Cory Booker and His Leviathan of Liberation
Progressive crypto-extremist Cory Booker has already continued to try to present himself as a reasonable moderate. Unfortunately for him, his more radical statements from the past continue to haunt him. Mr. Booker has come out and declared that “government is a liberation force.” Clearly, in his leftist mind, more government means more liberation, even though it would result in people being turned into defenseless victims or subjected to “food justice.” http://politicalhat.com/?p=1192 Posted by: The Political Hat at January 18, 2013 10:29 PM (Vk2pI) 7

In press conferences that have been held since 12/14, the Connecticut State Police have identified all of the weapons seized from the crime scene at Sandy Hook Elementary School.
"To eliminate any confusion or misinformation, we will again describe and identify the weapons seized at the school crime scene," Connecticut State Police Spokesman Lt J. Paul Vance said Friday, January 18, via a press release. Seized inside the school were the following: a Bushmaster .223 caliber-- model XM15-E2S rifle with high capacity 30 round clips; a Glock 10 mm handgun; and a Sig-Sauer P226 9mm handgun. Seized from the suspect’s car in parking lot was a Izhmash Canta-12 12 gauge Shotgun. The case remains under investigation. http://tinyurl.com/a9663hx Posted by: Y-not at January 18, 2013 10:32 PM (5H6zj) 14

I mentioned this two threads back, the Journal News took down their interactive legal gun owner snitch map. The story is that they are following the new law. I'm sure it doesn't have anything to do with the fact that a second burglary of an outed legal gun owner has occurred. The lawsuits are coming home to roost. Stupid sure can be expensive.

Dear Moron horde, It is with heavy heart and great sadness that I announce the passing of Mackenzie Scarlet Rice and Mason Robert Rice. Mackenzie was born at 9:17 am January 18th. She passed shortly thereafter in her mother's arms. Mason was born at 9:40 am January 18th. He passed shortly thereafter in his father's arms. Thank you to all who have been with us in spirit. We will be having a private memorial and burial service for our little angels. We still don't know when Kim will be out of the hospital, but we are hoping early next week. I probably won't be sending out any more list updates until she is released. We ask that you hold us in your thoughts and prayers through this tough time. Thank you all again for being there for us. --Jason Posted by: kerncon - RIP little angels at January 18, 2013 10:35 PM (kaeib) 23

Bob had hired a programming firm in the northeastern Chinese city of Shenyang to do his work. His helpers half a world away worked overnight on a schedule imitating an average 9-to-5 workday in the United States. He paid them one-fifth of his six-figure salary, according to Verizon.
And over the past several years, Bob received excellent performance reviews of his "clean, well written" coding. He had even been noted as "the best developer in the building." Posted by: Islamic Rage Boy at January 18, 2013 10:37 PM (e8kgV) 29

Repost from the same thread: Dear Kerncon, I am reminded of a moment during my senior year of high school. My German class had typically been rowdy, and out teacher was still always positive and nice to us. We knew she was pregnant, and one day a substitute showed up and gave us a letter that the teacher had written. One of us read the letter out loud. It talked about how she had lost her baby in utero and she had to have surgery to remove the remains of her child. The normally rowdy class became silent, and many of us cried. I don't remember the words she used in that letter, but only the feeling sorrow that it instilled in us. Remembering it now, I still well up. Kerncorn -
My wife and I lost our daughter in a similar situation (or what sounds like it) 19 days after she was born about 4 months ago. There's not a whole lot that I could say that would help or that wouldn't sound trite, so I'll keep it to a minimum. After 4 months in, I can say that you'll start probanly learning to get by and manage, but that doesn't mean at all that it won't still hurt, and you definitely don't get over anything. Will be praying for you both. Posted by: Professor Marius Von Totenkopf (formerly Hoss Fuentes) at January 18, 2013 11:01 PM (aozUR) 99

Life in New York has certainly gotten interesting. You wouldn't believe the groundswell of reaction to the latest indignity. This is upstate and outside the urban centers. Even LEO plus local gov't is uproared. The consensus seems to be that NO ONE is willing to consider confiscating people's weapons. Several officials have indicated there will be open rebellion, and they may refuse to grab anybody's guns. If enough of us scream and deluge Albany with lawsuits and protests it may be possible to nullify this crap. I hope. Posted by: irongrampa at January 18, 2013 11:02 PM (SAMxH) 101

