Lad is enjoying the patch I pulled for his new vegas build and I hung here and worked on a build for my PC on FNV....

The Kerbal Space Program has got to be one of the best computer games I've ever come across. As a professional Spacecraft Orbital Analyst, and accredited Coffee Go Getterer, I can attest that the the maths, and physics of this 'game' are pretty good...pretty damn close to spot on! It's more of a complex simulation, than a game. In the demo version, you can build your rocket, attempt to launch your rocket, (RIP Bill, Jebediah, and Bob Kermal), though, if things go right, you can guide your awesome vessel into a stable orbit around Kerbin, and while your Kerbonauts are popping the celebratory champagne, you can inform them that you didn't quite get around to budgeting for the fuel required to get them back down again. Don't worry though...you'll get used to seeing the Kermal triplets killed in a variety of ways...most of which include fire, explosions, crashes, or various combinations of the three.
From there, you improve your rocket, attempt to get your Kerbonauts into orbit, and safely back down again....or....that funny round gray ball in the distance? What the hell is that?...maybe you can try flying to that, orbiting it, even landing on it. (Again....RIP Bill, Jebediah, and Bob Kermal). That gray ball is the Mun, and in the demo version, the only other body you can actually land on. (the retail version includes another moon you can play with, and an entire solar system of planets and moons to explore.....I've manage to land on one other planet, Duna, and accidentally did'nt budget the DV to get my brave Kerbonauts back home again. Oops)).

Seriously...this is a fun game. If you're looking for something that blends game like elements, with believable physics, and real world simulation, this is it. Lot's of player mods, and addons, (ship parts, and pieces that don't require a DLL to work are usually compatible with the demo version). Space planes, space stations, persistence from session to session, (so that you can build some phenomenally complex goodies), a very active, and helpful player community, forums, and continuing active development make this very fun, and interesting.

Otto was a guy who was playing a different game than his peers, a lot like benny Friedman or Jim Brown....
His era is a little stale by modern tastes but if you watch enough you really appreciate his grasp of the coming modern game.

I knew that! I like to follow the evolution of offensive football. There is still a little bit of single wing being played today in major football. For instance, Ohio State ran about 5% of heir offense from a three-TE shotgun set that played like the single wing.
It would work in the pros in small doses, considering the size and athleticism of modern TEs and QBs.

I think the Chargers v dolphins was an amazing
game...even though he's evolved into an asshole Kellen Winslow played
his heart out....
another game that makes me go "thanks for the game" is the Chargers v Bengals cold day in hell game......
Fouts was an amazing QB but ken Anderson had on his dancing shoes.

I used to live behind Chargers stadium during that time. We could walk to the games and Fouts, Winslow, et.al., gave us many good times. The San Diego fans were a blast.

The winning field goal in overtime was the result of a final Manning interception.

They don't call it this, but it should be called the East Coast offense. Punishing running game, setting up play-action.
The future of offense is the Redskins and Bills. They both integrate the pistol to good effect. And the future of quarterbacks is Colin Kaepernick and, believe it or not, Tim Tebow. You're going to see a lot of guys who would otherwise play power pitcher, power forward, or defensive end lining up four yards behind center.

Those games were the same day/weekend... Brutal below zero temps for Ohio. That was the "Kardiac Kidz" Browns season and the start/continuation of "the curse".

The reason it is ascendant is free agency.
You have to have a true unit to run good open offense.
The league is also way too cookie cutter these days.

I've been reading Grantland and DeadSpin. The have some junk, but ocassionally they'll put together something devastating.
I think it's Grantland that's been doing a great job on the New Orleans Saints suspensions and the role of the commissioner. Also done a good job on the NHL lockout.

Clay Matthews didnt know whether to shit or go blind trying to defend the Niners read-option plays today and I thinka paradigm shift is taking place.
If you have a QB like Kaepernick or Griffin or Newton who have to be defended as passers and runners on more or less every single play, but who are bigger and smarter than a Michael Vick and they dont execute dogs or get drunkand shoot up astrip club every weekend, that guy is going to be VERY hard to stop andjust mightredefine the QB position before he/they are done.
