Piers Morgan: Why Yes I Do Plan to Stand on the Graves of Gun Victims

Ben Shapiro embarrassed him on TV, so Piers Morgan wants a rematch.

But he wants the deck stacked -- he wants the rematch to be in a "townhall-style debate," in which, yes, Piers would load the audience with victims of gun crime.

Ben Shapiro, of course, had accused Morgan of "standing on the graves" of murder victims to render himself immune to counter argument. Morgan vigorously denied it.

But that's his offer now-- and he's baiting Shapiro with "grow a pair" taunts do to Shapiro's reluctance to play with a stacked deck.

One of my cousins posted a video on her FB timeline from Alex Jones' InfoWars site. Seems they're claiming that Sandy Hook was faked- FEMA hiring actors, no one actually died (or at least not by a single, crazy killer)- in order to continue to build the case that began with 9/11 for more government control and for stricter gun laws (and, eventually, seizure). I'm not reposting the link because this is my work computer and I don't want that in the internet history, but you can find it, and the many other videos they've posted about Sandy Hook, via a quick google.

That's because, despite having been on the planet for more than an hour and half and living it personally, liberals don't believe there is such a thing as human nature. They experience it, they see it every day....they just believe it doesn't exist. Instead, they believe that everyone (except Republicans) is basically good and all they need is a little guidance to remind them of what they really and truly want.

And if the proles doesn't accept that guidance?

Well then, they'll just have to get it good and hard. Over and over again, until they accept it.

Oh....and he uses the word "greed" a lot because he cannot accept that anyone could possibly be smarter, more talented, work harder or suffer more then he possibly can.

162 Don't count on the courts to uphold our right to bear arms. Four more years of Obama and there won't be a whole lot of federal judges that can read plain English.

And besides, it doesn't matter what a court says when the executive won't enforce it. The Brown decision decision didn't desegregate Southern schools; Eisenhower did. But Obama won't enforce Heller. He doesn't have to because no one will hold him accountable.

They won.
The only question left is how fast they get it all and how painful we can make it for them.
So even if, like me, you are a thoroughgoing pessimist, you still get a choice of hard you are going to go down. Quick and easy? Or longer, screaming, kicking, biting their ankles, giving them the finger?

167 Why does anyone need an assault weapon or 20 to 30 rd. mags ?
Well now , there was a crew here in S.C. that was breaking into gun stores . 3 guys . Their last job was a gun shop where the owner lived out back . Owner hears noise confronts bad guys with his semi auto rifle and empties it at the perps . One dead , one in the hospital , and one escaped .
Dead of night , high stress , the guy missed a lot of his shots , understandably .
Obvious point being , if the store owner had only say , a 1911 with seven rds available there's a good chance he'd be dead right now .

170 Gun Control Plans To Be Unveiled on Wednesday

http://tinyurl.com/ajk6sdj

President Obama will unveil a sweeping set of gun-control proposals
at midday Wednesday, including an assault weapons ban, universal
background checks and limits on the number of bullets magazines can
hold, according to sources familiar with the plans.
The announcement, to be delivered at the White House, is also
expected to include a slate of up to 19 executive actions that the Obama
administration can take on its own to attempt to limit gun violence.

172 Also We clearly need to do more talk about "Semi-automatic" meaning
"almost every modern gun." because stats are support for Semi-auto
bans.(Ironically I'd bet any proposed Semi-auto ban would include a
handgun exemption.)

Part of me wants to take a lever-action rifle/carbine, fill it with blanks, and demonstrate why "Semi-automatic" is meaningless when it comes to "I have a gun, and you don't."

175 Morgan is a twit and a hack. I know, stating the obvious.

Jones (who I can't stand) is only reporting on this. It originated with a Floridian college professor.

197 On top of everything else, it's Underpants Gnome thinking (I do appreciate the Broken Windows comparison in the ONT, too):

1. Gun control
2. ???
3. Safety!

First, their gun control won't do anything to deter a determined gunman.

Second, it just increases the amount of violent crime overall. That's happened in Great Britain and Australia even though they're islands and they can actually do gun control in a practical sense. Of course it's because projectile weaponry makes us all equal.

Third, the truly determined psychopaths will just turn to bombs. Which are sooooo much better.