kerncon, I remembered reading about this not long ago. Perhaps it will be of some comfort. I tracked down something similar in an online search:
Tears in a Bottle Many things are kept in bottles. Things of little value, like soda and windshield washer fluid, are most often found in plastic bottles. Liquids of moderate value are distributed in plain, glass bottles, like certain medicines. More expensive liquids, like perfumes, are kept in more ornate, fancy bottles. But here is something you may not have known. One of the most expensive liquids found, is kept in a very important bottle. Important, not due to its style, but due to its owner. The owner is God, and the liquid is... the tears of His saints. In Psalm 56:8, David says of God, “You keep track of all my sorrows. You have collected all my tears in your bottle. You have recorded each one in your book.” This Psalm recounts a very distressful time in David’s life when he had been wrongly accused and found himself to be a fugitive in his own country. David holds to the belief that God keeps a record of human pain and suffering and always remembers our sorrows and tears. Tear bottles were prevalent in ancient Roman times, when mourners filled small glass or ceramic vials with tears and placed them in burial tombs as symbols of love and respect. Tear bottles reappeared during the Victorian period of the 19th century, when those mourning the loss of loved ones would collect their tears in bottles ornately decorated with silver and pewter. The mourning period would end when the tears evaporated from the bottle. And in some American Civil War stories, women were said to have cried into tear bottles and saved them until their husbands returned. Their collected tears would show the men how much they were loved and missed. Washington Irving is quoted as saying “There is a sacredness in tears. They are not a mark of weakness, but of power. They speak more eloquently than ten thousand tongues. They are the messengers of overwhelming grief, of deep contrition and of unspeakable love.” You may have shed many tears recently. Know that the Lord has saved them in His “tear bottle.” Pastor Timothy Satryan Posted by: RushBabe at January 18, 2013 11:08 PM (tQHzJ) 117

carolina asks why they lie Today Ace summed up Everything You Need To Know About The Left. Ace wrote succinctly: " eftism isn't really a worldview which even attempts an evenhanded and universal application to similar situations. It's merely a goal, an agenda, and any means, including blatant dishonesty and laughable hypocrisy and inconsistency, are fair means for pursuing its ultimate end." And that's why I dont believe a word that comes from the media or from Obama. I dont believe the crock about Hillary Clinton. I don't believe the reports about Syria. tcn, I've had both male and female bosses that were clueless. I seem to miss your point. Can you elaborate? Posted by: seamrog at January 18, 2013 11:40 PM (06x7v) My point is that not everyone who is over their head in management or a position of power either bullshits or quits. Some actually find people who can help them to do a decent job. I would put most good presidents in that group--no one person can do that job or even begin to have the expertise to do it properly, but they can surround themselves with people who CAN do their part of the job extremely well. Mostly, the ones who bullshit or quit are men. They could never bring themselves to ask for help. Women can get away with asking for help without losing "face" quite as much. Doesn't mean that women WILL ask for help, because some women are as clueless as most men in this department. Very few people have the skills to lead. As of late, I am thinking alot about the "little" incident at Concord Bridge and at times find myself engrossed with the elements that surrounded "Bunker Hill." History sometimes repeats itself....which sucks....yet we are a nation that sometimes has to revisit history in order to find a clear path out of untenable (sic) times as which we of freedom find ourselves presently. Nov. 6th, 2012 did indeed open my eyes wide........and I am seeking a way out through our history as a nation. A far tougher road this time around.....far tougher. Yet..... The gun bans are cultural, they have nothing to do with crime.
It's about punishing The Other and making them go away. It's why the "peaceful, anti-violence" left can't stop making death threats and death wishes and false accusations and all the other lies. Their philosophy demands it. It's why a ditzy leftist actress goes on TV and says Republicans want to legalize rape. It has nothing to do with reality, but her "religion" demands it. They can't do what they want to us unless we're demons, inhuman. Blaming you or me for spree killings is just another blood libel. A woman, well armed, kept the Mexican ravening hordes away just a few miles from my position, the day before yesterday. Latest BP estimates have 150k illegals captured since Jan 1 2013. The country is "ablaze" with passionate debate about guns -- and the TFG is determined "to do something about it".
But, IMHO, an open debate over public policy, and Constitutional Rights, is good for freedom. However, the "progressives" want to use the debate to justify the coercive power of the government to infringe upon the rights of us good, thoughtful, law-abiding folks, because of what some crazies among us have done. We must not permit this to happen. The whole purpose of the Constitution is to insulate and insure personal freedom -- from the lust for power of those in government, and from the passions of the (mostly LIV) populace who sent them there. For now: Keep Calm and Carry On...and prepare, until it's time to go "full on" Patriot. I fear that time is growing nearer to hand. "The militia is the natural defense of a free country against sudden foreign invasions, domestic insurrections, and domestic usurpation of power by rulers. The right of the citizens to keep and bear arms has justly been considered, as the palladium of the liberties of the republic; since it offers a strong moral check against the usurpation and arbitrary power of rulers; and will generally ... enable the people to resist and triumph over them." -- Joseph Story, Supreme Court Justice, Commentaries on the Constitution of the United States, p. 3:746-7, 1833 "PALLADIUM..OF LIBERTIES..." Posted by: Richard at January 18, 2013 11:53 PM (4387b) My attempt at a pep talk: Even with the media acting against us (and they obviously were), Nov. 6, 2012 was not inevitable. 1. If the Romney campaign had spent more than a fraction of its time rebutting Obama's attacks, things might have been different. 2. If George Bush and the Republican Party leadership hadn't spent the 2000s squelching every bit of young blood in the party in favor of incumbents, we would have had better candidates. 3. If Bush had spent time rebutting Democratic attacks, we would have done better in the '06 and '08 congressional elections, which also would have provided better candidates by the time 2012 rolled around. 4. If the McCain camp had defended Palin, she might not have been as damaged as she was when 2008 was over. I'm still on the verge of let-it-burn, but those are four things that could have altered 2012 that weren't instances of the American people f'king up, but of us. And I don't I don't just mean the Republican Party elites. I also mean us. For instance, people on our side defended Bush for far too long. All is not lost. There's more that can be done... Brother, we who have lost young ones share your pain. We cannot assuage it, but we know it. It does not get easier. But time does make a difference. The youngest are in a far better place than we hope to be. They will only know the purest of joy. Twice the pain can only be harder. But know this. They cannot be lost. They sing amongst the angels, for they are of them. And they will await you in the Heavens, to bring you the joy denied you on this mortal coil. And it shall be for eternity. Your Lost have been found. And He shall keep them, knowing you will Joyously await them on the other side. But it is the waiting that is most horrible. And the one thing you must bear. Wait, Brother. And it shall be yours. Posted by: AZ Hi Desert at January 19, 2013 12:31 AM (ial2b) 237

