Toure to James O'Keefe: I Treated Your Plants with Respect, and You Dare to Quote Me Accurately!

The whining.

It should be noted that Toure only treated the activists with respect because he thought they were liberals, and he felt the need to plaintively explain his hypocrisy to them. After all, they were members of the Moral Elite, like himself.

There would have been no "respect" had they declared themselves political opponents.

Also, Toure is very dumb. That's just something to keep in mind. His brain is dumb, and he thinks dumb things.

73 Not sure how this new NY gun law will affect existing gun owners.

Before, the only way one could own a handgun, outside NYC, was to get a concealed carry permit through your local county's sherrif's department. One could not buy and gun and then get the permit. The permit must precede the gun.

Permitting is a long and detailed process, including fingerprinting, personal references, full FBI check, and one-on-one interviews with state police detectives. Cost is not really prohibitive, compared to CCW permits in other states.

Apparently they will allow under "grandfathering," any handguns (and this permitting thing is all about handguns, only) you have under your existing permit, which have clips (called "magazines") that hold more than seven rounds.

But they will now require, somehow, that all permits be renewed every five years. This will mean there are a huge number, me included, that will have to re-up.

Or not.

The problem is that the huge majority of these gun owners in NY, while their permits say it's OK to carry concealed, don't. They had to get the permit in order just to have the gun. To keep it wherever. In a safe, in the drawer, locked in the car, unlocked in the car, wherever. Few are walking around carrying.

Most all the other states do handgun ownership the way we all know. You buy one at a gun shop and to clear the buy, your ID is sent through the quick national system for background check. Once done, you buy the gun and carry it out. Depending on state laws, you may or may not be able to carry concealed.

One state I know, Colorado, has a concealed carry permit thing, separate from plain old ownership, and it works sort of as NY is going to do, by that I mean the five-year renewal. I believe the fees amount to maybe $100 each time you do it, so it may work out to about $20 per year to be legal and CCW in Colorado.

But how NY is going to handle their preexisting guns is a mystery to me. Knowing how things work in my own really really rural and underpopulated county, I would say they simply do not have the manpower. My county barely has a WalMart.

80 White House condemns anti-Semitic Morsi comments
Published: 01.15.13, 20:58 / Israel News

The White House is strongly condemning remarks that Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi made almost three years ago about Jews. Morsi was a Muslim Brotherhood leader in 2010 when, according to The New York Times, he asked Egyptians to nurse their children and grandchildren on hatred for Jews and Zionists.

White House spokesman Jay Carney calls the language "deeply offensive" and says Morsi should make clear that he respects people of all faiths. He says the US government has raised its concerns about the remarks with Egypt. (AP)

96 But how NY is going to handle their preexisting guns is a mystery to me. Knowing how things work in my own really really rural and underpopulated county, I would say they simply do not have the manpower. My county barely has a WalMart.

Prosecute a few people, jail them, utterly bankrupt them, destroy their lives and reputations and then stand on the graves of dead children and declaim that they are still morally superior when SCOTUS smacks them down two and a half to three years from now is my guess.

Oh, I should note that's best case scenario. My realistic scenario is kill a mother, a child or two, the family dog and burn the house down when the SWAT team raids the wrong house when they were told the neighbor has some high capacity magazines that weren't turned in.

Posted by: Truman North at January 15, 2013 03:27 PM (I2LwF)

As a fan of parrots -- and indeed all ornithological specimens -- I reject your comparison of Neblett to a parrot. Parrots are SMART.

Though my co-worker's friend had a rescue parrot once that loved to shout profanity. . The first time it saw the friend's fiance -- never having met him before -- it squawked, "Motherfucker!" Prophetic, since she ended up divorcing the guy a few years later.

Exactly. If we call him Douchenozzle, e.g., it doesn't sting him. He can just dismiss it as been childish on our part.
But Neblett stings him. First, because he thinks it's dorky. Second, because calling him that reminds him and others that he is an insecure little fake.

111 When I was young and a stupid redneck living in NYC, I had a sawed off shotgun I kept in my apartment.

I always look back and think about the most innocent of things that could have happened that could have caused me to do jail time for that possession.

They forced me to be a law breaker whereas I have enough firearms now to supply a squad and all perfectly legal.

113 Gun free zones should be abolished.

Let's try it and see what happens.

The statistics show and increase in these shootings after the Federal law mandating Gun Free Zones and then commercial places and Academe started doing it also.

If so *crickets*

Posted by: sven10077 at January 15, 2013 04:08 PM (LRFds)

122 I think NY needs an additional gun control law:

Because gun ownership is not something which is for everyone - NY should declare any house which does not have guns a "gun free zone" - require the owners of those houses to display the "gun free zone" sign and make the possession of arms there a crime - just as it is at a school.

Liberals are stupid enough to actually think that is a good idea.