All the good shows clearly depict the bad buys shooting hundreds of rounds, missing, and ultimately being cleanly dropped by the good buy armed with one seven-round M1911 style firearm. At the end of the firefight, the good guy still has ammo left!

I suspect the good guy actors would be the ones called to give expert testimony on why hi-cap magazines are unnecessary. Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie could team up on the issue!

Thing is, Palladino isn't the whack-job the MSM made him out to be, although I have to admit he did his share of screwing up as well. But Palladino had stones. He took on the NYS Thruway Authority over toll booths in Buffalo that the Authority had been illegally running since the fucking 60s. DECADES went by and not one single elected official dared take on the Authority. Palladino, then just a concerned citizen, albeit a rich one, took them on and won.

Of course, this being NYS, the assholes in Albany simply jacked up the toll by the equivalent amount at the next legal tollbooth down the road.

269 A school district in Wisconsin said they will review a high school diversity class that exposed students to radical leftist thinkers and promoted a critical race theory that alleges white people are oppressors.

The “American Diversity” class was taught to juniors at Delavan-Darien High School in Wisconsin, Fox News has learned.

“They’re teaching white guilt,” a concerned parent told Fox News. “They’re dividing the students. They’re saying to non-whites, ‘You have been oppressed and you’re still being oppressed.’”

The woman’s 18-year-old son was enrolled in the class and became alarmed after she looked at some of the handouts provided to the students.

Military contract nomenclature.

The 1911 is a product perfected and refined 1903 browning with an alteration in Ammo after analysis of after action data from the Phillipine insurrection.

.45 is the ammo, the weapon is also available in .38super and some contract production built the weapon in 9*19.

Military Nomenclature underwent some revisions between the world wars, and in military aviation a reset when the numbers got into the 100s.

Period nomenclature from news articles in the roaring 20s referred to the pistol as a Colt Automatic.....

imagine the nightmares that would cause for us today as pro-gun.

The republican side of gun control has suffered because of the people we have arguing our case.

"Who needs an assault rifle for hunting?"

We have assholes who actually try to answer that. For me, the response is this:

Hunting? What kind of sick fuck would intentionally go out and kill a defensless animal? Unless someone is hunting strictly for food because he has no other means of feeding himself and his family, hunting is a barbaric practice that should be outlawed.

Rifles, especially "assault rifles" are necessary for the only good reason for owning a firearm - to kill people as quickly and efficiently as possible. Assault rifles aren't needed to deal with a teenager who breaks into your garage looking to steal your tools or a lawnmower. They are needed for the immediate aftermath of a natural disaster when a pack of urban "youths" are approaching your home to take what little food and water you have for your survival.

Assault rifles are also for the time when the government forgets who it is working for.

The second amendment has nothing to do with hunting or target shooting. Letting liberals put the conversation in that light is a big mistake.

Thank you for articulating the frustration I've felt since this controversy started. The 2nd Amendment is not about hunting, not even about self-protection from criminals. The Left has successfully reframed the issue. If we fight on that ground, we'll lose.

Posted by: troyriser at January 15, 2013 01:20 PM (vtiE6)

279 Okay, let's say I'm a bad guy, but I don't have any of those Eeeevil "semi-automatic assault weapons." Instead I have two .38 revolvers, and a Marlin 336. Now, before I have to reload, I have 19 shots.

How fast do you think I'll be able to get through those 19 shots, and how many people do you think I'll injure/kill? And, since everyone is running away from me, I have plenty of time to reload if I want. That's 18 more shots each time I reload.

And none of those weapons has a capacity of greater than 7 (and the Marlin 336 has a capacity of (functionally) 6 + 1).

So, unless the Liberals are going to resort to banning and confiscating every single gun in the United States, bad people will still be able to do bad things with perfectly legal weaponry.

So we've proven that bans of "semi-automatic assault weapons" (besides being inherently contradictory) are useless. If such bans are useless, what is the purpose in preventing me from having an "assault rifle?" Even a real one- that is: selective fire for single shot, burst, or automatic fire.

Boy you have a lot of preconceived notions about who comments here about what we might have done or haven't done in our lives. Let me put it bluntly. If you support a political effort disarm the American people, I don't know who you think you are fighting for, but it certainly isn't me. At best I am an incidental benefactor.