Did the liberal news media back in the 60's CELEBRATE Lee Harvey Oswald's name, after he killed the liberal (but not bat-shit crazy, like today's "progressives") JFK? No, they didn't. They used his name because it was news-worthy. Today's news media may well be exploiting the Sandy Hook event, but they're not CELEBRATING the insane murderer by mentioning his name. Disagree? The difference in an insurgency here in the USA vs the ones we've been seeing in the ME is talent. There are so many little shops that will be on our side that can do amazing crap they will rue the day they fucked with us. The accounts of dire loss above put things in perspective. Tonight there were several family visiting including my miracle niece.
She was less than two pounds at birth and had a defect that left her with an incomplete esophagus. This defect has a rate of about 1 per 250K births, IIRC. Her survival in the first days was nothing short of astonishing and it remained a difficult thing for several years. She had to go through a number of surgeries and one of them to create a functioning esophagus from a section of colon was botched on the first attempt. Kid went through a lot more before she was six than most suffer in their whole lives and while it was rarely discussed openly, we always had to wonder if the extraordinary effort was the right thing for the girl or her parents. But tonight she was here with her new dog. A 20 year old girl most would take at first glance for a few years younger but entirely normal outside of the husky voice and thinner than average. Crazy for musical theater. A normal kid by most measures. And really amazing when all is considered. Sometime we win one. Posted by: epobirs at January 19, 2013 03:02 AM (kcfmt) 354

Any loss that matters is going to reawaken now and then. A memory that goes unaccessed is at risk of being lost entirely and our selves frozen in stasis, never changing with in reflect the changes without. There are some memories we'd just as soon be rid of, there are others that are unpleasant but must be retained if we are to be a creature that can envision a future and make plans for it. The breath of cool wind who swept in to my life when I wasn't looking? She slipped away in a missed heartbeat. I've written tens of thousands of words about loving them & living with them & how I miss them so.... But none tell you the depth of pain & grief & loss. You learn how to live with the pain. I may try writing out a small memorial site, but not sure when I'll be able to. I drew out a sketch of a memorial box this morning, a close friend of my wife's is a gifted wood worker, and that was very hard.
The nutshell synopsis: Wife has Crohn's disease, and is on an immunosuppressant to treat that. Right after new years she gets sick. Go to the ER the first weekend, and within 12 hours she is on a ventilator. Within another 24 (monday am) she is in a medical coma. Within another 60 (wednesday noon) she shows preterm. She is brought out of the coma into sedation the next day. 4 days later they remove the ventilator (last monday). Everything was going okay until Friday morning. Then the hammer fell, smashing our hope. And Prof, I raise a glass to ya. Posted by: kerncon - RIP little angels at January 19, 2013 12:00 PM (kaeib) Processing 0.05, elapsed 0.0574 seconds. |
