroughly corrupt NYS Thruway Authority in court, at his own expense, and winning.

He's still held in high esteem by WNY conservatives. He's currently running for the Buffalo School Board.

26 15- My house is in the market, and very few lookers. Real estate does not move much in the winter though. Even in a booming market, this is a quiet time, and things start moving as good as they will move in the spring. When kids get out school, that month is generally the peak. I always found these "experts" analyzing real estate on a quarter by quarter basis, never explain to people that real estate is actually very seasonal. Real estate always improves in the second quarter, no one likes to move while the kids are still in school and the weather sucks.

Should be easy. Professional victim types do an astounding amount of work finding new angles to exploit, programs to bleed dry, places and people to mooch from. Just explore the policies of different States [NYS is a great example] for how fast one can qualify for X programs and then advertise the crap out of it.

60 If the GOP takes more than one step forward without HARD action on the border it is finished.

sven replying to your previous post on earlier thread

I think you already know the answer to that one.

Having spent time on the border, I think that drones are one good way to enhance enforcement.
But
"enforcement" of what ? 11 million in the country illegally. There is
no enforcement of immigration law on the border or anywhere else in the
US. DHS ICE is busy catching alien felons - guns and dope.

At one time. I was in favor of a citizenship program that requires leaving
the US and returning via visa. I agree that the consumers of benefits
should pay taxes. I also agree that importing the "best and brightest"
has always been and should be the goal of US immigration. Not importation of the third world. But it's far too late now.

It isn't the goal. Potential Dem voters is the goal. It has nothing to do with tolerance or making America great.

It is just the FSA, Spanish-speaking division.

Also,I resent those who insist that we must treat illegal Hispanics with kid gloves as if they can't be held responsible for breaking the law. As if the GOP stupid party is just one Latino ass kiss away from TOTAL VICTORY!

61 WASHINGTON (AP) -- The U.S. economy shrank from October through December
for the first time since the recession ended, hurt by the biggest cut
in defense spending in 40 years, fewer exports and sluggish growth in
company stockpiles. The decline occurred despite faster growth in
consumer spending and business investment.

Oh I see. The economy was just dandy outside of defense spending.

Economists said the surprise decrease in the nation's gross domestic
product wasn't as bad as it looked. The weakness was primarily the
result of one-time factors. Government spending cuts and slower
inventory growth subtracted a total of 2.6 percentage points from
growth.

Of course the economy is just going gangbusters. These are the same economists who see every uptick in unemployment as unexpected

That is so depressing, god China is a fucking shit-hole, why can we not learn from those mistakes? Why are liberals so fucking blind. I really don't get it. If every example of free enterprise I saw was a disaster that caused untold human suffering and a loss of liberties I would rethink my stance. In fact I DID rethink my stance. After divorce, I spent my mandatory time in exile in Arizona. I had two years of poor performance in high school Spanish. Simply paying attention to billboards, bus stop benches, and other advertising, got the old Espanol up to steam. There is still more English advertising in non occupied America, so I doubt Senora Sanchez's deficiency in English is true.

The pussification of wings is just plain wrong...sweet-n-sour wings, BAKED wings for God's sake...even here in Buffalo where we invented the damn things, you can't get away from that crap.

REAL wings, Buffalo-style, are deep-fried and doused in a sauce containing exactly two ingredients: melted butter and Frank's Hot Sauce. The only variable is the butter-to-Frank's ratio. Serve with bleu cheese and some carrot and celery sticks for any weirdos in your group.

I truly believe that the likes of Miss Sanchez, mentioned earlier as
being in the country for 18 years, not speaking English is BS. Often,
the no hablo inglis is a crutch. After divorce, I spent my mandatory
time in exile in Arizona. I had two years of poor performance in high
school Spanish. Simply paying attention to billboards, bus stop
benches, and other advertising, got the old Espanol up to steam. There
is still more English advertising in non occupied America, so I doubt
Senora Sanchez's deficiency in English is true.

Her grandparents knew to say hello and good bye, but that was about it. They never bothered learning English. They lived in a close knit community surrounded by others who spoke their language. They didn't have a tradition job so they didn't interact with English speakers on a daily basis. Nope. not enough spending. Ludwig must be an expert:

University of Chicago criminologist Jens Ludwig said a plausible
explanation for the woeful January homicide numbers could be the budget
problems confronting cities throughout the country.Ludwig said big cities such as Chicago could use help from the federal government.

"Cities can't run budget deficits when economic conditions turn down,
which means that usually cities have to scale back police spending at
the very time you'd want them to, if anything, increase the number of
police on the streets," Ludwig said. "Only the federal government can
help solve this with their ability to run budget deficits during
economic downturns."

Let's get the Feds involved. That will solve everything

Their utter hypocrisy is pure evil. This promising young girl has lost her life to gun violence, but she'll not even be mentioned by our August and Valiant Leader and his Glorious Sycophant Mayor, because to do so would disturb the narrative that gun violence is curbed by strict gun control. Hey, Ludwig! Guess what! Cities DON'T have to scale back police spending. They could scale back something else instead. They could fire a few bureaucrats, consolidate some programs, cut some entitlement spending, cut *GASP!* BENEFITS TO CITY EMPLOYEES, or, shock!, fire some g-ddamn teachers.

265 From a story linked at Drudge:

Chicago's Top Cop Says Violence Not as Bad as it Seems
Fox Chicago: http://tiny.cc/b8cqrw

CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) - Chicago's top cop said the city's deadly weekend wasn't as bad as it seems when compared to last year.

There were seven murders from gunshots and other causes from 6 p.m. Friday until 12:01 a.m. Monday , according to the police department. Altogether, the city saw 10 shootings during that period, including victims who were wounded but did not die.

"That's just not the way those numbers usually play out," Chicago Police Supt. Garry McCarthy said Tuesday, adding that as of Friday afternoon the murder rate had been down nearly 30 percent for the month when compared to last year. He said there had been 13 fewer shootings last week compared to the same week in 2012.

But the number of murders for the week compared to last year remained about the same.

"Unfortunately that's the way it goes sometimes ... more people die percentage-wise from the shootings," he told reporters at a news conference in which he spoke of a White House meeting where he and other officials discussed gun policy.

"By reducing the shootings you expect to reduce the murders," he added, saying the number of deaths was "frustrating."...

Frustrating, eh? Yeah, you could call it that. I guess. If you're a dipshit.

Green Bay will never get it because the money people who buy all the tickets won't want to go to the smallest market in the NFL in the middle of winter.

The number of people who bitched about Jacksonville when they hosted a few years back was enormous and the host team didn't completely fuck things up like Jerrah did in Dallas.

Days after the Pentagon cleared women to take certain combat roles, advocacy groups for military women say another new hour has arrived for all young female adults to register with Selective Service, the giant pool of names collected by the government should America ever opt to revive the draft.

The movement to require women ages 18 to 25 to sign up for Selective Service — mirroring the law for all U.S. men in that demographic — is rooted in both active-duty and veteran circles.

284 Here's the thing about that video of the woman attacked in the courtroom, she was unable to bring any type of weapon to court. I feel confident in assuming that the courthouse where this took place has the same security measures as others, which means that she would have no gun, no taser, no knife of any size, no baton, no baseball bat. Nothing. Just her bare hands.

She was entirely dependent upon the legal system to provide her safety and she could not rely on that when she was quite literally sitting in the courthouse. If there was one place that she should have reasonably presumed she was safe, it was there. Obviously, she was not.

And people wonder why I think relying on the courts or the police to provide for my protection is an utter waste of time.
