Watch Argentina and nuclear weapons. They just loaded fuel (natural uranium) into their CANDU reactor which is great for making plutonium.
They have their own uranium mines and fuel fabrication facilities. Left over from the 90's are fuel reprocessing plants and probably weapon designs. The "tell" is that Cristina K. is accusing Britain of introducing nuclear weapons into the Falklands. When a leftist accuses someone of something, one can guess that they are doing the same. @92
For those that haven't seen my drive bys in the last few ONTs: Last Saturday (Jan 5th) I took my wife, 17 weeks at the time pregnant with twins, to the ER for a continuously high (104+) fever. She was swiftly admitted to UNC hospital for a severe bacterial pneumonia. By Sunday morning she was on a ventilator. Monday morning brought an ominous midnight call summoning us back to the hospital, she nearly died due to respiratory failure. They were able to stabilize her, but to do so they had to medically paralyze her. Monday/Tuesday her fever breaks. Wednesday afternoon brought an ominous mid day call that she had started pre-term labor. It did not progress past what happened that afternoon. Thursday, she was removed from paralytic. The weekend brought changes to the ventilator settings to get her moving to get off of it, and a seesaw return of the fever. Today brings the removal of the ventilator and her and the twins all doing good. Needless to say the last week has been a roller coaster. Posted by: Kerncon at January 14, 2013 02:36 PM (2PWuT) 148

Look at all the guns that were sold since Nov-Dec of last year. All those guns need to be fed. Wal-Mart is missing out on a great opportunity. Actually went to walmart this past weekend.
I respect Sam Walton, etc. but I had going through a store with annoying musak, with a grocery section with poor veggies and meats, and then waiting in line behind 5 or 6 idiots while there are 40 - 50 unopened registers [even the local convenience store has automatic checkouts]. But ... decided, what the hey. Help the economy. Loaded up the cart with ice cream, clothing, small trinkets from the gift crap aisle etc. Looked around, didn't see what I really wanted. Waited in line for a while, then went looking again. While back waiting in the check-out line, a manager came by. Flagged him down, he asked if I found everything. I responded no, looking for some 2nd amendment items. He said that he 'didn't want any killing stuff in his store'. I politely thanked him, and we promptly left. It was great fun. Wife put a stop to it though on our way to our third walley worlded. Posted by: Yeah, maybe I was a douch, but ... at January 14, 2013 02:46 PM (w5RwR) 201

So apparently I dropped a bomb and then wandered off from you fine folk.
My comment about the EOs came from Drudge. One of the top headlines quotes TFG as saying that "he has executive powers over guns". The quote from the linked article: My understanding is the vice president's going to provide a range of steps that we can take to reduce gun violence," said Obama. "Some of them will require legislation, some of them I can accomplish through executive action.......But I'm confident that there are some steps that we can take that don't require legislation and that are within my authority as president..." What was wrong with the movie Lincoln? I have not seen it but other
conservative friends have and they did not report any untold bias. I've read several biographies of Lincoln so I'm pretty familiar with the story. I thought the movie was excellent and the portrayal of Lincoln was better than any I'd ever seen. Daniel Day Lewis was awesome. And I respectfully disagree with Sven's point that Lincoln was made to seem like a member of something other than the Republican party. In fact, I was kind of surprised at the degree to which the Democrats were portrayed as villains. Posted by: Cicero (@cicero) at January 14, 2013 02:48 PM (QKKT0) 207

@211: Yeah, v2. v2 requires that you make the source available you used to build your kernel (not your userland apps), so it's not a big deal. v3 requires that you also provide a way for the end user to replace your software, because Stallman has a boner over TiVo (and DirectTV and Verizon and Comcast and every other DVR) running Linux that he can't customize.

206 Cicero,
Every ad blitz, every interview, and the crescendo of the film made it seem as though "Abe would probably be a democrat today" and that is frankly Horseshit. He was an American System loving patronage Whig who shunned the know-nothings and helped found the GOP. He was like a funhouse mirror version of the modern vulture legal profession making scratch by making sure business could thrive. Spielberg does not take the victory banner for most ludicrous revision to Abe that would be Harry Turtledove who decided old Abe was really a Communist. Daniel Day Lewis probably turns in a killer job acting out what Spielberg wanted, I am an ex thespian and I can separate my love of craft from politics but the portrayal was simplistic from what I have read, and the hoopla outside the film means I won't see it until it is on DVD and then likely bought used to keep the cash from Horrywood. Nothing personal this historical wars bullshit is my life's passion. Abe is an enigma I love him for a few things and I probably hate him for a lot more but it is still a hair over into love. That is how important his 'goods" were. Posted by: sven10077 at January 14, 2013 02:54 PM (LRFds) 220