That's the breaks. A lot of countries have armies. Not all of them are worth admiring. Those very few that are committed to fight for freedom are. Wanting to disarm America, even if it is just semiautomatic weapons (invented in 1885 BTW) is not fighting for freedom.

So I don't get to have valid opinions anymore? So if the service keeps trending this direction and becomes full throated supporters of totalitarianism I still don't get to be disappointed... just because? Because being disappointed that the service members are ideologically given to supporting top down authoritarianism is just something mere civilians have not right to do?

What is laughable is that being in the service puts your political beliefs above any reproach. No matter what they may be. There is a line, that no matter how respectable the person, there are beliefs that you cannot respect. Wanting to disarm the American people is across that line.

That is an infintile response to the reality of a free society, particulary when it's aimed towards the very people that proteced and defended it. 378 366 John McTard,

Yeah yeah sure whatever.

Just like I am sure you are bothered by the lies and calumny that Mother Sheehan et al spread about our forces putting them more in harm's way by emboldening the opfor.

Any individual marine is entitled by God, the 4th amendment within the constraints of a security check, and their conscience to believe what they will.

Any citizen is more than entitled to be bothered, alarmed, saddened by the perceived ethics and values of the Corps being what it is.

I have sharply rebuked my wife for intoning her service as a vessel of moral authority against the fucking moonbats we hate when done totally in private.

Military members past, present, and future have no more standing than any other citizen on the issue of ethics and concerns about political issues foreign or domestic and frankly as any service member who has tried to live up to their oath understands innately active component soldiers in fact have less ability to express their views on the issues.

Hell you're defending the President who went out of his way to gum up the ballot delivery worse than any modern CinC.

You said ANY belief so I gave you some reproachable political beliefs to test your thesis. When you stipulate a rule, you test all cases of it not just the obvious ones. Then if the rule doesn't hold up in all cases it is invalid. I expect that lack of meaningful rejoinder means you admit there are SOME political beliefs you find disappointing. So your thesis is therefore invalid. Now we haggle over where the line is, not whether it exists. And whether it is acceptable that I would draw my line in a slightly different spot than where you draw yours.

First - thanks for your service. Respect the institution, fine. If one is disappointed because the individuals in that institution exercise the right to think for themselves, and speak what they believe ina free society that they fought to preserve, I think that's childish and it is disrespectful to the individuals who comprise that group, not necessarily to the institution itself. Maybe they didn't "forget" -- maybe they just came around to a different way of thinking that is not made invalid simply because you disagree with it.

I agree it may be abhorent and uncaonscionable, but please tell me where congress is proposing "disarming the American people." Preventing people from buying assault weapons or monster clipsconstitutes disarming? Maybe so, butthat's another discussion. But I would hazard a position that limiting certain weapons and certain types of ammoconstitutes control, limitations, restrictions --not disarming per se. If you disarm a suspect, you take away the gun. Nobody's talking about removing guns from the possession of current gun owners.

How ever the concept of "arms" may have changed over the years, the people have a right to own them such that they are sufficiently capable to use and resist force in order to protect their freedom from all enemies foreign and domestic.

I never argued for "unlimited" I argued that to take away semi-automatic rifles with high capacity detachable box magazines was to effectively disarm the people which is violating their rights. The constitution was specifically conceived so a bare majority in ignorance, malice, or short sightedness could not impose tyranny on a minority. Review federalist 10 and 51.

411 Hey Mike the Moose - I was actually addressing Sean O'Bannion's 2nd Amendment argument, which he ignored. You call public opinion irrelevant, which it really can never be, at least in a democratic republic. Some kind of gun control is going to happen, not out of tyranny but out of polictical expediency and an ideological point of public safety. I'm not debating whether that's a valid reason, but that will be the reason given, as you probably know. It's a complex issue, and you're a smart guy. My point to Sean was that the strict constitutional defense of gun ownership is NOT unlimited, as you more or less agreed with. He was silent. I still thnk that restriction is not disarming except in a highly qualified interpretation of the word. You have a right tointerpret this, of course, I just don't agree that it is a cogent interpretation.

To disarm is always relative. When one man has a rock and a another has a fist the one with the rock is armed. I don't want to wait for the government to get to muzzle loaders and compound bows before you decide you are being disarmed.

You are disarmed when your weapons are taken to the point that you can no longer be effective. The people of this country are disarmed if semiautomatic weapons are made unavailable to them.
